  • Open reduction and anatomic reduction can create better function for the temporomandibular joint, compared with closed treatment in mandible fracture surgery. Therefore, the double miniplate fixation technique via mini-retromandibular incision was used in order to make the most stable fixation when performing subcondylar fracture surgery. Those approaches provide good visualization of the subcondyle from the posterior edge of the ramus, allow the surgeon to work perpendicularly to the fracture, and enable direct fracture management. Understanding the biomechanical load in the fixation of subcondylar fractures is also necessary in order to optimize fixation methods. Therefore, we measured the biomechanical loads of four different plate fixation techniques in the experimental model regarding mandibular subcondylar fractures. It was found that the loads measured in the two-plate fixation group with one dynamic compression plate (DCP) and one adaption plate showed the highest deformation and failure loads among the four fixation groups. The loads measured in the one DCP plate fixation group showed higher deformation and failure loads than the loads measured in the two adaption plate fixation group. Therefore, we conclude that the selection of the high profile plate (DCP) is also important in order to create a stable load in the subcondylar fracture.

  • In this paper, we propose a preprocess method to needs for Car License Plate Recognition on poor environment. This preprocess method use multi images to get low value to compare images value. Last method was Opening operation that Using Edge pixel to add and subtraction. The Result was removed White pixel and very mini feather. But This method needs many process times and License Plate Recognition is low quality problem. Another method is median filter and conversion. This paper key idea that rain & snow is high value. So This paper propose get low value to compare image value.

  • The purpose of this research is to develope a algorithm characterizing the grasp of the randomly fed objects using the tactile sensor. The tactile sensor used is composed of the 10 x 16 arrays of optical sensors and the planar resolution is 1.8 x 1.8 mm$^{2}$. The square and circular plate are used for the investigation of the characteristics of this sensor. The result shows that the measuring performance of the square plate is superior to that of the circular plate. Based upon this result the algorithm for the assembly of the electric plug was developed and was implemented using the mini-robot.

  • The paper explores the potential of applicability of Genetic programming approach (GP), adopted in this investigation, to model the combined effects of five independent variables to predict the mini-slump, the plate cohesion meter, the induced bleeding test, the J-fiber penetration value, and the compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of self-compacting slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON). The variables investigated were the proportions of limestone powder (LSP) and sand, the dosage rates of superplasticiser (SP) and viscosity modifying agent (VMA), and water-to-binder ratio (W/B). Twenty eight mixtures were made with 10-50% LSP as replacement of cement, 0.02-0.06% VMA by mass of cement, 0.6-1.2% SP and 50-150% sand (% mass of binder) and 0.42-0.48 W/B. The proposed genetic models of the self-compacting SIFCON offer useful modelling approach regarding the mix optimisation in predicting the fluidity, the cohesion, the bleeding, the penetration, and the compressive strength.

  • This study was initiated to evaluate the cooling performance of CAC (charged air cooler) and radiator in the engine room of a mini bus. So we had firstly to predict the mass flow rate coming from radiator grille and front bum per opening using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation based on 3D configuration. And simulations were carried out for different cooling module layout and bum per opening hole size on sam e vehicle operating condition. Simulation results show that CAC cooling performance at reverse protecting plate-applying model was much efficient than that of the bum per opening hole size-increasing model in IMTD point of view. Part of the CFD simulation results was com pared to with experimental data. It was confirm ed that the CFD approach using STAR-CD based on pursuing no-com promise solution could provide design engineers with useful design information in the early design stage of vehicle development.

  • In this study, the strength stability of an LPG mini tank with a storage capacity of about 250 kg was analyzed by FEM. According to the results of the FEM analysis, it is preferable that the corner radius of the LPG mini tank having a storage capacity of 250 kg is designed to be 175 to 205 mm. Generally, the larger the corner radius of the end plate of the gas storage tank, the higher the safety of the strength, but the volume or capacity of the tank is reduced. Therefore, it is important to derive the optimum design data. Further, in order to securely design the strength of the gas tank, the thickness of the tank is designed to be thick. However, when the thick steel sheet is used, the material and the transportation costs are increased. The result shows that it is preferable to select the optimum thickness of the steel sheet from 4.5 to 5.5 mm. Using the level gauge type of column on the central axis of the gas tank, the safety strength of the LPG tank can be enhanced as much as twice, compared with the tank of the existing level gauge to measure the liquid level by piercing the side wall of the tank.

  • This paper deals with an experimental investigation to study the effect of fibre content on the stability of composite plates with various aspect ratios. Epoxy based glass fibre reinforced composite plates with aspect ratio varying from 0.4 to 1 and with volume fractions of 0.36, 0.4, 0.46, 0.49 and 0.55 are used for the investigation. From the study it is observed that for plate with aspect ratio of 0.5 and 0.4 there is no buckling and the plate got crushed at the middle. As the volume fraction increases the buckling load also increases to a limit and then began to reduce with further increase in fibre content. The optimum range of fibre content for maximum stability is found between 0.49 and 0.55. Polynomial expressions are developed for the study of buckling behaviour of composite plates with different volume fractions in terms of load and aspect ratio.

  • This study evaluated retrospectively the treatment method and postoperative complications of communited mandibular fractures. We analyzed the clinical and radiologic data of 14 patients with the comminuted mandibular fractures who were admitted to Chosun University Dental Hospital from January 1998 to December 2003. We reviewed the cause of trauma, fracture sites, treatment methods, and postoperative complications. Thirteen patients (93%) had a successful treatment outcome without complications. Only one patient developed postoperative osteomyelitis requiring early plate removal and sequestrectomy. For the comminuted fractures of mandible, internal fixation using micro- or mini-plate was an effective treatment method with a low incidence of major complications.
