OS and Server Migration with Minimum outage on Virtualized Environments (가상화 환경에서 최소중단 OS 및 서버 마이그레이션 연구)

  • 가상화는 서버 가상화, 스토리지 가상화, 네트워크 가상화 등 여러 분야에서 사용하고 있고, 많은 기업의 인프라 시스템에 적용되어 있다. 현재 대부분의 기업에서 가상화로 운영중인 시스템들은 교체시기가 지났거나, 교체시기가 다가오고 있다. 하지만 1대의 시스템에 여러 OS가 운영중인 상황에서 전체 시스템을 종료하고 OS를 업그레이드 하고, 새로운 서버로 교체하는 문제는 많은 서비스 중단 시간을 필요로 하고, 작업의 복잡성이 매우 증가하게 된다. 이러한 가상화 인프라 시스템의 OS 마이그레이션과 서버 마이그레이션 시의 문제점을 해결하고자 본 논문에서는 AIX OS 환경에서 시스템 중단을 최소화하고 짧은 시간에 시스템 교체를 할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고 구현하였다.

Cryptography in the Cloud: Advances and Challenges

  • Cloud computing is a currently developing revolution in information technology that is disturbing the way that individuals and corporate entities operate while enabling new distributed services that have not existed before. At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept of converged infrastructure and shared services. Security is often said to be a major concern of users considering migration to cloud computing. This article examines some of these security concerns and surveys recent research efforts in cryptography to provide new technical mechanisms suitable for the new scenarios of cloud computing. We consider techniques such as homomorphic encryption, searchable encryption, proofs of storage, and proofs of location. These techniques allow cloud computing users to benefit from cloud server processing capabilities while keeping their data encrypted; and to check independently the integrity and location of their data. Overall we are interested in how users may be able to maintain and verify their own security without having to rely on the trust of the cloud provider.

  • 유무선 통합의 인터넷 환경을 지원하는 모바일 응용 서버는 휴대폰, PDA, PC 등 다양한 단말 종류를 타겟으로 한번 저작된 동일한 컨텐츠를 단말기 종류에 상관없이 지원할 수 있다. 모바일 응용 서버로 구축된 비즈니스 업무를 이용하는 사용자는 무선 인터넷의 간헐적 단절성, 업무의 긴급성, 표현 장치 및 입력 장치의 적절성, 업무의 이동성 등을 고려하여 적절한 단말 장치를 임의로 선택하여 비즈니스 업무를 수행할 수 있다. 또한, 이러한 비즈니스 업무들은 단말기 종류가 변하더라도 이전의 단말기에서 처리하였던 내용을 계속 이어 받아 업무를 진행시켜야 한다. 단일 단말기를 이용할 때에 페이지 간의 작업 내용을 저장하는 방식으로 세션 객체를 이용하는 방식이 널리 사용된다. 그러나 세션 객체는 유선 인터넷상의 단일 단말기만을 대상으로 만들어진 것이기 때문에 단말기를 변경하는 경우에는 세션을 이용할 수 없는 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다중 단발기간에 세션 전이를 가능하게 하여 세션 객체에 저장되어 있는 정보를 다중 단말기간에 공유하는 방법에 대한 설계 내용 및 구현 상황에 대해 논하겠다.

  • Mobile communication technology in the field of ubiquitous computing is one of important technologies. The development of GPS technology in mobile communications technology and PDA, the vast majority of mobile devices such as smart phones also being equipped with GPS functionality. This user where they are located where they are based on the number of through services were able to receive information. In this paper, mounted on a mobile device user's location using GPS capabilities to track the migration routes and the accumulated user to determine the migratory path of the system used to recommend the proposed route of the proposed method and system Designs. The services offered by tracking the location of the user to move the user to route data to create and upload to the server. Upload a migration path to move data from where they currently reside to the user is recommended to go to your destination. The services offered by the users do not know where to travel or go to your destination, etc. If you do not remember the path can be useful.

  • The objective of this paper is to analyze and characterize to simulate routing observations on end-to-end routing circuits and a ping experiment of a virtual network after modeling, such as IPv6 migration, an OSPFv3 routing experiment based on an IPv6 environment, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing using IPv6 planning and operations in an OPNET Modeler. IPv6 deployment based largely on the integrated wired and wireless network was one of the research tasks at hand. The previous studies' researchers recommended that future research work be done on the explicit features of both OSPFv3 and EIGRP protocols in the IPv4/IPv6 environment, and more research should be done to explore how to improve the end-to-end IPv6 performance. Also, most related work was performed with an IPv4 environment but lacked studies related to the OSPFv3 virtual network based on an end-to-end IPv6 environment. Hence, this research continues work in previous studies in analyzing IPv6 migration, an OSPFv3 routing experiment based on IPv6, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing. In the not too distant future, before enabling the default IPv6, it would help to understand network design and deployment based on an IPv6 environment through IPv6 planning and operations for the end-user perspective such as success or failure of connection on IPv6 migration, exploration of an OSPFv3 routing circuit based on an end-to-end IPv6 environment, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing. We were able to observe an optimal route for modeling of an end-to-end virtual network through simulation results as well as find what appeared to be a fast ping response time VC server to ensure Internet quality of service better than an HTTP server.

A Strategy to maintain Cache Consistency in Mobile Computing Environments using the Asynchronous Broadcasting (비동기적 방송을 사용하는 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 캐쉬 일관성 유지 정책)

  • In mobile computing environments, to efficiently use the narrow bandwidth of wireless networks a mobile host caches the data that are frequently accessed. But, because the cached data can be inconsistent with the data n a server due to the host mobility and the disconnection from a server, the usefullness of cached data may be losted. The traditional methods emphasize on the cache consistency and assume that broadcasting times are synchronized at all mobile supprot stations. In this paper, we propose a strategy to maintain cache consistency, which resolves the problems that be caused by the migration of mobile host. The proposed strategy has asynchronous broadcasting time and reduces the communication overhead caused by the synchronization. Also, by preventing the unnecessary messages transmitting from the mobile support station to a mobile host, this strategy can reduce the communication cost and use the narrow bandwidth of wireless networks efficiently.

  • Server virtualization provides abstraction of physical resources to users and thus accomplishes high resource utilization and flexibility. However, the characteristics of server virtualization, such as the limited number of physical resources shared by virtual machines, can cause problems, mainly performance interference. The performance interference is caused by the fact that the CPU scheduler running on the host operating system schedules virtual machines without considering the characteristics of the virtual machine's internal process. To address performance interference, a number of research activities to improve performance interference have been conducted, but do not deal with the fundamental analysis of performance interference. In this paper, in order to analyze the cause of performance interference, we carry out profiling in a variety of scenarios in a virtualized environment based on KVM. As a result, we analyze the phenomenon of the performance interference in terms of CPU scheduling and propose an efficient scheduling solution.

  • With the rapid advance of internet service and the corresponding migration of service environment from the text-based one to WWW (World Wide Web) environment, the number of internet users is growing rapidly due to its easy usage. Accordingly, usage of internet as services for sending electronic mails to the other patry over the network is becoming increasingly prevalent. Web-based electronic mailing system is comprised of a server and a client The former provides the users with e-mail accounts and services, while the latter serves as a user interface. In other words, it enales those public users who dos not own e-mail accounts on the existing mail server to have an access to hte mailing service through the web. In this paper, we designed a effective web-based electronic mailing system which is based on the internet explorer and linux operating system, which overcomes limitations of the existing e-mail systes and this facilitates the development of a stable e-mail system by being able to avoiding the low system performance due to the bursty characteristics of e-mail messages and the increasing number of users.

  • Many office workers spend a lot of time performing repetitive office tasks in inefficient ways. We developed a user-friendly chatbot system based on Kakaotalk to automate repetitive tasks and used the chatbot in the real workplace. In the process of operating the chatbot, if several people use the chatbot at the same time, the server was down or could not respond. To address these issues, we performed code migration of programs used by chatbot back-end servers and tried several ways to improve server performance such as database redesign and load balancing. To determine how much each method affects performance improvement, we measured total request per second and average latency. After that, we proposed ways to improve the problems of using the chatbot in the work environment.

  • Mobile agent is one of the promising ways of overcoming network load and latency. It is also a new software paradigm including those concepts of client/server, applet/servelet, and code-on-demand. In this paper, a new mobile agent concept with flexible replay scheme is proposed, which can deal with embarrassing situation when replying results should be accomplished in various distributed applications. For example, they are 1) a burden of bulky result, 2) a need of different replay scheme dependent on work type, 3) connection failure to the target node, and 4) a need of fast migration to next node to keep the itinerary. Regarding the source node, there may be another situation that it wants to be aware of whether its wi가 is completed or not. Three kinds of reply schemes are proposed for dealing flexibly with such situations. They are based on priority reply list where nodes to be replied are stored according to their priorities. An experimental supply chain management model using the proposed reply schemes is designed and implemented. It is one of good distributed applications appropriate for our reply schemes, because it requires different reply schemes according to work types and it is important to gather required information in time.
