입상형 활성백토의 입자크기에 따른 수성도료의 특성 (Properties of Water-Based According to Particle Size of Granular Activated Clay)

  • In order to reduce the emission of harmful substances that degrade indoor air quality, the Ministry of Environment strengthened the standards for the content of VOCs in paints to supply and sell eco-friendly paints. In this related study, an eco-friendly paint mixed with a powder-type absorbent material was prepared and its characteristics were reviewed. As the amount of powder-type absorbent material increased, the workability (viscosity, peeling, etc) decreased. Accordingly, this study aims to examine which particle size is suitable according to the particle size of the granular adsorbent while improving the problem of the powdery adsorbent by using the granular adsorbent. As an experimental plan, the particle size of granular activated clay is selected to be 0.250, 0.425, 0.710(mm), and the decrease rate of VOCs concentration and impact resistance are reviewed. As a result of the experiment, as the particle size of the granular activated clay increased, the decrease rate of the VOCs concentration increased and the impact resistance improved. Therefore, considering the problems that occur after actual painting, the particle size of granular activated clay of 0.425mm is suitable.

흡착법을 이용한 어유의 탈취 (Deodorization of Fish Oil Using Adsorption Method)

  • 어유의 탈취장치 대신 컬럼에 활성탄, 활성 알루미나, 실리카겔, 대나무 숯 등 흡착제를 단독 혹은 적당한 비율로 혼합하여 충진시켜 탈색과 동시에 탈취시킴으로서 효율적인 탈취효과를 검토하였다. 대멸치유의 탈검효과는 수산 30%를 어유 100 ml에 대하여 18 ml첨가한 것이, 탈산은 수산화 나트륨을 2.5%로 하여 $40^{\circ}C$에서 30분간 처리한 것이 효과적이었다. 탈취의 경우 흡착제(활성탄, 활성알루미나, 실리카겔)를 농도별로 단독 첨가할 경우는 실리카겔30% 첨가가, 그리고 흡착제를 혼합하여 첨가할 경우는 활성알루미나 30%와 실리카겔 10% 혼합 첨가가 가장 우수하였으나 흡착제에 녹차분말 2%를 첨가할 경우 큰 효과가 없었다. 대멸치유의 탈검, 탈산 및 탈취 후의 주요지방산 조성은 16:0, 20:5n-3, 18:1n, 16:1n-7, 22:6n-3 및 18:0이었다. 대멸치 정제유에 $\alpha$-tocopherol를 첨가하여 $25^{\circ}C$에서 40일간 저장시 산화 안정성은 대조구는 20일까지 항산화제를 첨가한 경우는 30일까지라 생각되며 $\alpha$-tocopherol 0.02%첨가보다 0.01% 첨가가 더 효과적이었다.

Efficiency Evaluation of Adsorbents for the Removal of VOC and NO2 in an Underground Subway Station

  • Adsorbent combination studies have been carried out to remove nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs: BTEX) out of a subway environment characterized by high flow and low concentration. Optimal conditions for the high removal efficiency of the concerned target compounds were obtained through testing a series of control factors such as adsorbent sorts, thicknesses, and superficial velocity. It was found that the efficiencies increased as the specific surface area of activated carbon and its thickness increased, and external void fraction decreased. Furthermore, mixed activated carbon with granular and constructed contents was extensively tested to reduce pressure drop through the carbon bed. It was found that the performance of higher contents of granular activated carbon was better than that of higher contents of the constructed carbon. When the mixed carbon was applied to the subway ventilation system in order to eliminate $NO_2$ and VOC simultaneously, the removal efficiencies were found to be 75% and 85%, respectively.

2단형 막분리 활성슬러지법(Two Stage MBR)의 운전 특성에 관한 고찰 (Operating Characteristics of Two Stage Membrane Bioreactor)

  • Two-stage membrane bioreactor using submerged hollow fiber membrane was applied in laboratory scale to treat nitrogen and phosphorus of domestic wastewater. Alum as the flocculant and adsorbent was added into the anaerobic basin of two-stage membrane bioreactor and mixed liquid of aerabic basin was recycled to the anaerobic basin for the purpose of nitrogen removal. Experiment was carried out to find removal efficient of phosphorous and nitrogen components in the mixed liquid, and the stability of the permeate flux and pressure of two-stage membrane bioreactor. In case of alum was added as the flocculant and adsorbent into the anaerobic basin, soluble phosphorus removal efficient was relatively higher and total permeate resistance(Rtot) was more increased out nitrogen removal efficient was lower as the result of lack of alkalinity and insufficient nitrification process than the case of alum was not added.

  • Pervaporation is the most promising technique for the recovery of ethanol from the fermentation system. To date, extensive research has been conducted on the exploration of membrane materials with favorable properties. In this paper, we primarily review the performance of adsorbent-filled rubbery membranes. In addition, the fundamental mechanisms of ethanol and water molecules transportation through composite membranes are demonstrated, particularly from the perspective of cluster formation. Finally, future prospects are also analyzed to develop the guidelines for the future development of excellent membrane materials for ethanol concentration. This paper is not meant to be an exhaustive overview, rather a specialized summary that allows readers to select the information appropriated to their topics.

NaX 제올라이트가 담지된 허니컴 흡착제의 제조 및 이의 이산화탄소 흡착특성 (Preparation of NaX Zeolite Coated Honeycomb Adsorbents and It's Carbon Dioxide Adsorption Characteristics)

  • 지구온난화에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 이산화탄소를 연소 후 배가스로부터 흡착 분리하기 위한 허니컴 흡착소자의 제조 및 그 특성에 관한 것이다. 고온사용이 가능하도록 세라믹쉬트, 활성탄소 쉬트를 사용하여 허니컴을 제조하였고 그 위에 Na-X 제올라이트를 코팅하였다. 또한 Na-X 제올라이트를 포함시킨 제올라이트 쉬트를 사용하여 허니컴 흡착제를 제조하였다. 이들 세 가지 허니컴 흡착제에 대하여 이산화탄소 흡착량, 표면특성 그리고 16% 이산화탄소 혼합가스를 공급하여 파과특성을 분석하였다. 또한 가열재생에 따른 이산화탄소 농축특성과 가열시 허니컴 흡착제의 온도변화를 분석하여 열스윙 흡착 분리공정에서의 우월성을 비교 분석하였다. 이들 허니컴을 사용한 흡착파과실험 결과를 바탕으로 하여 회전식 흡착 농축공정의 적용 가능예를 보여주었다.

AC 및 ACF에 포집된 혼합 유기용제의 열탈착 방법에 따른 분석 및 평가 (Analysis and Assessment by Thermal Desorption Method of Mixed Organic Solvents Collected on Activated Carbon(AC) and Activated Carbon Fiber(ACF))

  • This study was conducted to evaluate desorption efficiencies accuracy and precision by $CS_2$ and thermal desorption method for polar and non-polar organic solvents collected on activated carbon(AC), activated carbon fiber(ACF), carbosieve SIII, materials tested were Methyl alcohol, n-Hexane, Benzene, Trichloroethylene, Methyl isobutyl ketone and methyl cellosolve acetate and six different concentration levels of samples were made. The results were as follows ; 1. Accuracy on kind adsorbent and desorption method was low. In case of $CS_2$ desorption solvent, Overall B and Overall CV on AC and ACF were 43% and 6.63%, respectively. In case of thermal desorption method, accuracy of thermal desorption method appeared higher than solvent desorption method by AC 18.0%, 3.54%, ACF 2.6%, 2.57%, Carbosieve SIII 13.7% and 1.97%, respectively. 2. In the concentration level III, accuracy of thermal desorption method on adsorbent was in order as follow ; ACF > Carbosieve SIII > AC in the methyl alcohol and Carbosieve SIII > ACF > AC in the rest of them all subject material and Concentration levels showed good precision at EPA recommend standard (${\leq}{\;}30%$) 3. DEs by type of organic solvent adsorbent and desorption method are as follows ; In the case that desorption solvent is $CS_2$, DE of Methyl alcohol is AC 47.5%, DE of all materials is ACF about 50%. In the case of thermal desorption method, DE of Methyl alcohol is AC 82.0%, ACF 97.4%, Carbosieve SIII 86.3%. DE of the later case is prominently improved more than one of former. In particular, Except that DE of EGMEA is ACF 88.5%, DE of the rest of it is more than 95% which is recommend standard MDHS 72. With the result of this study, in order to measure various organic solvent occurring from the working environment, in the case of thermal desorption method, we can get the accurate exposure assessment, reduce the cost, and use ACF as thermal desorption sorbent which available with easy.

아질산성 질소의 현장 분석 방법 개발에 관한 기초 연구 (Feasibility Study of On-site Analysis on Nitrite)

  • 본 연구는 아질산성 질소의 간이분석을 위한 기초 연구로 수행되었다. 수중 질소는 부영양화를 유발하는 암모니아, 아질산 및 질산으로 주로 구성되어 있다. 질소화합물을 제거하기 위한 많은 연구들이 진행되었고, 이에 따른 분석기술도 발달했다. 현장 모니터링을 위한 간이 분석방법의 개발은 수질관리를 위해 필요하므로, 본 연구는 아질산성 질소의 현장 분석법 개발을 위해 진행되었다. BCDMA와 바이페닐로 코팅된 PVC 흡착 칼럼을 이용한 아질산성 질소 분석의 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 흡착칼럼내의 흡착제는 4~20 $mgNO_2-N/L$ 범위내에서 발색길이를 나타내었고, 흡광도는 pH의 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Laboratory-scale membrane bioreactor added alum into the anaerobic basin as a flocculant and adsorbent was carried out to find removal efficient of nitrogen and phosphorus components in the mixed liquid and weather or not maintaining the stability for the permeate flux and pressure at various internal recycle conditions. It was found that denitrification efficient of maximum 65% was obtained when the ratio of internal recycle was 3Q. Additionally when the ratio of internal recycle was fixed at 3Q, $BOD_5$ and T-P concentration of permeate was much more reduced compared to not added alum in anaerobic basin but T-N concentration of permeate was relatively increased. In case of added alum as the flocculant and adsorbent in anaerobic basin, the permeate flux was maintained above $10{\ell}/m^2/hr$ but the permeate pressure was relatively higher than alum was not added in anaerobic basin.

활성탄소섬유상에서 CH4/CO2 혼합가스의 흡착 특성 (Adsorption Characteristics of $CH_4/CO_2$ Mixed Gases on Activated Carbon Fibers)

  • An adsorption process to recover the pure $CH_4\;and\;CO_2$ from its mixture was examined. In this study, activated carbon fibers were used as a selective adsorbent. The activated carbon fibers has 78~94% micropore volume and 10.5~20.3${\AA}$ narrow pore size, and showed high adsorption rate and the good selectivity for $CO_2$ under the ambient pressure. The ACF with high surface area showed short mass transfer zone and long breakthrough time and, its adsorption capacity depended on the microporosity. Compared with single component adsorption, the amount adsorbed $CO_2$ on ACF increased by the roll-up of $CH_4$ in mixed gases. The adsorption selectivity increased as now rate and $CO_2$ concentration of mixed gases increased, showing 5.2 selectivity for 75% $CO_2$ concentration.
