Based on the known results of the expected busy periods for the triadic Min (N, T, D) and Max (N, T, D) operating policies applied to a controllable M/G/1 queueing model, a relation between them is constructed. Such relation is represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the simple N, T and D, and the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (T, D) and Min (N, D) operating policies. Hence, if any system characteristics for one of the two triadic operating policies are known, unknown corresponding system characteristics for the other triadic operating policy could be obtained easily from the constructed relation.

Using the known result of the expected busy period for the triadic Min (N, T, D) operating policy applied to a controllable M/G/1 queueing model, its upper and lower bounds are derived to approximate its corresponding actual value. Both bounds are represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (N, D) and Min (T, D) and simple N, T and D operating policies. All three input variables N, T and D are equally contributed to construct such bounds for better approximations.

Using the known result of the expected busy period for the triadic Med (N, T, D) operating policies applied to a controllable M/G/1 queueing model, its upper and lower bounds are derived to approximate its corresponding actual values. Both bounds are represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (N, D) and Min (T, D) or Max (N, T), Max (N, D) and Max (T, D) with the simple N, T and D operating policies without using any other types of triadic operating policies such as Min (N, T, D) and Max (N, T, D) policies. All three input variables N, T and D are equally contributed to construct such bounds for estimation of the expected busy period.

The experiments were conducted to fine out the handling characteristics of the FMT(Frame Mideater Trawl) in the southern waters of Korea using a trawler "DONGBAEK" belongs to Yosu National University. The realtionship between the net depth D(m) and the warp length L(m) at the towing speeds of 2.5k't and 3.5k't werw as follows ; D(m) = 0.30L - 1.3(2.5k't), D(m) = 0.16L - 1.5(3.5k't). Therefore, the net depth was 3.0m deeper when the warp length was 10m longer at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 1.6m deeper for 10m longer at the speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The sinking speed of FMT was 6.5m/min when the warp releasing speed was 24m/min at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 3.8m/min for 25m/min at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The rising speed of FMT was 6.9m/min when the warp rewinding speed was 28m/min at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 5.3m/min for 25m/min at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The mean elapsed time getting to the stable towing condition was 104sec at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 105sec at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively, and there was no time difference for the towing speed variation. During the towing, the net depth was comparatively stable on the condition of no change for the warp length and the towing speed.
Purpose : It is well known that suspension microlaryngeal surgery produces marked increases in arterial blood pressure and heart rate. In this study, we evaluated the effects of 10% lidocaine preoperatively sprayed for attenuation of the perioperative hemodynamic response during suspension microlaryngeal surgery. Materials and Methods : Fifty American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) class 1 patients scheduled for excision of a vocal polyp by suspension laryngoscopy were randomly divided into two groups (n=25 for each group). They were intubated without 10% lidocaine spray (control group) or given 1.5 mg/kg of 10% lidocaine sprayed onto the pharyngolaryngeal and intratracheal sites 90 sec prior to intubation (10% lidocaine group). Anesthesia was maintained using desflurane in $O_2/N_2O$ 50%. The arterial blood pressure and heart rate were measured at preinduction (T0), 1 min (T1), 3 min (T2), 5 min (T3) after tracheal intubation, and 1 min (T4), 3 min (T5), 5 min (T6) and 10 min (T7) after the suspension laryngoscopy. Results : In the 10% lidocaine group, the arterial blood pressure and heart rate at 1 (T1), 3 (T2) min after tracheal intubation and 1 (T4), and 3 (T5) min after suspension laryngoscopy were lower than the same measurements in the control group. Conclusion : 10% lidocaine sprayed onto the pharyngolaryngeal and intratracheal sites before intubation was an effective method for attenuation of the perioperative hemodynamic response during suspension microlaryngeal surgery.
Four genes (yqfR, yfmL, ydbR, deaD) were identified as putative DEAD-box RNA helicase genes in the genomic sequence of Bacillus subtilis by homology search. To understand the function of these genes, each of the genes was deleted and the constructed strains were tested for their growth charateristics at different temperatures. The growth rate of ydbR deletion mutant ($T_d$=53 min) was a little bit reduced at $37^{\circ}C$ as compared to that of wild type strain (CU1065). But the growth rate of other three (yqfR, yfmL, deaD) deletion mutants ($T_d$=30-40 min) is nearly equal to the growth rate of wild type ($T_d$=32 min). On the other hands, the growth rate of deletion mutants were reduced at $22^{\circ}C$ in order of yqfR ($T_d$=151 min), yfmL ($T_d$=214 min), ydbR ($T_d$=343 min), which showed cold-sensitive phenotype. The deletion mutant of deaD ($T_d$=109 min) grew equally as compared to the growth rate ($T_d$=102 min) of the wild type at $22^{\circ}C$ and did not show cold-sensitive growth. Double, triple and quadruple deletion mutants of these genes were constructed, and growth rate of these mutants were measured at various temperature conditions ($22^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$, $42^{\circ}C$) using LB broth. Multiple deletion mutations showed more severe cold-sensitive growth than single deletion mutations, and double deletion of ydbR and yfmL ($T_d$=984 min) showed most cold-sensitive growth than any other double mutants. Such a cold-sensitive growth of these mutations is quite similar to the result of csdA or srmB deletion in E. coli and suggested that physiological role of ydbR and yfmL is related with ribosome assembly.
This paper proposes an Internet of Things (IoT) middleware called Middleware for Cooperative Interaction of Things (MinT). MinT supports a fully distributed IoT environment in which IoT devices directly connect to peripheral devices, easily constructing a local or global network and sharing their data in an energy efficient manner. MinT provides a sensor abstract layer, a system layer and an interaction layer. These layers enable integrated sensing device operations, efficient resource management, and interconnection between peripheral IoT devices. In addition, MinT provides a high-level API, allowing easy development of IoT devices by developers. We aim to enhance the energy efficiency and performance of IoT devices through the performance improvements offered by MinT resource management and request processing. The experimental results show that the average request rate increased by 25% compared to existing middlewares, average response times decreased by 90% when resource management was used, and power consumption decreased by up to 68%. Finally, the proposed platform can reduce the latency and power consumption of IoT devices.
A total of 486 milk records were collected from 16 diary farms in Imsil-gun, Jeollabuk-do. Results obtained were as follows: The average 3MG (amount of milk within the first three minute) was 7.44 kg and 55% of total milk yield was produced within 3 min. The average of SPL (% of foam in milk) was 33.93% and the average of MNG (strip yield) was 0.14 kg, which was less than 1% of total milk yield. The averages of HMF (highest milk flow), HMG (maximum milk flow rate in one minute) and DMHG (average milk flow in the main milking phase) were 3.03 kg/min, 2.94 kg/min and 2.05 kg/min, respectively and the average milking speed in Imsil-gun was slower than other regions. The average of tS500(time to reach 0.5 kg/min at beginning) was 0.23min (about 14 seconds) and that of tMGG (duration of the total milking) was 7.75min. The average tMBG (duration of the dry milking phase) was 0.58 min (35 seconds) and that of tMNG (duration of the stripping phase) was 0.42min (14 seconds). The averages of ELHMF (electrical conductivity at highest milk flow) and ELAP (beginning peak level of the electrical conductivity) were 6.81 mS/cm and 7.58 mS/cm, respectively. The average of ELMAX (maximum electrical conductivity) was 7.48 mS/cm and that of ELAD (beginning peak difference of the electrical conductivity) was 0.61 mS/cm. While the total milk yields for DMHG, tMHG (duration of the main milking phase), tPL (duration of the plateau phase), tAB (duration of the descending phase) and tMGG were positively correlated (0.35~0.54), those for tMBG and SPL were negatively correlated (-0.11 and -0.27). As the DMHG increased, tMHG, tPL, tAB, tMGG and SPL decreased. While the cows with higher electrical conductivity at the beginning of milking had less somatic cell counts, cows with higher electrical conductivity after the peak of milk yield had more somatic cell counts. The results of this experiment indicated that through milking based on milking and lactating standards and the regular checking of milking status, the qualities of milk and milk yields could be improved.
The authors observed functional change of the CBD and the afferent loop with the transit time of $^{99m}Tc-DISIDA$ scintigram in patients treated by the surgical operation of gastric ulcers and cancer at Busan National University Hospital from June, 1987 to April, 1988. So authors estimated the time between the peak activity of the CBD and the afferent loop (TCA), the half transit time of the CBD activity (t 1/2 CBD) and the half transit time of the afferent loop activity (t 1/2 A-loop) in 9 patients undergone truncal vagotomy, who have no specific symptoms at 2 to 6 months after the operation, 5 patients undergone the operation without truncal vagotomy, and 7 persons as a control group. The results were as follows: I) In control group, the mean TCA, t 1/2 CBD and t 1/2 duodenum were $8.6{\pm}9.0$ min, $38.7{\pm}17.3$ min. and $28.6{\pm}10.9$ min, respectively. 2) In the operation group without truncal vagotomy, the mean TCA, t 1/2 CBD and t 1/2 A-loop were $10.0{\pm}7.1$ min. $48.2{\pm}22.3$ min. and $39.4{\pm}26.7$ min. respectively. 3) In the operation group with truncal vagotomy, the mean TCA, t 1/2 CBD and t 1/2 A-loop were $15.0{\pm}8.7$ min., $36.1{\pm}16.5$ min. and $42.6{\pm}24.4$ min, respectively. From the above results, we concluded that the transit time of the CBD and the afferent loop is not affected by truncal vagotomy.
Sulfamethoxazole particles were microencapsulated using the gelatin-acacia complex coacervation method. Micromeritic properties and dissolution characteristics of the microcapsules were studied. The particle size distribution followed log-normal form. As the hardening time increased, the particle size and wall thickness increased ($45.3-52.0\;{\mu}m$, $2.02-5.12\;{\mu}m$, respectively). This is considered to be due to the cross-linked wall structure of formalized microcapsules which prevents shrinking of gelatin during the dehydration and drying processes. An increase of hardening time clearly delayed the release rate. The in vitro 50% dissolution time $(t_{50})$ for unencapsulated sulfamethoxazole powder was less than 3 min.; for microcapsules hardened for 30 min, the $t_{50}$ was 20.1 min.; for those hardened for 60 min. the $t_{50}$ was 25.0 min.; for those hardened for 120 min., the $t_{50}$ was 35.8 min. The surface of the unhardened microcapsules was smooth and had no cracking or pore penetration. However, the surface of the hardened microcapsules was folded and invaginated.
