본 연구는 어린이의 놀이가 도구적 관점에서 매체전환을 할 경우 변화된 인터랙션이 놀이 속성에 유의미한 효과성 차이가 있는지 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 로제카이와의 놀이론(아곤, 미미크리, 알레아, 일링크스)의 고찰과 선행연구된 내용을 토대로 설문을 작성하고 어린이들의 전인적 발달에서 선호하는 브릭쌓기 놀이를 통하여 실험 설계를 하였다. 브릭쌓기 놀이를 물리적 공간과 전자 공간에서 동일한 조건으로 선정하고 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나눠서 어린이들의 체험과 함께 설문조사를 진행하였다. 리커트 5점 척도 기반으로 한 통계분석은 결과의 유의미함을 도출하였다. 상관관계와 T-검정분석 결과에서 전자공간의 브릭 놀이가 로제 카이와의 놀이속성(아곤, 미미크리, 알레아, 일링크스)이 더 높아진 것을 알 수 있다. 전자 공간 브릭쌓기에서 고르게 분포된 놀이 속성은 즐거움과 재미가 배가 될 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구로 인해 매체전환에 의한 효과성의 차이를 인지하고 놀이 속성이 극대화될 수 있는 디지털놀이의 매체연구가 활성화되길 기대해 본다.

This paper focuses on how Younghill Kang internalizes whiteness ideology through interracial romance to build himself as an oriental Yankee and recover his masculinity in his autobiographical novel East Goes West. This paper also focuses on Kang's strategy of racial and cultural hybridity presented in this novel. The theoretical basis of my argument is a mixture of Fanon's psychoanalysis in his Black Skin, White Masks, Bhabha's notion of mimicry in The Location of Culture, and notions related to race and gender of some Asian critics such as Patricia Chu, Jinqi Ling, and Lisa Lowe. In East Goes West, white women appear as "ladder of success" of successful assimilation and serve as cultural mediators and instructors and sometimes adversaries who Korean male immigrants have to win to establish identities in which Americanness, ethnicity, and masculinity are integrated. However, three Korean men, Chungpa Han, To Wan Kim, George Jum, who fall in love with white women fail to win their beloveds in marriage. George Jum fails to sustain a white dancer, Jun' interest. Kim wins the affection of Helen Hancock, a New England lady, but Kim commits suicide when he knows Helen killed herself because her family doesn't approve their relationship. Han's love for Trip remains vague, but Kang implies Han will continue his quest for "the spiritual home" as the name of "Trip." In East Goes West, Kang also attempts to challenge the imagining of a pure, monolithic, and naturalized white dominant U.S. Culture by exploring the cultural and racial hybridity shown by June and the various scenes of Halem in the 1920s. June who works for a Harlem cabaret is a white woman but she wears dark makeup. Kang questions the white face of America's self-understanding and racial constitution of a unified white American culture through June's racial masquerade. Kang shows that like Asian and black Americans, the white American also has an ambivalent racial identity through June's black mimicry and there is no natural and unchanging essence behind one's gender and race identity constitution.

Listening comprehension is an integrative and creative process of interaction through which listeners receive speakers' production of linguistic or non-linguistic knowledge. Compared with reading comprehension, it may arouse difficulties and thus impose more burdens on foreign learners. The Audio-Lingual Method focused primarily on speaking. Mimicry, repetition, rote memory, and transformation drills actually interfered with listening comprehension. So learners lost interest and were not highly motivated. Improving listening comprehension requires continual attentiveness and interest. Listening skill can be extended systematically only when students are frequently exposed to a wide range of listening materials with an affective, cultural, social, and psycholinguistic approach. Therefore, teachers should help students learn how to comprehend intactly the overall meaning of intended messages. The literature on teaching listening skill suggests various useful activities: TPR, dictation, role playing, singing, picture recognition, completion, prediction, seeking specific information, summarizing, labeling, humor, jokes, cartoons, media, and so on. Practical classroom teaching necessitates a systematic procedure in which students should take part in meaningful tasks/activities. In addition to this, learners must practice listening comprehension trough a self-study process.

Gametic biotechnologies involve the procedures which are utilized for procuring reproductive success through the mimicry of in vivo events as in in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer etc. With the realization that the oviduct performs most of the procedures mimicked in vitro under normal in vivo situations, the need to master the oviduct therefore, becomes paramount. The oviduct being an exocrine gland (with its output of glycoproteins) and possibly an ecdocrine gland must be implicated in all the preimplantational procedures of reproduction, which include ovulation, oocyte maturation, sperm capacitation, gametic and embryonal nutrition, fertilization, and implantation. The evidences in the literature for the implication of the oviduct in these processes are examined. It is concluded that there is a need for the mastery of oviductual activity in order to maximize the successes of the procedures in vitro, and provide gametic manipulations which will have high success rates in implantation that is the ultimate after of in vitro fertilization for reproductive success.

Conversion disorder is defined as a specific and enduring sensorimotor dysfunction that contradicts known neurological or musculoskeletal pathology or physical findings. The patient with conversion symptoms unconsciously adopts these symptoms to convert their psychological stress to a physical phenomenon. Conversion disorder often involves the mimicry of organic symptoms similar to those experienced by a relative or an acquaintance. Because conversion symptoms are produced by psychological stress, specific treatment strategy and reinforcement program are needed for treatment. Treatment comprises avoiding unnecessary medical tests and removing symptoms by using graded exercises given by physical therapists. Clinical therapists must maintain a continuous and detailed follow-up to completely recover from conversion symptoms. The goal of treatment is to emphasize health rather than disease, to resolve physical symptoms, and to prevent recurrence. This study looks into the case reports of 4 patients diagnosed with conversion disorder.

Purpose: This study was done to examine factors influencing cell phone addiction for middle school students by gender. Methods: The participants were 228 male students and 228 female students in two middle schools. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires, and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. Results: Cell phone addictions of female students are higher than those of male students. Factors influencing cell phone addiction for male students were mimicry, sending text message on weekdays, immediate self-control, grade, syntony, and monthly call charge, explaining 42.2% of variance in cell phone addiction. Factors influencing cell phone addiction for female students were internet addiction, sending and receiving text message on weekends, immediate self-control, long-term self-control, use time, main use, syntony, and monthly call charge, explaining 46.8% of variance in cell phone addiction. Conclusion: The results indicated that cell phone addiction and its influencing factors differed by gender. Therefore the approach to effective cell phone addiction management program for middle school students should consider gender differences.

Recently, it was reported that entire mammalian mtDNA genomes could be transplanted into the mitochondrial networks of yeast, where they were accurately and stably maintained without rearrangement as intact genomes. Here, it was found that engineered mtDNA genomes could be readily transferred to and steadily maintained in the mitochondria of genetically modified yeast expressing the mouse mitochondrial transcription factor A (Tfam), one of the mitochondrial nucleoid proteins. The transferred mtDNA genomes were stably retained in the Tfam-expressing yeast cells for many generations. These results indicated that the engineered mouse mtDNA genomes introduced in yeast mitochondria could be relocated into the mitochondria of other cells and that the transferred genomes could be maintained within a mitochondrial environment that is highly amenable to mimicry of the biological conditions in mammalian mitochondria.

In Jamaica Kincaid's novel Lucy, the narrator grows up with the burden of colonial legacies embedded with Englands' imperial disciplinary projects, its language, educational institutions, discourses. Colonial education interpellates the narrator into a colonial subject through its multiple ideological discourses and systems. Teaching the literature of England is the most insidious form of the Empire's disciplinary colonial projects, more powerful than military enforcement: Its mode of operation is creating phantasy and instigating and planting desire for such phantasy. As Homi Bhabha aptly theorizes as colonial mimicry and ambivalence, the narrator as colonial subject grows up split and confused as an ambivalent subject, simultaneously mimicking and desiring for the phantasized England as real, while resisting and criticizing such up-bringing and mimetic desire. This paper explores Kincaid's rhetorical strategy of employing Wordsworth's poem, "I Wandered as a Lonely Cloud," especially her use of the flower "daffodil." Employing the concept of "daffodil gap" suggested by postcolonial critics, this paper closely examines two episodes involving the flower daffodil in the novel, one in a colonial classroom and the other in a garden in a new world and suggests that Kincaid accomplishes intertextual critique of colonial education and imperial projects.

This paper proposes an approach in Southeast Asian studies using a post-colonial framework in the study of post-colonial Southeast Asia. This framework is based on the sociology of knowledge that analyzes the dialectical relationship between science, ideology, and discourse. Post-colonial studies is critical of the concept of universality in science and posits that a scientific statement of a society cannot stand alone, but is made by authors themselves who produce, use, and claim the so-called scientific statement. Several concepts in post-colonial theories can be used to develop area studies, i.e. colonial discourse, subaltern, mimicry, and hybridity. Therefore, this study also explores these concepts to develop a more comprehensive understanding of Southeast Asian culture. The development of post-colonial theories can be used to respond to the hegemony of social theories from Europe and the United States. The main contribution of area studies in the field of the social sciences and humanities is in revealing the hidden interests behind the universal social sciences.

본 연구는 사용자의 인지적 측면에서 정보의 효율성을 높이기 위한 고찰로써, 정보의 노출빈도와 인지도의 관계에 따른 정보의 유형과 속성에 따른 표현 기법을 제안하였다. 인지공학과 인지심리학 분야의 문헌연구를 통해 노출빈도와 인지도의 상관관계를 규명하였고, 이를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 연구결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 사용자의 인지적 요구를 파악 할 수 있도록 하는 '프레임웍'으로써의 정보유형과 유형별 시각화 속성을 제안하였다. 세부적으로 정보 노출 빈도와 정보의 인지도에 따른 STM, STA, LTM, LTA 4가지 정보 유형과 각 유형에 관한 인지적 특성, 14가지 고품질 정보의 시각화 속성을 유형별로 재분류한 '시각화 속성 매트릭스'를 제안하였다. 둘째, 정보 콘텐츠 제작에 있어서 필요한 정보 깊이에 따른 표상방식에 대한 가이드라인을 제안하였다. 1차적 정보로서 STM, STA 정보의 표현기법으로 "독특속성", "선행 조직자(Advance Organizer)", "단계적 정보공개(Progress Closure)", "행위유발단서(Affordance)"를 제안하였으며, 다차원 정보로서 LTM 정보 표현기법으로 "모듈방식(Modularity)", "일관성(Consistency)", "모방(Mimicry)", "기억술(Mnemonic Device)"를 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통한 주요 발견점으로 정보의 유형과 깊이에 따라 정보의 시각화 속성의 중요도에 차이가 나타나며, 이에 따라 정보 표현기법이 달라 질 수 있음을 발견하였다.
