Development of Thermal Mass Flow Meter (열전달 질량유량계 개발)

  • Thermal mass flow meter was developed using principle of convective heat transfer. The advantage of thermal mass flow meter is measuring mass flow directly, therefore, it is not required to use densitometer or temperature/pressure and DP gages. The final accuracy of this thermal mass flow meter is $\pm1.0{\%}$ or better, reproducibility is $\pm0.2{\%}$, and the response time is 600 ms. The thermal mass flow meter was developed from a single point to multi-points (maximum is 9 points), and the number of points is determined according to desired accuracy and size of piping/duct. Since this thermal mass flow meter adopted microprocessor based design, it is intrinsically accurate, self-error detectable, and has self-diagnosis function. The applications of this thermal mass flow meter are for measurement and control of HVAC air flow, other gas flow, and liquid flow.

  • In this paper we have developed a Power Line Proximity Detecting device for Mobile Crane by using a Derivation Electric-Potential Detection method. A mobile crane worker can be easily exposed to a dangerous electrical shock and the electrocution while they are working at near the high-voltage electrical lines. The derivation electric-potential of the power lines have been simulated in our experiment, Also, microprocessor-based detecting device and transmitter/receiver modules are introduced to show a solution for the dangerous mobile crane working environment. As a result, It has been shown a good functional field test.

  • This paper shows a new concept of digital power meter based on the optical sensing technique. The digital power meter with isolate IC so called Photocoupler is designed and implemented. The system composed of power and analong interface circuits, micro-controller and LCD display circuits. The most errors in power meter happen on measurement and calculation process for load voltages and currents. The suggested method on this paper is to use no noise sensor and PIC microprocessor. The results of simple test for power meter prototype are showed a nearly similar date to commercial product.

  • The time optimal position control design can be repeatedly taken from the initial state of a dynamic system to a desired one as fast as possible in the industrial drives. In this case, an induction machine parameters will vary due to temperature, frequency, and saturation effects. In particular, the rotor resistance changes critically with temperature and frequency. These changes affect the command values of the stator current components and slip speed. There is a mismatch between the commanded variables and actual ones of the induction motor drive, and this situation leads to coupling of the vector controller from the plant, i.e. the induction motor . Consequences of such a coupling include the initiation of oscillations of the rotor flux and unsuitable switching of electromagnetic torque for the induction motor servo drive. Therefore, this paper describes a rotor resistance parameter compensating method for the induction motor, And the validity of the proposed design method is confirmed by simulation studies and experiment results.

  • This paper presents a design experience of a control language for coordination of a multi-robot system. To effectively program job commands, a Petrinet-type Graphical Robot Language(PGRL) is proposed, where some functions, such as concurrency and synchronization, for coordination among tasks can be easily programmed.In our system, the proposed task commands of PGRL are implemented by employing formal model languages, which are composed of three modules, sensory, data handling, and action module. It is expected that by using our proposed PGRL and formal languages, one can easily describe a job or task, and hence can effectively operate a complex real-time and concurrent system. The control system is being implemented by using VME-based 32-bit microprocessor boards for supervisory, each module controller(arm, hand, leg, sensor data processing module) and a real time multi-tasking operating system(VxWorks).   • In maned airport, crews may have risks as they manage passenger control system in IPMS in damage situations such as fire in a airport. So the application of unmanned autonomous system can reduce the number of boarding crews and attribute to safe airplane transportation. PBBC model can be used to obtain control strategy, and airplane and enhance operators' skill by simulating the airport. The paper suggests an intelligent system of the pbbc control using microprocessor in integrated platform management system which can take measures against passenger situation of a airplane excluding unnecessary warnings with undamaged situations. The system here detected the passenger more accurately and adopted more appriate measures according to airplane status compared with conventional systems.

  • This paper presents a new method to obtain more stable and precise A/D conversion for remote sensing use. Hardware is designed to compensate offset voltage and drift & temperature characteristics, as well as to perform dual slop A/D converter by using single chip microprocessor. Serial communication program which is based on ASCII code commands is also developed to add initial setup & calibration functions as well as to perform A/D data communication. Proposed method will give a good applications to the industrial field where a high precision remote sensing is required.

Development of a Tying-Unit Controller for a Variable Chamber Round Baler (가변 원형 베일러의 결속 기구 제어 장치 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develop a control unit for a tying device of a variable chamber round baler. The work process of the tying device was thoroughly analyzed and the control sequence was established according to the work process. Based on this control sequence, a control unit using an 8 bit microprocessor AT 89C52 as a CPU was developed. The driving circuit to control the actuator motion was developed and the PWM method was used to regulate the velocity of the actuator. On the front panel of the control unit, indicators were also installed to show the operations being conducted. A prototype of the developed control unit was manufactured and tested. A total of 50 complete cycles of the control sequence was repeated and no failure was observed. It was evaluated that the developed control unit has an excellent performance and can be used practically for variable chamber round balers.

  • In this study, we designed a digital fuzzy logic controller based on FPGA and microprocessor for MPPT of the solar power generation system. A fuzzy algorithm to control the power tracking function of a boost converter has been built into the FPGA, and applied to the small scaled solar power generation system. The embodied controller showed a stable operation characteristic with the small output voltage ripple for the intensity change of solar radiation. This result proves that the implementation of the power tracking controller using FPGA is an effective way compared to the existing one using microprocessors.

  • This paper proposes a simple MPPT control scheme of a Current- Control-Loop Error system Based that can be obtains a lot of advantage to compare with another digital control method, P&O and IncCond algorithm, that is applied mostly a PV system. An existent method is needed an expensive processor such as DSP that calculated to change the measure power of a using current and voltage sensor at the once. But, a proposed method is easy to solve the cost reduction and power unbalance problems that it is used by control scheme to limit error of a current control of common sensor. This proposed algorithm had verified through a simulation and an experiment on battery charger using PIC that is the microprocessor of a low price.
