A LPG Dispensing Control System based on a 16-bit Microprocessor (16-bit 마이크로프로세서로 구현한 LPG 충전 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, a POS interfacing and temperature compensable LPG dispensing control system(LDCS) has been developed. A LDCS includes a 16-bit 80C196 microprocessor, RAM, ROM, video driver, and programmable peripheral devices. Based on gas flow encoding pulse, temperature-voltage conversion values and apparatus calibration values, the LDCS controls the LPG dispensing quantity with switching on or off the solenoid valves. The temperature compensation is performed with a 10-bit A/D conversion and its range is from +7$0^{\circ}C$ to -3$0^{\circ}C$ with a 0.5$^{\circ}C$ resolution.

  • A laboratory scale storage facility consisting of a cold room, sample jars and a ventilation device was designed and built. Storaging sample jars (1.7 l) for fruit were fabricated with transparent acryl and provided with a constant air flow. For the supplying of air to sample jars, the air distributing system was built with solenoid valves, an air precooling coil and a pressure equalizing tank. To provide the programmable storaging environment of the facility a microprocessor-based controller was designed and installed. The controller was built with the 8 bit microprocessor (Z-80), EPROM, RAM, programmable peripheral interface(8255 PPI), and A/D converter. Softwares for the auto-temperature measurement and control of the storage system were developed and systemized in ROM. The automated storage system was applied to citrus storage, and the temperature of the storage facilities was successfully acquisited to the computer and controlled.

  • The ShortStack Micro Server enables any product that contains a microcontroller or microprocessor to quickly and inexpensively become a networked, Internet-accessible device. The ShortStack Micro Server provides a simple way to add LonWorks networking to new or existing smart devices. . It implements the LonTalk protocol and provides the physical interface with the LonWorks communication. The ShortStack host processor can be an 8, 16, or 32-bit microprocessor or microcontrollers. The ShortStack API and driver typically require about 4kbytes of program memory on the host processor and less than 200 bytes of RAM. The interface between host processor and the ShortStack Micro Server may be a Serial Communication Interface (SCI). The LonWorks control module with a high performance is developed, which is composed of the 8 bit PIC Microprocessor for host processor and the smart neuron chip for the ShortStack Micro Server. This intelligent control board is verified as proceeding the various function tests from experimental system with an boost pump and inverter driving systems. It is also confirmed that the developed control module provides stably 0-10VDC linear signal to the input signal of inverter driving system for varying the induction motor speed. Thus, the experimental results show that the fabricating intelligent board carried out very well the various functions in the wide operating ranges of boost pump system. This developed control module expect to apply to industrial fields to require the comparatively exact control and monitoring such as multi-motor driving system with inverter, variable air volume system and the boost pump water supply systems.

  • Apartment complex, buildings, markets and department stores have inner parking lots which can accept many cars but drivers waste lots of times to find the empty parking spaces in crowding parking lots. In this paper, we proposed the inner parking information support system based on microprocessor which can decrease roaming times to find vacant parking spot in confusing parking lots through notice monitor and provide SMS to make it easy to find parked place. Proposed system consist with RFID system for detecting access of cars, microprocessor system for processing data of checking existence of cars on parking spots and communicating with server, and server system which processes information of cars' in and out, guides empty parking spots and parked location to drivers. Suggested system is realized by handmade model parking lot size of 8 cars, and we confirmed practicality by providing information using parking notice monitor and single message service.

  • This paper deals with the PWM controlled active AC power filter. A new PWM control method from the viewpoint of speed and simplicity is proposed. And a microprocessor-based controller is used to realize the active AC power filter. The existing PWM control methods are primarily based on Fourier series expansion and these methods need FFT calculation and solving nonlinear harmonic equations, which are heavy burden to real-time control. The proposed method is based upon generalized pulse series expansion and needs only definite integrals of harmonic signal. So, computational effort can be reduced by a large margin. The digital circuit using 16-bit microprocessor is designed to implement the actual active power filler.

  • In this paper, we proposed a wavelet image coder based on the portable embedded microprocessor. The proposed coder stores the bit level information of the wavelet coefficient in the 2D significance array. Using this information, the coder make the significance check for coefficient and bit level scanning at the same pass. The proposed method has the advantage that we can reduce the scan iteratively and the memory usage for the coding process. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms popular image coders such as JPEG, EZW and SPIHT in based on the portable embedded system environment.

Performance Improvement of High Speed Operation for Sensorless based Synchronous Machine (회전자 위치센서 없는 동기전동기의 고속 운전 성능 개선)

  • The performance improvement in the high speed region for the sensorless based synchronous machine drive is discussed in the paper. Conventional dynamic overmodulation method in the vector controlled AC driver requires some calculation of maximum amplitude of the applying voltage vector to limit its amplitude, which leads to increase the calculation time of microprocessor. For low performance microprocessor, this might be impossible to complete the control loop within limited control time. Thus, to reduce the calculation time, the constantly limited amplitude for applying voltage vector is tried in this paper to drive sensorless based synchronous motor. Certainly, there exists some errors in amplitude and phase angle between inverter voltage and calculating voltage in the sensorless algorithm. But, this errors are too small to prevent the high speed sensorless operation within overmodulation region. The validities of the proposed method is proved by the experimental results.
