The researcher made up the questionnaire which asks the general character, health-related character and yangseng level, projected among 560 people. All collected material was analyzed by SPSS and tested by T-test and ANOVA. 1. The general yangseng level average is 3.27, morality yangseng 3.90, sleep yangseng 3.39, mind yangseng 3.31, sex life yangseng 3.30, exercise yangseng 3.15, activities and rest yangseng 3.08, diet yangseng 2.94, seasonal yangseng 2.84. The highest is morality yangseng and seasonal yangseng is the lowest. 2. In the aspect of yangseng level: Having a spouse, Non-smoking, Regular exercising, Sufficient sleeping have higher yangseng levels. 3. Obesity related index is changing into the higher level when he/she is older, more paid, more job experience, more education background but less metabolic calory. And drinking and regular exercising have relativity with body composition analysis. 4. After comparing yangseng level with body composition analysis, we can easily find that the more visceral fat, the higher WHR has a high yangseng level. The more mineral also has a high mind yangseng and a low diet yangseng. The visceral fat level has a high yangseng level when higher morality yangseng and mind yangseng are getting higher and higher. And sex life yangseng shows that the highest yangseng level is from 9-10 visceral fat and the lowest yangseng level is from below 4 visceral fat. The higher WHR, the higher morality, mind and sleep yangseng. The heavier, the lower diet yangseng. The mind yangseng was very high when body fat rate was higher. The more body fat, the higher morality yangseng. The higher yangseng, when we have more muscle. Yangseng level and obesity of laborer has a close relationship with individual character and daily habits. Also, relevance can be easily found between yangseng level and obesity. Now the researcher came into the conclusion that we need to control over laborers' health and prevention of their obesity.

  • Greeting the 100 year celebration of the death of Master Dong-mu, through investigating his thoght on Scholarship and Philosophy, and his new view of human being based on Sasang, I tried to reevaluate him as a Confucianist of practical mind. The conclusions were as followings ; 1. Dong-mu's recognition system of things is that based on the mind of summarizing things in view of Affair-Mind-Body-Object originated from Confucianism, and It developed 'the Marvel of Easiness & simpleness based on Yin-yang' into 'the Marvel of Easiness & simpleness based on Sasang' 2 Through understanding old Confucianism newly, Dong-mu summarized human being as having a natural character in view of Nature and Order and an autonomical character in view of Knowledge and Deed, and emphasized an autonomical character in view of Knowledge and Deed 3. In view of Knowledge and Deed, Dong-mu presented How to Say and Behave, and took it as a model of behavior in the new Confucianism. Also he presented the view of Knowledge and Deed based on Constitutions, and took it as a new mind of treatment. 4. Dong-mu can be estimated highly, in that he completed a new confucian view-point of Human being in the period of philosophic chaos, and executed the mind of General health maintenance and the mind of control others through a confucian self-control.

  • Cupping therapy (CT) is used in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East and is prevalent in Muslim communities where it is recommended by the Prophet of Islam. The majority of modern, medical practitioners interested in CT, view it as a medical technique and distance themselves from the mechanisms proposed by traditional medicine. However, modern medicine does not offer a valid explanation for the mechanisms involved in CT. There is growing evidence of CT's effectiveness, specifically in chronic pain management when compared to an inactive control, but not against sham treatment. CT accompanied by religion and prayer, as it is in Muslim communities, cannot be considered to be equivalent to any procedures in modern medicine. "Whole System Research" may be the most appropriate trial design to test the ancient practice of CT efficacy whilst pending development of a novel placebo for assessing the connectivity of body and mind interventions.

  • Sasang Constitutional Medicine (SCM) is based on the theory of Sasang (Taeyang, Soyang, Taeum, Soeum) in Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM). It is hypothesized that all of the things in the material world can be divided into the four categories of SCM. We made a new attempt to combine nutritive components, and patterns in physical activities with SCM. At first, we hypothetically divided the nutrients into 4 compartments according to SCM theory, and human body composition as well. These factors could be basically related to Sasangin Exercise Treatment (SET). Therefore, we applied sasangin theory to exercise prescription. As a research method, we hypothesized that human beings' types can be distinguished by mind and body. Mind was focused on exercise psychological aspects, and body also handled by nutrients, body compositions, body shapes, and exercise physiological aspects. For application of sasang theory to the exercise prescriptions, Taeumin as a sample sasangin was selected in this study. We concluded that in perspective of general traits, Taeumin have to reduce their carbohydrate intake volume, but greatly increase their intake of vitamins, minerals, and water in daily diet. They are also recommended exercises that can increase cardiorespiratory function and make them sweat, like endurance running, hiking, swimming, cycling, etc.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the basic medicine of the Gojoseon(古朝鮮) dynasty, especially 5 fields which are the theory of yin-yang(陰陽論), the theory of 5 progressive phasis(五行論), the theory of mind-body(心身論), Seon-gyo(仙敎), acupuncture(鍼術). The theory of yin-yang can be studied in the point of contents of it, not the name of it. Whan-in(桓因) is the god of sky, Woong(熊) is the god of earth. Whan-woong(桓雄), who is the son of Whan-in(桓因), came down from the sky, turned into a man. Woong(熊) lived in the cave, eating garlic and wormwood for 21days, got out of it and turned into a woman. The changes occurred by the mutual aid of Whan-woong and Woong. The theory of 5 progressive phasis can be founded in the archery. The bow and arrow is made of cucumber, horn and ligament of cow, glue made from airbladders of sciaenoid fish, which belong to mock(木). Beejeongbeepal(非丁非八) and make strong one's abdomen(腹實) belong ti soo(水), empty out one's chest(胞虛) belongs to whar(畵), thrusting(前推泰山) belongs to mock(木), shooting(發如虎尾) belongs to geom(金). Basically mind and body have no differance. Mind without body does not exist. Exocism excites the exorcist to the condition of whar(火). There are 3 parts, as treaLment, prevent, regimen, in the medicine. 2 parts as idealism and realism are in regimen. Seon-gyo(仙敎) belongs to the idealism of regimen. In China, is became Taoism(仙敎) later The art of accupunture was developed in the Gulf of pohair(渤海灣).

  • The Mandala art therapy is used as a clinical method for helping patients to perceive their internal existence and to maintain harmonious between body and mind. Despite the fact that Mandala is congruous with the oriental philosophy, there are few studies that approach Mandala from the view point of the oriental medicine. Method : This study looks into the Maudala art therapy from the perspective of Yin-Yang Wuxiug(陰陽五行) and examines the possibility of using Mandala art therapy in the oriental medical practice. Results : In Analyzing the symbols of Mandala, the lines can be interpreted in terms of Yin and Yang, and the preferences for colors and the style of expression can be interpreted in terms of the body organs associated with colors and emotions in Wuxing. In addition, the clinical effects of Mandala, such as body-mind harmony and self-examination, are congruous with the Suncbeondo(先天圖) of the oriental medicine primer. Conclusion : The Mandala art therapy bas a potential to be used for medical diagnosis and treatment in the oriental medicine. Therefore, it is necessary to research and develop various Mandala art programs and assess their effectiveness through applications to medical cases.
