'Ga Mi Yung Sin Whan' is a Chinese patent medicine, which is used for a tachycardia, anemia, amnesia, ecstacy, and so on in Korea. This medicine consists of 12 kinds of powdered crude drugs. For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may advantageously be used as it requires only a small amount of specimens. In this paper, the effectiveness of this method is exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in Ga Mi Yeong Sin Whan which contains 12 powdered crude drug ingredients.

Hyo Shim Dan Hwan (孝心丹丸) is a Chinese patent medicine which is used for neuralgia and palsy in Korea. This medicine consists of 15 kinds of powdered crude drugs. For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may advantageously be used, as it requires only small amount of specimens. In this study, the effectiveness of this method is exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in Hyo Shim Dan Hwan, which contains 15 powered crude drug ingredients.

With a focused laser beam, we make a microscopic change on a thin film, and organize the overall system that can observe the change with a microscope. This system utilizes the energy of a laser beam which is focused by a simple lense system. That is a laser beam which has its waist at working distance of a lense. The microscopic change induced by the energy of laser beam focused through a lense can be observed in real time. The experiment with this system shows that the 10mW He-Ne 632.8nm laser can change the black vinyl instantaneously.

In this paper, various tow parameters such as equivalent tow thickness, amplitude of longitudinal tow and tow intervals were investigated and compared with each other by using microscopic observation to find out the exact deformation patterns between both directions of the fabric structure (Longitudinal and Transverse Directions). Specimens for the observation were taken from draped helmet which is made of fabric composite (Five Harness Satin Weave). From the observation results, it was found that there are different deformation pattern between tow directions and effect of geometric condition on the deformation of the fabric materials during draping process was verified.

'Jeol Chung Yum' is a Chinese patent medicine, which is used for a disease of women peculiarity by extravasated blood, a kind of stagnation state of blood and of menstrual irregularity in Korea; This medicine consists of 10 kinds of powdery mixtures, and microscopic method can advantageously be used for identification as it requires only a small amount of specimens. In this paper, the effectiveness of this methods will be exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in 'Jeol Chung Yum' which contains 10 powdered crude drug ingredients.

To compare the quality of ultrastructural preservation of Scanning Electron Microscopic specimens dried with different methods; pure air-drying, air-drying with using Tetramethylsilane(TMS), four kind of air-drying using Hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and critical point drying(CPD), we conducted scanning electron microscopic observation on liver, skeletal muscle and intestinal tissues from laboratory rat treated with each method. In pure air drying group, severe distortion of tissue surface was observed, and in HMDS treated group, only liver tissue showed slight distortion. But in TMS treated group, each tissue showed a good presentation comparable to CPD group. The results suggest that the method of air-drying using TMS may be the former is less expensive and simple be and also time-saving.

$Yongkaksan^{\circledR}$ is a powdered crude drug which is used to treat cough and recommended it as an expectorant. It is composed of Platycodi Radix (11.7 mg), Senegae Radix(0.5 mg), Armeniacae Semen(0.83 mg) and Glycyrrhizae Radix(8.3 mg). For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may be considered to be efficacious due to requirement of a small amount of specimens. In this paper, effectiveness of this method will be exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in $Yongkaksan^{\circledR}$ which contains 4 powdered crude drug ingredients.

Sengwe Dan(生胃丹) is a Chinese patent medicine, which is used for stomachic disorder, heavy drinking, voracious eating, acute and chronic indigestion, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting in Korea. In the future, the demand for the drug is likely to increase, as the number of aged people increases. This medicine is in the large of pills consisting 19 kinds of powdered crude drugs. For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may advantageously be used as it requires only a small amount of specimens. In this paper, the effectiveness of this method is exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in Seng-We-Dan which contains 19 powdered crude drug ingredients.

Yeon Ju Hwan (蓮珠丸) is a Chinese patent medicine which has been used for improvement of blood circulation and thrombolysis in Korea. It consists of 28 kinds of powdered crude drugs. For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may advantageously be used, as it requires only small amount of specimens. And also it is considered a technique of choice since it takes only minimum time and requires a simple process. In this paper, the effectiveness of this method is exemplified by the identification of the ingredients in Yeon Ju Hwan, which contains 28 powdered crude drug ingredients.
