The purpose of the study was to compare the satisfaction level on hospital meal size and actual intake rate of hospital foods between elderly and middle aged patients. Sixty one middle aged and one hundered thirty two elderly patients were surveyed on the foods served in the hospital-rice, soup, meat/fish, vegetable, kimchi and daily products. Compared to the middle aged patients, the more elderly thought the serving size of rice was too big(p<0.05), and those of soup, meat/fish and kimchi tended to be too big. There was no difference in the satisfaction level on the serving size of vegetable dish between two age groups. In actual intake rates of hospital meal there were no significant differences between the elderly and middle aged patients. However, the elderly male ate significantly(p<0.05) less amount of rice than the middle aged male and the elderly female ate significantly(p<0.01) less amount of meat/fish then the middle aged female. Satisfaction levels and actual intake rates were significantly correlated in all food items.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the combination of tailored suit details through visual evaluation which helps compensating middle aged women's body defects for their more attractive fashion styles. The data evaluated by a multiple ranking test were analyzed using mean, paired t-test, general linear measure and Duncan's multiple raged test. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The middle aged woman wearing the opened flap pocket-jacket and slacks looks longer(p〈0.001) in lower part of her body and taller(P〈0.01) as a whole than when wearing others. And, opened jacket makes a middle aged woman be seen with less appeared abdomen(p〈0.01) than that wearing others. 2) The middle aged woman wearing the opened flap pocket-jacket and skirt looks more elegant(p〈0.001), more graceful(p〈0.001), and a bit more balanced(p〈0.05) than that wearing the opened flap pocket-jacket and slacks suits. According to situation(TPO). the middle aged women wearing the opened flap pocket-jacket, and slacks or skirt looks more effective the visual effect in combination of details on Tailored suits. Purpose: This study examined the relationships among menopausal symptom, self-efficacy, health promoting behaviors, and investigated factors affecting health promoting behaviors of teachers with middle-aged women experiencing menopause. Methods: From September to October 2012, a convenience sample of 252 subjects aged 40 to 60 years was recruited from 8 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 5 high schools. The data analysis was done by ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Menopausal symptom of subjects was slightly lower than general middle aged women and the average level of health promoting behaviors was similar to general middle aged women. Health promoting behaviors were differentiated by severity of menopausal symptom, not by menstruation state. Menopausal symptom was negatively related to health promoting behaviors. The most significant factor affecting health promoting behaviors was self efficacy (14.3%). The combination of self efficacy, menopausal symptom, and elementary school teachers accounted for 20.1% of health promoting behavior. Conclusion: When developing health promotion program for teachers with middle-aged women, such program should consider self-efficacy, menopausal symptom, and school type.
Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of Dan Jeon Breathing on physical health promotion in middle aged women. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health promoting behaviors and the relationship between health promoting behaviors and state and trait anger in middle-aged men. Method: In this descriptive correlational study, the participants were 143 middle-aged men who lived in D city. Data were collected from November, 2004 to January. 2005. Personal interviews with a structured questionnaire were used. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS Win 11.0 program. Results: The score for health promoting behavior in the middle-aged men was above the mean score. The highest dimension was self-actualization and the lowest dimension of health promoting behaviors was exercise. A significant negative correlation was found between health promoting behaviors and state anger in middle-aged men. But there was no significant correlation between health promoting behaviors and trait anger. Conclusion: These results suggest that state anger should be considered as an important factor when nurses develop educational programs to enhance health promoting behavior in middle-aged men.
Objectives: This study was designed to determine the effects of middle-aged men's family functionality and self-efficacy on their retirement anxiety, in order to produce methods to alleviate this anxiety, including providing basic information for devising programs that help middle-aged men get better adjusted to and increase their awareness about retirement. Methods: For data collection, the study surveyed 364 middle-aged men who were residing in B Metropolitan City from February. 10 to 25, 2017. Results: This study found that the primary factor influencing middle-aged men's retirement anxiety is self-efficacy, for which the explanatory power for the surveyed men's retirement anxiety was 52.0%. In contrast, family functionality had no effect on retirement anxiety. Conclusions: To make middle-aged men less anxious about retirement, a variety of programs must be created and implemented that help them improve their self-efficacy prior to retirement. Furthermore, these men should be provided with educational and intervention programs that facilitate their adjustment to retirement and increase their awareness about retirement.
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the well-being of middle-aged non-shift female workers using health-determinant models. Methods: This study analyzed data from the fifth Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS), involving 5,449 participants. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis was employed to examine the relationships between various factors and well-being. Results: The analysis identified key factors affecting well-being in middle-aged female non-shift workers, including supervisor support, presenteeism, satisfaction with the working environment, autonomy in working hours, support from coworkers, workplace discrimination, occupation, work-life balance, sleep problems, workplace size, weekly work hours, and sickness absence. This study confirms that the well-being of middle-aged non-shift female workers is influenced by factors at the individual, social, and community levels as well as by conditions related to love. Conclusion: To enhance the well-being of middle-aged female non-shift workers, it is essential to reinforce positive factors such as support from coworkers and superiors. Additionally, addressing and mitigating negatively influencing factors such as workplace discrimination and sleep problems is crucial in promoting well-being. By implementing measures to improve these aspects, organizations and policymakers can contribute to a healthier and more supportive work environment for middle-aged, non-shift female workers.

With the rapid acceleration of low-birth rate and population aging, the employment of the neglected groups of people including the middle aged class is a crucial issue in South Korea. In particular, in the 2010s, the number of the middle aged who want to find a new job after retirement age is significantly increasing with the arrival of the retirement time of the baby boom generation (born 1955-1963). Despite the importance of matching jobs to this emerging middle aged class, private job portals as well as the Korean government do not provide any online job service tailored for them. A gigantic amount of job information is available online; however, the current recruiting systems do not meet the demand of the middle aged class as their primary targets are young workers. We are in dire need of a specially designed recruiting system for the middle aged. Meanwhile, when users are searching the desired occupations on the Worknet website, provided by the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor, users are experiencing discomfort to search for similar jobs because Worknet is providing filtered search results on the basis of exact matches of a preferred job code. Besides, according to our Worknet data analysis, only about 24% of job seekers had landed on a job position consistent with their initial preferred job code while the rest had landed on a position different from their initial preference. To improve the situation, particularly for the middle aged class, we investigate a soft job matching technique by performing the following: 1) we review a user behavior logs of Worknet, which is a public job recruiting system set up by the Korean government and point out key system design implications for the middle aged. Specifically, we analyze the job postings that include preferential tags for the middle aged in order to disclose what types of jobs are in favor of the middle aged; 2) we develope a new occupation classification scheme for the middle aged, Korea Occupation Classification for the Middle-aged (KOCM), based on the similarity between jobs by reorganizing and modifying a general occupation classification scheme. When viewed from the perspective of job placement, an occupation classification scheme is a way to connect the enterprises and job seekers and a basic mechanism for job placement. The key features of KOCM include establishing the Simple Labor category, which is the most requested category by enterprises; and 3) we design MOMA (Middle-aged Occupation Matching Algorithm), which is a hybrid job matching algorithm comprising constraint-based reasoning and case-based reasoning. MOMA incorporates KOCM to expand query to search similar jobs in the database. MOMA utilizes cosine similarity between user requirement and job posting to rank a set of postings in terms of preferred job code, salary, distance, and job type. The developed system using MOMA demonstrates about 20 times of improvement over the hard matching performance. In implementing the algorithm for a web-based application of recruiting system for the middle aged, we also considered the usability issue of making the system easier to use, which is especially important for this particular class of users. That is, we wanted to improve the usability of the system during the job search process for the middle aged users by asking to enter only a few simple and core pieces of information such as preferred job (job code), salary, and (allowable) distance to the working place, enabling the middle aged to find a job suitable to their needs efficiently. The Web site implemented with MOMA should be able to contribute to improving job search of the middle aged class. We also expect the overall approach to be applicable to other groups of people for the improvement of job matching results.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affected on the leisure participation, leisure satisfaction and leisure erect of the middle-aged and the aged who were participated in the leisure programs of the public community facilities. The sample in this study consisted of 351 middle-aged and aged living in Seoul and Daegu. frequencies, means and multiple regressions were employed for the analysis. The resets of this study were as follows: The factors affected on the leisure participation were age, number of the family, residence, and tuition fee. The factors had erects on the leisure satisfaction were sex, pocket money, residence, and the access of the transportation. And, the factors affected on the leisure effect were educational attaintment, total household income, number of the family, leisure attitude, and the access of transportation. The findings suggest that the advertisement will be needed for more use of the leisure programs in the public community facilities. And the Public transportation service will help middle-aged and aged access the facilities and participate the leisure programs.
The purpose of the study was to suggest ways of improvement of the present sizing systems for the middle aged women's clothing. For this, a questionnaire survey for the aged group and calculating coverage rate of one garment item(suit) between the companies has been carried out. The data was analyzed with use of SPSS package. The statistics were based o frequency, X2-test, t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results of the study was as follows: 1. In case of survey for middle aged women, the problems concerning the length and abdominal girth were found, that is to say, the former too long and the latter too tight. 2. The sizing systems between companies were very different in size classification and standard deviation of each sizes. 3. In calculating coverage rate of the 10 companies's sizing systems, coverage rate of the smallest size in each were the highest and those of the biggest were 0%. It means the standard deviation of the present sizing systems are not enough to cover the various body form of the middle aged women, so that the more diverse sizing system is required for the better fitness of middle aged women's clothing.
