  • Educational books commonly use some copyrighted images with various kinds of deformation for helping students understanding. When using several copyrighted images made by merging or editing distortion in legal, we need to pay a charge to original copyright holders for each image. In this paper, we propose an efficient matching algorithm by separating each copyrighted image with the merged and edited type including rotation, illumination change, and change of size. We use the Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) method as a basic feature matching scheme. To improve the matching accuracy, we design a new MIN-MAX similarity in matching stage. With the distorted dataset, the proposed method shows up-to 97% of precision in experiments. Also, we demonstrate that the proposed similarity measure also outperforms compared to other measure which is commonly used.

  • The advent of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has led to their use in numerous applications. Sensors are autonomous in nature and are constrained by limited resources. Designing an autonomous topology with criteria for economic and energy conservation is considered a major goal in WSN. The proposed honey-hive clustering consumes minimum energy and resources with minimal transmission delay compared to the existing approaches. The honey-hive approach consists of two phases. The first phase is an Intra-Cluster Min-Max Discrepancy (ICMMD) analysis, which is based on the local honey-hive data gathering technique and the second phase is Inter-Cluster Frequency Matching (ICFM), which is based on the global optimal data aggregation. The proposed data aggregation mechanism increases the optimal connectivity range of the sensor node to a considerable degree for inter-cluster and intra-cluster coverage with an improved optimal energy conservation.

  • Hausdorff distance(HD) commonly used measures for object matching, and calculates the distance between two point set of pixels in two-dimentional binary images without establishing correspondence. And it is realized as the image filter applying the fuzzy. In this paper, the fuzzy hardware realizes in order to construct the image filter applying HD, also, propose as the method for the noise removal using it in the image. MIN-MAX circuit designs the circuit using MAX-PLUS, and the fuzzy HD hardware results are obtained to the simulation. And then, the previous computer simulation is confirmed to the result by using MATLAB.

  • In this paper, we proposed a good classifier to match different spatial data sets by applying evaluation of classifiers performance in data mining and biometrics. For this, we calculated distances between a pair of candidate features for matching criteria, and normalized the distances by Min-Max method and Tanh (TH) method. We defined classifiers that shape similarity is derived from fusion of these similarities by CRiteria Importance Through Intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) method, Matcher Weighting method and Simple Sum (SS) method. As results of evaluation of classifiers performance by Precision-Recall (PR) curve and area under the PR curve (AUC-PR), we confirmed that value of AUC-PR in a classifier of TH normalization and SS method is 0.893 and the value is the highest. Therefore, to match different spatial data sets, we thought that it is appropriate to a classifier that distances of matching criteria are normalized by TH method and shape similarity is calculated by SS method.

  • The heterogeneous postal delivery model assumes that each intermediate node in the multicasting tree incurs a constant switching time for each message that is sent. We have proposed a new model where we assume a more generalized switching time at intermediate nodes. In our model, a child node v of a parent u has a switching delay vector, where the ith element of the vector indicates the switching delay incurred by u for sending the message to v after sending the message to i-1 other children of u. Given a multicast tree and switching delay vectors at each non-root node 5 in the tree, we provide an O(n$^{\frac{5}{2}}$) optimal algorithm that will decide the order in which the internal (non-leaf) nodes have to send the multicast message to its children in order to minimize the maximum end-to-end delay due to multicasting. We also show an important lower bound result that optimal multicast switching delay problem is as hard as min-max matching problem on weighted bipartite graphs and hence O(n$^{\frac{5}{2}}$) running time is tight.

  • Content based image retrieval is increasingly gaining popularity among image repository systems as images are a big source of digital communication and information sharing. Identification of image content is done through feature extraction which is the key operation for a successful content based image retrieval system. In this paper content based image retrieval system has been developed by adopting a strategy of combining multiple features of shape, color and relevance feedback. Shape is served as a primary operation to identify images whereas color and relevance feedback have been used as supporting features to make the system more efficient and accurate. Shape features are estimated through second derivative, least square polynomial and shapes coding methods. Color is estimated through max-min mean of neighborhood intensities. A new technique has been introduced for relevance feedback without bothering the user.

  • In this paper, we propose a new face detection method for real-time applications. It is based on the template-matching and appearance-based method. At first, we apply Min-max normalization with histogram equalization to the input image according to the variation of intensity. By applying the PCA transform to both the input image and template, PC components are obtained and they are applied to the LDA transform. Then, we estimate the distances between the input image and template, and we select one region which has the smallest distance. SVM is used for final decision whether the candidate face region is a real face or not. Since we detect a face region not the full region but within the $\pm$12 search window, our method shows a good speed and detection rate. Through the experiments with 6 category input videos, our algorithm shows the better performance than the existing methods that use only the PCA transform. and the PCA and LDA transform.

  • In this paper, a design and fabrication of 4 W power amplifier for the WiMAX frequency band(2.3~2.7 GHz) are presented. The adopted active device is a commercially available GaN HEMT chip of Triquint Company, which is recently released. The optimum input and output impedances are extracted for power amplifier design using a specially self-designed tuning jig. Using the adopted impedances value, class-F power amplifier was designed based on EM simulation. For integration and matching in the small package module, spiral inductors and interdigital capacitors are used. The fabricated power amplifier with $4.4{\times}4.4\;mm^2$ shows the efficiency above 50 % and harmonic suppression above 40 dBc for second(2nd) and third(3rd) harmonic at the output power of 36 dBm.

  • There is no known polynomial time algorithm for QAP that is a NP-complete problem. This paper suggests O(n2) polynomial time algorithm for random type quadratic assignment problem (QAP). The proposed algorithm suggests incremental augmenting matching strategy that is to set the matching set M={(li,fj)} from li with minimum sum of distance in location matrix L and fj with maximum sum of quantity in facility matrix F, and incremental augmenting of matching set M from M to li with minimum sum of distance and to fj with maximum sum of quantity. Finally, this algorithm performs swap strategy that is to reflect the complex correlations of distances in locations and quantities in facilities. For the experimental data, this algorithm, in spite of O(n2) polynomial time algorithm, can be improve the solution than genetic algorithm a kind of metaheuristic method.

  • This tutorial paper has been written for biologists, physicians or beginners in fuzzy sets theory and applications. This field is introduced in the framework of medical diagnosis problems. The paper describes and illustrates with practical examples, a general methodology of special interest in the processing of borderline cases, that allows a graded assignment of diagnoses to patients. A pattern of medical knowledge consists of a tableau with linguistic entries or of fuzzy propositions. Relationships between symptoms and diagnoses are interpreted as labels of fuzzy sets. It is shown how possibility measures (soft matching) can be used and combined to derive diagnoses after measurements on collected data. The concepts and methods are illustrated in a biomedical application on inflammatory protein variations. In the case of poor diagnostic classifications, it is introduced appropriate ponderations, acting on the characterizations of proteins, in order to decrease their relative influence. As a consequence, when pattern matching is achieved, the final ranking of inflammatory syndromes assigned to a given patient might change to better fit the actual classification. Defuzzification of results (i.e. diagnostic groups assigned to patients) is performed as a non fuzzy sets partition issued from a "separating power", and not as the center of gravity method commonly employed in fuzzy control. It is then introduced a model of fuzzy connectionist expert system, in which an artificial neural network is designed to build the knowledge base of an expert system, from training examples (this model can also be used for specifications of rules in fuzzy logic control). Two types of weights are associated with the connections: primary linguistic weights, interpreted as labels of fuzzy sets, and secondary numerical weights. Cell activation is computed through MIN-MAX fuzzy equations of the weights. Learning consists in finding the (numerical) weights and the network topology. This feed forward network is described and illustrated in the same biomedical domain as in the first part.
