  • A conventional elevator system, which requires simultaneous control of the speed and the position, contains complicated analog hardwares as the control system. Recent advances in LSI technology, however, suggest that the control of such ane levator system may be realized by Incorporating digital device and microcomputer. In this paper, such a possibility is investigated. In this paper, the digital controller, witch is implemented around an IMSAl 8080 microcomputer is designed for the control of model elevator system. Experiments show that this contra .system tracks the given velocity curve as well as it brings the elevator to the enact point.

  • The progress in computer technology has significantly improved the capabilities of the microcomputer image processing systems and brought down their hardware costs. This on-going trend of technological development seems to bring further substantive improvements in microcomputer image processing and decreasing hardware costs. The technical development in microcomputer image processing system including VLSI technology, semiconductor memory, disk and tape storage, and image display subsystems have been reviewed and their future trend have been projected. The impact of this technology to the development of image processing has been assessed in the time period of immediate future (2-3 years) and near future (5 years).

  • A microcomputer system consisting of 16-bit microcomputer, PCL-711S interface board, censors, and converters have been set up in order to automatically measure temperature, humidity and weight loss which are major variables of storage of apple. This system was operated by PC-LabDAS software. It has been possible to measure continuously the weight loss of Fuji apple stored in CA with the weight converter made by a miniature load cell and a strain amplifier. The temperature was checked by a k-type thermocouple and Pt 100 $\Omega$ RTD, and humidity by PQ653JAl humidity sensor. It has been possible to set up a linear equation which showers high correlationship between the estimate of temperature, weight humidity and the output of the converter in that r2 is more than 0.99. Transpiration rate, a significant factor of quality deterioration for CA storage of apple, can be estimated with these values.

  • By improving the ability of arithmatic processing with an arithmatic processor in a microcomputer and realizing the data input system for real time analysis, an FFT analyzer that is usable within the range of audio frequency is designed and constructed. The input signal passes through a gain programmable pre-amplifier and anti-aliasing lowpass filter into an analogditital converter to be converted into digital form. The converted input data is processed by an Apple II microcomputer. The results of the processing are displayed using a microcomputer display unit and can be copied on a printer or stored in a floppy disk.

  • This research developes a microcomputer program for MSD which is one of the most widely llsed predetermined time standards. The program is written in BASIC and designed mainly for desk-top or portable microcomputer to facilitate the development of standard times for time study analysis. A simple case is illustrated to show the program running procedure.

  • A method of detecting abnormal spikes occuring in the EEG of subjects suffering from epilepsy is studied. The detection scheme is to take the first derivative of EEG and to determine if it exceed some threshold value. This study is focused on the digital signal processing for detecting abnormal spikes using microcomputer.
