신보활석광산 주변에 형성된 우라늄 이상치가 지표수계 환경에 미치는 영향 (Environmental Impact Assessment of Uranium Anormaly in Stream System around the Shinbo Talc Mine)

  • In order to evaluate the environmental impact of U anormaly in the drainage system around the Shinbo talc mine area, U contents, their distribution patterns, bioaccumulation and a-radioactivity in stream water, stream sediments and aquatic organisms were investigated. The U contents of stream water attenuated with increasing distance from the mine area. The same attenuation pattern is shown in stream sediments from mine to 0.75 km downstream, although these contain highly enriched U contents (24~83 mg/kg) comparing with the international average concentration of surface soils (0.79~11 mg/kg). However, U content increases abruptly in sediment at 1.5 km downstream, probably due to detrital migration and rediposition of U enriched sediments. Futhermore, enriched U in downstream sediments occur in high proportions of carbonate and Fe-Mn oxide bounded forms, which show high potential of a secondary pollution source. For aquatic organisms, bio accumulation degree of U are in the order: aquatic larvae>black snail>mountain frog>crawfish. Cultured trout by the U enrich groundwater (387 ${\mu}g$/l) shows U accumulation in the part of branchia (CRs 5.25) and bones (CRs 11.2) but not in flesh (CRs 0.03). Total a-radioactivity have been measured in the level as 0.47 nCi/l for groundwater, 2.94~18 nCi/kg${\cdot}$DW for organisms and 93~328 nCi/kg${\cdot}$DW for sediments.

A Grey MCDM Based on DEMATEL Model for Real Estate Evaluation and Selection Problems: A Numerical Example

  • Real estate markets play an essential role in the economic development of both developed and developing countries. Investment decisions in private real estate demand the consideration of several qualitative and quantitative criteria. Especially in Vietnam, demand for housing, apartments are rising which has resulted because of the migration from rural to urban areas. This study aims to determine the influencing factors of the real estate purchasing behavior and then recommend a grey Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) support model to evaluate real estate alternatives based on a numerical example in Vietnam. A set of essential criteria are identified based on experts' opinion, and the proposed determinants are initial investment, maintenance cost, prestige location, distance to interesting places, parking lot, public transportation, property condition, total area size, number of rooms, and neighbors. The subjective weights were obtained by using the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) model, and the Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) technique is employed to prioritize and rank real estate alternatives. The results reveal that this approach can be useful to make purchasing decisions for many kinds of real estate property under uncertain business environments. These findings indicate that the presented hybrid model has advantages in granting flexibility to the preferences of decision makers.

  • 모드동기된 아르곤 이온 레이저를 여기광원으로 사용한 시간상관 단일광자 계수장치를 이용하여 에틸렌글리콜 용매 내에서 Rhodamine 6G에서 Malachite Green으로의 비복사 에너지전달과정을 연구하였다. 측정된 donor의 형광소멸곡선을 full-fitting 방법으로 분석 처리하여 acceptor 농도의 변화에 따른 환산농도와 임계전이거리를 구했다. donor의 농도가 acceptor의 농도 보다 클때는 donor-donor의 원거리 쌍극자 모멘트에 의한 에너지 이주 효과를 고려해야하며 Forster 모델 보다 Huber 모델이 더 적절하였다.

Horizontal and vertical movement patterns of yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata) in the East Sea of Korea

  • The bio-logging method could be a valuable approach to studying the underwater movement of marine fish. We investigated the horizontal and vertical movement patterns of two yellowtails Seriola quinqueradiata weighing 8.7 kg and 9.5 kg with a popup satellite archival tag from October 2020 to January 2021 in the East Sea of Korea. Our results showed that a yellowtail migrated northward in October and November, and then shifted southward in mid-December. The average swimming depth and temperature of the fish monitored over 82 days were 24.9 ± 9.3 m (average ± SD) and 16.5 ± 1.9℃, respectively, and the total traveled distance was 1,172.4 km. The fish swam significantly deeper during the daytime (33.70 ± 14.80 m) than at nighttime (20.65 ± 8.44 m) from November to December (p < 0.05). These results suggest that the horizontal migratory route of yellowtails in accordance with the East Korea Warm Current which is the main branch of Tsushima Warm Current in the fall and early winter seasons, and showed significant diel vertical movement patterns from November to December.

남해 대륙붕 제주분지의 3-D 석유시스템 모델링 (3-D petroleum system modeling of the Jeju Basin, offshore southern Korea)

  • 남해 대륙붕 제주분지의 각 퇴적층에 대한 심층 구조도를 작성하고 이를 기반으로 3-D 석유시스템 모델링을 수행하여, 이 지역의 석유와 가스의 생성과 배출, 그리고 이동과 집적에 대하여 분석하였다. 최하부 퇴적층인 에오세층을 근원암으로 설정하였으며, 하천-호수의 퇴적환경을 고려하여 타입 II와 III가 혼합된 케로젠으로부터 석유와 가스가 생성되는 것으로 입력하여 모델링을 실시하였다. 초기 유기탄소 함량은 기존의 시추공 자료들과 퇴적환경을 고려하여 4%로 입력하였다. 모델링 결과 많은 양의 석유와 가스가 생성되는 지역은 제주분지 내 한일공동개발광구(Joint Development Zone; 이하 JDZ) 4소구 서쪽지역으로, 20 Ma에 많은 양의 석유와 가스가 이곳의 근원암으로부터 배출되어 상위의 저류층으로 이동하였다. JDZ 4소구 지역의 근원암에서 배출되어 나온 석유와 가스는 주변에 이미 형성되어 있는 크고 작은 폐쇄형 유망구조(closure)로 이동하여 집적되었다. JDZ 1소구와 2소구가 접한 지역의 동쪽부분도 석유와 가스가 많이 생성되는 지역이다. 이곳에서 생성된 석유와 가스는 10 Ma에 주로 배출되었으며 근원암에서 배출된 석유와 가스는 상위의 퇴적층으로 이동하여 집적되었다. JDZ 1소구와 2소구가 접한 지역은 JDZ 4소구 지역보다 석유와 가스의 배출이 상대적으로 늦게 이루어지고 저류암으로의 이동도 상대적으로 늦게 나타나는 것으로 모델링되었다. 석유의 경우는 비교적 짧은 수평거리를 이동하는 것에 비하여 가스의 경우는 상대적으로 먼 수평거리를 이동하였으며 수직이동도 활발하였을 것으로 추정된다. 석유와 가스의 이동이 활발했던 시기는 마이오세 시기이며 이때는 광역적인 덮개암이 형성되기 이전이므로 많은 양의 석유와 가스가 지표로 유출되었을 가능성이 있다. 그러나 올리고세층과 마이오세층은 사질암과 이질암이 교호되는 지층으로, 폐쇄형 유망구조가 잘 형성된 곳에서는 석유와 가스가 집적된 것으로 모델링 되었다.

청둥오리와 흰뺨검둥오리의 월동기 행동권 비교 연구 (Home-Range of Mallard and Spot-billed Duck in Korea)

  • 청둥오리와 흰뺨검둥오리는 대표적인 월동 수조류로 수계를 중심으로 넓은 농경지를 월동지로 이용한다. 중부지역에 위치한 만경강과 동진강에서 월동하는 청둥오리와 흰뺨검둥오리에 대하여 행동권과 월동지에서의 일일 이동거리를 파악하고자 한다. 2015년 월동기에 Cannon-net을 이용하여 포획된 청둥오리 5개체와 흰뺨검둥오리 5개체에 야생동물 위치추적기(WT-300)를 부착하였다. 일일 이동거리는 전체 평균 0.89km이었으며, 최대 31.09km이었다. 청둥오리의 일일 이동거리는 0.97km이었으며, 최대 28.78km이었다. 흰뺨검둥오리의 일일 이동거리는 0.80km이었으며 최대 33.39km이었다. 행동권 분석은 GIS용 SHP 파일과 ArcGIS 9.0 Animal Movement Extension을 이용하였으며, 최소볼록다각형법(MCP)과 커널밀도측정법(Kernel Density Estimation : KDE)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 오리 2종의 행동권은 최소 볼록다각형법(MCP)에 의해 $490.34km^2$ ($SD=311.20km^2n=10$)이었으며, 핵심서식지인 커널밀도측정법(KDE 50%)은 $42.24km^2$ 이었다. 청둥오리의 행동권(MCP)은 $568.02km^2$로 흰뺨검둥오리 행동권(MCP) $397.13km^2$ 보다 비교적 넓었으며, 청둥오리의 핵심서식지(KDE 50%)는 $53.05km^2$로 흰뺨검둥오리의 핵심서식지(KDE 50%) $29.26km^2$ 보다 비교적 넓었다.

대전 신도시 일부 아파트지역 교통소음의 특성과 주민생활에 미치는 영향 (The Characteristics of Traffic Noise and Its Effects on Inhabitants' Life at an Apartment Area in Taejon City)

  • To estimate the effects of environmental noise on inhabitants' life in an apartment area at Taejon, noise levels and traffic volume of major roads were measured. 203 housewives were surveyed by questionaires including general factors, noise related factors and three items of life effects: subjective evaluations on the general environment, annoyance, and life disturbance due to environmental noise. At the boundary adjacent to the road with more traffic volume, noise level was higher; according to the time, the amount of noise level was in the morning, in the evening, at noon, and at night in order. Most of boundary noise levels were higher than those of recommended standard environmental noise levels in a residential area. The boundary noise level showed a very significant linear relationship with traffic volume of near roads. Noise level difference in the apartments adjacent to three roads was ranged 2.4~6.7dB between in windows open and close state. The apartments adjacent to 9 lane or 6 lane-road, which were protected by noise prevention wall and 20m or more distance from the roads, showed higher noise level at middle floors and high floors than those of low floors; but the buildings adjacent to 4 lane-road, with no protection, showed higher noise level at low and middle floors than those of high floors. Among 203 housewives, 120(59.1%) participated in this study, and 86(73.2%) of them answered that the most serious environmental noise was traffic noise from near roads. Comparing traffic noise levels with those of before-migration, 67.0% participants found the environmental noise became louder. Fifty eight(49.5%) of the participants wanted noise protection wall and 15(25.9%) of them were willing to charge the fee. Less perception on the present noise comparing to those before-migration, less traffic volume, and lower noise levels in the apartments were related to higher scores of self-evaluation on the environment. Higher susceptibility on the present noise, areas with more traffic volume, higher boundary noise levels, and higher noise levels showed higher scores of annoyance on environmental noise and life disturbance. Considering above all things, it was suggested that traffic noise in this area was the major problem of environmental noise, and its' effect was so serious that inhabitants needed some preventive measures for better life quality.

한국에 있어서 벼멸구$\cdot$매미충의 개체군동태에 관하여 (Some Aspects of Population Dynamics of Rice Leafhoppers in Korea)

  • 벼를 가해하는 4종의 멸구$\cdot$매미충 즉 애멸구, 끝동 매미충, 벼멸구 및 흰등멸구의 경제적 중요성에 대한 지역적 차이를 수원과 남부 그리고 남서 해안지역에서 수행한 개체군의 밀도조사를 토대로 분석 검토하였다. 한국에서 년중 볼 수 있는 애멸구와 끝동 매미충의 경제적 중요성은 중부지방이 덜한 것으로 보인다. 이는 겨울의 추운 기후조건, 벼, 보리의 경작 방법 및 거미류 같은 천직에 의해서 지연 치사작용이 효과적으로 일어나는 때문인 것으로 믿어진바. 그러나 남부지방에서는 겨울이 덜 춥고 벼, 보리의 경작방법이 이 두 해충의 생활환과 기주식물의 계절적 변천 양자의 재일성에 유리한 편이어서 이들의 경제적 중요성은 확실히 크다고 하겠다. 한국에서 원동을 하지 못하는 벼멸구와 흰등멸구의 매년 첫 발생개체군은 동지나해를 건너 원거리를 이동해 오는 것들에 기인된다. 이들의 이동과 관련을 갖고 있는 기상요소로 해서 이동되어오는 벼멸구와 흰등멸구의 양은 중부지방보다 남부지방에서 월등히 많다. 그러므로 벼를 가해하는 멸구$\cdot$매미충류에 대한 종합방제책으로 중부와 남부지방 별로 지침을 달리 세울 것이 요망된다.

Seasonal fluctuations and changing characteristics of a temperate zone wetland bird community

  • Background: The composition of wild bird populations in temperate zones greatly varies depending on phenological changes rather than other environmental factors. Particularly, wild birds appearing in wetlands fluctuate greatly due to the crossover of species arriving for breeding during the summer and for wintering. Therefore, to understand the changes to species composition related to phenology, we conducted this basic analysis of populations to further the cause of the protection of wetland-dependent wild birds. Methods: It is wrong to simply divide a wild bird population investigation into seasons. This study identifies species composition and indicator species that change along with seasons. Wetlands to be surveyed are protected by natural monuments and wetland inventory and are in a state close to nature. In order to identify as many species as possible in wetlands, a survey was conducted in both shallow and deep wetlands. The water depth varied in these areas, ranging from 0.2 to 2.0 m, allowing for both dabbling and diving ducks to inhabit the area. Surveys were conducted using line-transect and distance sampling methods and were conducted at intervals of 2 weeks. The survey was conducted under the following three categories: the eco-tone and emergent zone, the submergent zone, and the water surface. The survey was conducted along a wetland boundary by observing wild birds. A PC-ord program was used for clustering, and the SAS program was used to analyze the changes in species composition. The data strongly indicates that day length is the main factor for seasonal migration periods, despite the fact that climate change and increasing temperatures are often discussed. Results and conclusions: The indicator species for determining seasons include migrant birds such as Ardea cinerea, Alcedo atthis, Anas penelope, and Poiceps ruficollis, as well as resident birds such as Streptopelia orientalis and Emberiza elegans. Importantly, increases in local individual counts of these species may also serve as indicators. The survey results of seasonal fluctuations in temperate zones shows that spring (April to June), summer (July to September), autumn (October), and winter (November to March) are clearly distinguishable, even though spring and summer seasons tend to overlap, leading to the conclusion that additional research could more clearly identify fluctuation patterns in species composition and abundance in the study area.

주택재개발사업 특성이 재입주에 미치는 영향 (An Analysis of the Relationship Between Resettlement and Housing Redevelopment Characteristics)

  • The reason that compulsory removals of a low-quality housing redevelopment such as involuntary or unintentional migration present a problem for urban communities is that whether involuntary movers adapt themselves to their new home has an influence on the urban communities that surround them. Moreover, involuntary emigrants have higher probability of choosing faulty residential areas than voluntary emigrants do. This gives rise to a problem of another residential migration for involuntary movers. In order to solve these problems, there is a need for a new housing policy that enables original residents to come back to their old community. However studies for resettlement had not conducted subjects about housing redevelopment characteristics which influences the involuntary movers directly. Instead personal microscopic characteristics such as statistics of resettlement, the moving distance, the reason of moving, improvement of living environment, had been main subjects of farmer studies. So the purpose of this study is to analyze an analysis of the relationship between resettlement and housing redevelopment characteristics. The data used in this study was obtained at 47 areas designated by Seoul (metropolis) since 1990 for redevelopment. Cluster Analysis Is used for dividing high rate of resettlement with low rate of resettlement and Regression Analysis is used for the analysis of the relationship between resettlement and housing redevelopment characteristics. The results of examining the effects of a redeveloped housing complex on returning residents at 47 areas designated by Seoul (metropolis) since 1990 fur redevelopment are as follows: First, A housing complex with a high returning rate (remove-in rate?) has no state/public land, unauthorized building owners who are in the low-income brackets, and few interested parties such as union members. This is the characteristic of a redeveloped housing complex with a short-period project span. On the contrary, a housing complex that has a low returning rate is crowded by state/public land, and numerous unauthorized building owners, and interested parties. Second, According to the linear regression analysis, among the factors that affect returning residents, 'physical properties(characteristics) of a region', 'population properties within a region', and 'properties of a project span' indicate a negative(-)influence whereas 'properties of a complex density' shows a positive(+) influence. In a nutshell, the more the physical properties, population properties, projectspan properties, the lower the returning rate and the more the complex density properties, the higher the returning rate. In detail, an area with many small land and new/large buildings, a high population, and a long project duration has a low returning rate of original residents while an area holding large capacity and buildings with many number of floors (multiple-storied building) has a high returning rate.
