  • A cavity-backed two-arm spiral antenna for partial discharge diagnosis is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a two-arm Archimedean spiral, a tapered microstrip balun as spiral antenna feed, and a ring-shaped absorber-loaded cavity. The Archimedean spiral antenna is designed for the operating frequency band of 0.3 GHz to 1.5 GHz and fed by the tapered microstrip balun. The cavity is utilized to transform the bidirectional beam into a unidirectional beam, thereby enhancing gain. The ring-shaped absorber is stacked in the cavity to reduce the reflected waves from the cavity wall. The proposed antenna is designed and simulated using CST Microwave Studio. A prototype of the proposed antenna is likewise fabricated and tested. The measured radiation patterns are directional to the positive z-axis, and the measured peak gain is 8.13 dBi at a frequency of 1.1 GHz.

  • In this paper, the microstrip antenna is studied to replace the parabolic antenna in the DBS reception. It is expected that the good picture quality DBS reception will be possible with this antenna irrespective of rain attenuation for the 99.9% time in a monthly average since the C/N ratio f 19dB is proved by the reception experiment of a Koreasat with fabricated antenna. From the results of this paper, it is shown that the electrical characteristics of the microstrip antenna can be improved to the level similar to that of the parabolic antenna. Hence, it is considered that the fabricated microstrip antenna can replace the parabolic antenna in DBS service coverage.

  • In this paper, a microstrip antenna with a small loop consisting of the left and right parallel plate to load capacitor is proposed. It is obtained the improved small size than the antenna of the transformed Uh and the antenna of the left and right parallel plate to load capacitor on QMSA. Equivalent circuit of transmission line model is designed to find more accurate resonant frequency. Also, the designed and fabricated antenna can receive both vertically and horizontally polarized waves to operating frequency of 1.5GHz. Therefore proposed antenna is available as a small antenna for wireless communication and will be quite useful for indoor communication

  • This paper presents a new dualband shared-aperture microstrip antenna to operate in the S-Band of 2 GHz and X-Band of 8 GHz, for a Low Earth Orbit satellite antenna system. The proposed antenna incorporates two types of patches those are a rectangular loop-shaped for the S-Band and a square patch for the X-Band. Each patch are optimized for its respective operating band with minimal interference. The proposed antenna achieves a bandwidth of 16 MHz in the S-Band and 572 MHz in the X-Band. The highest gain is measured 7.14 dBi at 1.99 GHz and 7.95 dBi at 7.88 GHz. The proposed antenna exhibits half power beamwidths of 85 degree and 80 degree at 1.99 GHz and 7.88 GHz, respectively. The proposed dualband shared-aperture microstrip antenna may be a good candidate for as a feeding system of a dualband reflectarray antenna With its unidirectional radiation pattern from excellent agreement between simulation and measurement results.

  • In this paper, the electromagnetically coupled microstrip dipole antenna by adapting one parasitic metal-strip(dipole) between the microstrip transmission line open end and the radiating microstrip dipole antenna is presented for the bandwidth improvement The microstrip dipole antenna is simulated using Ensemble 51 simulation package The effects of varying several physical parameters, such as the lengths of radiating dipole and parasitic dipole and the width of parasitic dipole are investigated The bandwidth behavior of the 3-layer optimum antenna is compared with that of 2-layer antenna without the parasitic dipole. Experimental result for the obtained broadband performance is presented and discussed.

  • This paper observed characteristics of a triangular microstrip patch antenna with T-slot. When a narrow horizontal slot or vertical slot is embedded in a triangular microstrip antenna, we investigated variations of dual resonant frequency according to slot lengths and then we could make a triangular microstrip antenna with T-type slot suitable to a very low dielectric substrate. The proposed antennas used a dielectric substrate which has relative dielectric constant ${\epsilon}_r=3.38$ and a height of 8 [mils] (=0.2032mm) and antenna characteristics of horizontal or vertical slot antennas are compared by a ensemble 8.0 simulator. Theoretical and experimental results of manufactured antennas are compared.

  • Right hand circularly polarized Ka band microstrip patch array antenna was designed, manufacture and measurement were carried out. In order to lower axial ratio performance sequential rotation array technique was used. With mono-pulse feed There are sum and delta channel. Waveguide to microstrip transition was used. The 512 array antenna was performed which axial ratio is about 1.ldB in the half power beam width and also 1.ldB at the normal direction. Directivity gain of designed antenna is 32dB.

Microstrip array antenna with phase lock of 0$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$, 90$^{\circ}$ are designed, to scan beam for 0$^{\circ}$, 6$^{\circ}$, 12$^{\circ}$ to be 1:2:2:1 for the relative current distribution. The designed microstrip array antenna with phase lock is measured in terms of various characteristics such as return loss, resonant frequency, radiation pattern, bandwidth, beamwidth, and the measurement value and theoretical value agreed with each other. Also, the patch array antenna with the relative current distribution is presented phase shift for beam scanning.

  • In this paper, a wideband two-layer H-shaped microstrip antenna for WLAN is designed and studied experimentally. To increase the bandwidth of microstrip patch antenna, a configuration of stacked type using parastic element is used, Furthermore, to reduce the size of microstrip patch antenna, the first technique is H-shaped patch type. the second technique is that the main radiator and parastic patch are shorted to the ground plane using ten shorting posts. The antenna bandwidth and radiation characteristics are calculated by ENSEMBLE ver. 5.0 simulation software, and compared with the experimental results, Experimental results show that the return loss is less than -10dB over the band of 5.086GHz to 5.832GHz, which is quite good agreement with the calculations.
