  • Microencapsulated pcm (MPCM) particles are mixed with distilled water and utilized to evaluate its characteristics and performance as a thermal storage medium transporting heat. For the present study, tetradecane ($C_14$$H_30$, $T_m$=5.5$^{\circ}C$) is capsulated in the core, coated with the melamine for their surface. The size of particles is well-controlled under 10$\mu$m in the process of in-situ polymerization with melamine-formaldehyde resin. For the experiment, the concentractions of slurries are prepared for 20 wt%, 30 wt%, and 40 wt%. The results are compared with those of water and 100% tetradecane oil. The pure water and tetradecane start solidifying within 20 minutes after introducing cooling water into the thermal storage tank whose flow rates are varied by 125 cc/min, 250 cc/min, and 500 cc/min. However, MPCM slurries are required relatively longer period of time for their phase change than pure phase change materials. That is, the entrained MPCM particles restrict their heat transfer in terms of natural convection and conduction to them.

  • To introduce flux pinning center in HTS-BSCCO system, nano-size MgO particles were uniformly distributed within the Bi-2223 grain by partial hydration of MgO. The existing method MgO doped Bi-2223 used nato-size MgO powders, which resulted in agglomeration during mixing or grain growth during heat-treatment due to the high surface energy of the fine particles. By hydration of the MgO surface, the agglomeration of the MgO powders was avoided and the size of remaining MgO core was controlled by changing hydration medium and time. The thin film obtained by spin coating of (Bi_$1.8/Pb_{0.4}$)$Sr_2$$_{Ca}$$2.2/Cu_3$ $O_{y}$ nitrate solution mixed with hydrated MgO showed the even distribution of nano-size MgO particles in the Bi-2212 grains.s.s.

  • We have measured the Hall effect in infinite-layer Sr/sub 0.9/La/sub 0.1/$CuO_2$ thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy. We do not observe $T^{2}$ dependence of the cotangent of Hall angle, which is commonly observed in other cuprate High-Tc superconductors. Therefore, this result cannot be interpreted within two different scattering mechanism based on charge-spin separation theory. The mixed-state Hall effect shows no sign anomaly, implying that tile hydrodynamic contribution of vortex core is negligibly small.

  • One of the controversial issues in English locative inversion (LI) construction( e. g. Under the tree sat a woman) has been the functional status of preverbal PP and postverbal NP, i.e. whether they are a subject, a complement, or filer (topic) Based on the distributional parallelisms between the PP and NP on the one hand and an ordinary subject and filler on the other this paper proposes that the PP has a dual function as a subject and filler, while the NP also has some subject properties that the PP does not have These mixed functional properties are analyzed in the theory of HPSG expecially with the versions recently developed by Sag(1997) Manning and Sag(1999) and Ginzburg and Sag(to appear). This analysis claims that the LI construction needs to satisfy two general, independent constraints head-subject- phrase and head-filler-phrase. This position suggests that the English LI construction is an instance of the peripheral phenomena whose construction specific constraint is inherited from more general core constraints. • In this study, there are kind of property experiments like fluidity, compressive strength, bleeding measurement, concrete sink for CFT use high fluidity concrete. The property difference between before transmit and after transmit concrete in the mock up test with ready mixed concrete equipment is examined. The variable factors in mock up are diaphragm existence and nonexistence, diaphragm placing hole sizes. To investing the concrete Property under diaphragm, concrete packing ability, hydration heat, core specimen strength tests are performed.

  • Business process redesign(BPR) has been widely adopted as an organizational change method since 1990s as the competitive pressures have forced organizations to constantly change. Although BPR has provided successful stories to gain dramatic improvement in performance and has been promoted as an enabler of organizational change, many organizations have faced serious challenges with widely mixed results due to the lack of understanding for potential organizational conflicts and the improper targeting of critical processes in the initial stage of BPR. This paper proposes a cognitive map based method to help organizational members identify potential organizational conflicts, capture core business activities, and suggests guidelines to lead to the necessary organizational change. A computerized tool has been developed to support the real world cases. Working procedure of the proposed method is illustrated with its application to the real BPR project of a dairy company.

  • Traffic conditions, in particular number of active TCP flows, change dramatically over time. The main goal of this paper is an adaptive queue management algorithm that can maintain network state of high-throughput and low-delay under changing traffic conditions In this paper, we devise Probability Adaptive RED(PARED) that combines the more effective elements of recent algorithms with a RED core. It automatically adjusts its adaptive marking function to account for changes in traffic load and to keep queue length within the desired target queue length. We simulate that PARED algorithm results in under changes in traffic load and mixed traffic load. The simulation test confirm this stability, and indicate that overall performances of PARED are substantially better than the RED and ARED algorithms.

  • The MPEG-D unified speech and audio coding (USAC) standardization process was initiated by MPEG to develop an audio codec that is able to provide consistent quality for mixed speech and music contents. The current USAC reference model structure consists of frequency domain (FD) and linear prediction domain (LPD) core modules and is controlled using a signal classifier tool. In this letter, we propose an LPD single-mode USAC structure using an adaptive widowing-based transform-coded excitation module. We tested our system using official test items for all mono-evaluation modes. The results of the experiment show that the objective and subjective performances of the proposed single-mode USAC system are better than those of the FD/LPD dual-mode USAC system.

  • Testing of analog(and mixed-signal) circuits has been a difficult task for test engineers and effective test techniques to solve these problems are required. This paper develops a new technique which increases fault detection and diagnosis rates for analog circuits by using extended MTSS (Modified Time Slot Specification) technique based on MTSS proposed by the author. High performance current sensors with digital outputs are used as core components for these techniques. A fault diagnosis structure with minimal hardware overhead in ATE is also described.

  • Chip breaker of cutting tool is an important feature to enhance cutting performance. Powder injection molding process was used to produce a triangular-shape cermet grooving insert which has three chip breakers. Attrition milled cermet powders were mixed with wax-based binder system in continuous twin screw extruder. Three-plate injection mold with slide cores was used to produce injection-molded parts. After molding, solvent and thermal debinding was carried out. Sintering was conducted in a batch furnace with a graphite heater. The sintered parts satisfy the requirements of dimensional tolerances and material properties.
