Environment artworks occupy the diverse spaces of architecture not as one of ornaments or supplementaries to edifice but as a main subject of architectural effect. The application of artworks in architectural design, such as paintings or sculptures including installation art possesses social and historical functions as well as contextual meaning. In Korea the interest of environment artworks has increased since early 1980s, during which large projects began to establish. However environment artworks have been selected merely by the owner's preference or the artist's aesthetic value without collaboration with architects or interior architects, who are willing to allow the minimal units of signification to architectural space. The purpose of the study is to prove the importance of environment artworks in spatial design of architecture. The essence intrinsic to design issue will be defined by proposing the selection factors for environment artworks to escalate the value of architectural space, so that we can expect not only the unification of art and architecture but also the accordance between artistry and publicity.
This study explored roles of the ornament in contemporary furniture that contemporary furniture designers make their furniture different, convey a metaphorical message, and competitive. Contemporary furniture involved in the ornament is decorative, beautiful, and characterized by craftsmanship through eclecticism and pluralism reestablished in furniture design in the postmodern era. Also, the ornament has been presented in the context of the blurring of art/craft distinctions. Thus, the contemporary furniture is called as art furniture/craft furniture which is diverse from minimal decoration to maximal decoration. Hence, by using all of the ornamental context, the furniture designers try to satisfy and communicate with the largest possible number of people, and have numerous opportunities to select according to their characteristics or taste. Finally, their furniture in the futuristic mode may be cross-cultural work that everybody in the earth can understand, enjoy, and appreciate in his/her daily space through his/her everyday use.

In this paper, fuzzy-ARTMAP neural network is applied for compensating the nonlinearity of satellite communication channel. The fuzzy-ARTMAP is made of using fuzzy logic and ART neural network. By a match tracking process with vigilance parameter, fuzzy ARTMAP neural network achieves a minimax learning rule that minimizes predictive error and maximizes generalization. Thus, the system automatically learns a minimal number of recognition categories, or hidden units, to meet accuracy criteria. Simulation studies are performed over satellite nonlinear channels. The performance of proposed fuzzy-ARTMAP equalizer is compared with MLP-basis equalizers.

This paper discusses the application of fuzzy-ARTMAP neural network to compensate the nonlinearity of satellite communication channel. The fuzzy-ARTMAP is the class of ART(adaptive resonance theory) architectures designed fur supervised loaming. It has capabilities not fecund in other neural network approaches, that includes a small number of parameters, no requirements fur the choice of initial weights, automatic increase of hidden units, and capability of adding new data without retraining previously trained data. By a match tracking process with vigilance parameter, fuzzy-ARTMAP neural network achieves a minimax teaming rule that minimizes predictive error and maximizes generalization. Thus, the system automatically leans a minimal number of recognition categories, or hidden units, to meet accuracy criteria. As a input-converting process for implementing fuzzy-ARTMAP equalizer, the sigmoid function is chosen to convert actual channel output to the proper input values of fuzzy-ARTMAP. Simulation studies are performed over satellite nonlinear channels. QPSK signals with Gaussian noise are generated at random from Volterra model. The performance of proposed fuzzy-ARTMAP equalizer is compared with MLP equalizer.
This paper attempts to interpret the meaning of Mies van der Rohe's famous aphorism that "less is more" in terms of space. From his assertion that the art of building is the spatial execution of spiritual decisions, one can presume that his art of building was revealed through his spatial execution consciously guided by creative principles. One of his spatial principles was less is more a representative motto for the creation of sparsely furnished space with few objects and little perceptible architecture. After his awareness of an open plan, Mies intended to create less architecture by designing a minimal form of structural frames and maximum openness of open plans and glazed walls. This study posits that Mies created more potential space, for which he intended his open plans and neutral frames to be viewed as less. His building was designed to serve as the background of works of art and the changing nature outside so restrained its own existential voice in favor of the achievement of total harmony.

The globalization of Korean culture has spurred a steady increase in the participation of domestic fashion designers in global performance art. This study analyzes the formal elements of stage costume designs by fashion designers, and further evaluates the impact of these designers' aesthetic philosophies on overall performance. This analysis seeks to provide a foundation for the development of new directionality in performance art, with an enhanced competitiveness derived from diversity and creativity. The scope of this research spans 15 performances and eight fashion designers' works in the post-2010s era. These performances are characterized by their break from traditional artistic norms, illustrating the modernization of the performing arts and reflecting the designers' aesthetic philosophies. This modernization incorporates inspirations drawn from a diverse selection of movements, such as fusion, culture clash, kitsch, and minimal avant-garde. As a result, in combination with a pure reflection of the designers' aesthetics, these designs heighten overall performance, suggest a new direction for traditional performance art, tap into a popular sensibility to expand communication to a wider audience, and push the boundaries of tradition through artistic innovation.
In the modern fashion industry, the application of different materials along with an emotional design is emerging as an important factor stimulating consumer sentiment. This has led to the diversity of materials and continued active research on materials. Traditional Korean paper is expressed in various ways in the field of visual arts based on Korean sentiment and unique formative characteristics. Hanji costumes have been produced in various ways over the past 20 years utilizing Hanji's physical characteristics, showing unique surface texture and various techniques that differentiate them from existing fabrics, making it symbolic in expanding the area of fashion materials. In this work, various techniques were developed by utilizing the nonwoven characteristics and excellent variability of Hanji while considering visual images, focusing on the delicate decorations and materialistic representations of wedding dresses. In addition, minimal wedding dresses with unique textures were produced to realize fantasy ideas and show surface aesthetics, confirming as a fashion material different from that of existing wedding dresses. The direction of high value-added creation for the industrialization and globalization of Hanji wedding dresses was presented, and the usefulness and scalability of Hanji materials for practical and industrialization were identified in materials that expressed visual art. To in the fashion industry, which is changing in both the wedding industry and the global market, the development of materials with high sensitivity images and original and solid identity should continue.
The historian called Peter Burger divided it into historical avant-garde before and after the first World War (Dadaism, Futurist, Geometric Abstract, etc.) and Neo- avant-garde during the period of forming social foundation that would be ready to accept new forms of art in the USA, the center of capitalism, after the 2nd World War such as pop art and conceptual art including the then emerging avant-garde minimal art. Meanwhile, he interpreted that Neo- avant-garde succeeded the spirit of historical avant-garde. For modem furniture, the avant-garde terminologies are discussed from the aspect of epistemology or symbolism. On the other hand, they would be exclusively used for advertising slogans, however, it is considered as difficult due to vague terms or their characteristics. This study relates the points of historians such as Peter Burger for theoretical proposal and Richard Kostelanetz's point for formal issues, and contracts and arranges the avant-garde terminologies and its characteristics to the meaning of "getting out of the present decadent trend - aiming for future", "transcending the present aesthetic custom - renovation" and "violating the rules already established in the process of entering new areas - freshness of unfairness". The study was meaningful in providing fundamental clues based on the historical discussion and artists for Neo- avant-garde in the 1960s, that is, the mainstream of design at the end of the 20th century in the period when an avant-garde oriented alternative in the 21st century design has been sincerely required overflowed with the fin de siecle phenomenon.
The standing plaster figure entitled is an early work from Choi Man Lin's 'Eve' series. It reflects the aesthetics of abstract sculpture in the period following Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule. Modern and contemporary sculptures can be made from a wide variety of materials, so the particular selection of materials and expressive techniques are indicative of both the artist's intentions and the zeitgeist of the moment. In this regard, the materials and production techniques used in provide important basic data for the chronological study of Choi's artistic development. In this study, scientific analysis was conducted to reveal the production techniques used in the work. The scope of appropriate conservation treatment was decided through consultation between several people with decision-making authority. First, the internal structure was inspected using X-CT scanning, and a material analysis was conducted to identify the formal characteristics, materials, and production techniques found in the work. As the analyses revealed the work to be in a relatively stable state, only minimal conservation treatment was applied based on the opinions expressed by the institution housing the work, by a former assistant of the artist, and in an interview granted by the artist during his lifetime.
The purpose of this study is to offer a new inspiration for fashion design relating the "Romanticism" in art to one in fasion-examining the circumstance expressionad the latest trend which is involved with it. Since. 1990. Romanticism is motivated and represented in the middle of aridity in this age which is going on the end (of age). To say the details Romanticism in fashion is represented modernly in the compound of social grounds cultures and new techniques. Romanticism in fashion is represented modernly in the compound of social grounds cultures and new techniques. Romanticism in fashion is classified in four categories : Retro Avantgarde, Minimal and Ethnic. First Retro mood in Romanticism is represented by reappearing the costumes in medieval Renaissance Baroque Rococo, Romantic era Specially corsets crinolines bustle decorative ribbons frills and Medieval symbols in religion are important factors in intuitional symbolic Romanticism. Second Avantgrde mood in Romanticism is mainly represented in the oriental patterns colors items being motivated by Eastern customs images and cultures. Today they appear in modern concept reinterpreting 'fusion" "hybrid" and "cross-over". Romanticism in fashion is creating new forms and beauties absorbing the past and the present. In addition it is motivated by the nostalgic mood. the expectation for the future and the refineent. Romanticism would be an important fashion theme to offer new inspirations for the fashion in 21th century rather than remain at the reappearance.er than remain at the reappearance.
