Electric Properties of Superconductors for Electric Power Transmission

  • [$SiO_2$] film coated as a passivation layer for YBCO based electronic devices is investigated by measuring the micro wave properties of micro strip line resonators. The $SiO_2$ film coated resonators are compared with coated resonators for two degradation conditions, a $200^{\circ}C$ annealing in air and an exposure to air at $85^{\circ}C\;85\%$ relative humidity. The $SiO_2$ film reduces the YBCO thin film degradation caused by oxygen stoichiometry change and reaction with water.

  • This paper reports experimental results on the fabrication and analysis of millimeter-sized bending actuators for active catheter by use of the shape memory alloy spring and the flexible beam. The major components of micro actuator are shape memory alloy spring, stainless steel strip and two acryl links. The micro actuator with the diameter of 2.0 mm and the length of 25 mm has been fabricated and characterized for the possible application to the micro active catheters. The measured maximum angle is $60^{\circ}$ and the response time is 5 sec.

X-대역 마이크로 스트? 방향성 결합기의 설계 (Design of X band Microstrip Directional Couplers)

  • 본 논문은 대칭 (단자 단로망이론을 근거로 분포정수 회로에 대한 매트릭스식에 의해서 결합기의 결합도와 특성임피던스간의 관계식을 얻어내었고 마이크로스트립 전송선로에 대한 칭전기학적 접근방식에 의해 등각사상법의 적용방식을 밝히고 경계치조건을 만족시키는 특성임피이던스식과 유전체 경계면상에서의 위상속도와 우수모드 및 기수모드 시의 유효유전율의 관계에 의해서 결합영역의 길이를 결정하는 식을 유도하였다. 결과식을 이용하여 원하는 방향성 결합기의 칫수를 콤퓨타 프로그램에 의하여 설계하였으며 설계한 결합기의 칫수에 따라 양면 유전체기판 Custom High K 707L-2.5을 사용하여 7개의 결합기를 제작하였다. 이 제작된 결합기는 실험에 의해서 이론치와 비교 고찰하였으며 10dB에서 20dB까지의 요구되는 결합기는 비교적 좋은 결과를 얻었다. A significant new technique in the dsvelopment of micro-wave circuits is the process of untilization of coupled lines in the transverse electro-magnetic field. The bases for this technique are the application of even-and odd-mode characteristic impedances of the transmission line. This article describes the properties of directional couplers and explains a prccfdure usrd to design micro-strip directional couplers with the aid of the computer. The article also describes the experimental results obtained from seven microstrip couplers, which were built to verify the computer program and the approximate solutions. It can be seen that in cases at X-band where couplings of 10 to 20dB are required, the computer program and approximate solutions will produce good results.

  • In this paper we studied about the effects of tuning stuvs on attenuation and phase shift for micro strip feedlines Result of the analysis are good agreement with those of experiments. We found that a better way to increase the phase shift and to dectrease the attenuation may be to use multiple stubs of distances.

Circular Polarization Diversity in Indoor Wireless Mobile Environments

  • In this paper,. with the aim of achieving the expected performance improvement for a polarization diversity system, we analyzed two-branch polarization diversity at the receiving end of a mobile link which a transmitter emits circularly polarized wave. In this analysis, to calculate the correlation coefficient considered by XPD(cross polarization discrimination) between the two received signals, a simple theoretical model of circular polarization diversity is adopted. From the analysis results, it is clearly seen that the correlation coefficient of circular polarization diversity evaluated by the XPD is less than that of conventional linear polarization diversity. And also, we designed and implemented a circular polarization diversity system with micro-strip antenna. By using the circular polarization diversity system, we analyzed the measured data in indoor NLOS(Non-Line-Of-Sight) environments. From this analysis results, it is also clearly seen that the diversity effect of circular polarization diversity system shows better performance compared to the conventional linear diversity system by about 3 dB high.

  • MCS(Micro-coplanar strip) 선은 전부터 분석되어 왔었다. 등각 지도로 나타낸 방법은 이 MCD 선의 준정적인 효과적인 유전율 그리고 독특한 임피던스를 산출하기 위하여 이용되곤 했다. 현재 이용되는 모든 성과들은 상업적인 S/W, IE3D를 사용하여 얻어진 결과와 비교할 때 유리한 계약에 있기 위해서이다. 그리고 이 부분에서, 적합한 임피던스 저역 원반꼴 안테나 여과기는 주파수 응답 개량을 위한 MCS 선으로 디자인되고 날조되었다. LPF는 구조는 또한 디자인되고 정지하여 있는 예리한 묶음성 특성이 유지하기 위하여 끈을 실행할 수 있도록 하였다. 가장 끝과 측량 결과에서의 결과는 실행한 LPF로 확인할 수 있다.

Integrated RT-PCR Microdevice with an Immunochromatographic Strip for Colorimetric Influenza H1N1 virus detection

  • Recently, Point-of-care (POC) testing microdevices enable to do the patient monitoring, drug screening, pathogen detection in the outside of hospital. Immunochromatographic strip (ICS) is one of the diagnostic technologies which are widely applied to POC detection. Relatively low cost, simplicity to use, easy interpretations of the diagnostic results and high stability under any circumstances are representative advantages of POC diagnosis. It would provide colorimetric results more conveniently, if the genetic analysis microsystem incorporates the ICS as a detector part. In this work, we develop a reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) microfluidic device integrated with a ROSGENE strip for colorimetric influenza H1N1 virus detection. The integrated RT-PCR- ROSGENE device is consist of four functional units which are a pneumatic micropump for sample loading, 2 ${\mu}L$ volume RT-PCR chamber for target gene amplification, a resistance temperature detector (RTD) electrode for temperature control, and a ROSGENE strip for target gene detection. The device was fabricated by combining four layers: First wafer is for RTD microfabrication, the second wafer is for PCR chamber at the bottom and micropump channel on the top, the third is the monolithic PDMS, and the fourth is the manifold for micropump operation. The RT-PCR was performed with subtype specific forward and reverse primers which were labeled with Texas-red, serving as a fluorescent hapten. A biotin-dUTP was used to insert biotin moieties in the PCR amplicons, during the RT-PCR. The RT-PCR amplicons were loaded in the sample application area, and they were conjugated with Au NP-labeled hapten-antibody. The test band embedded with streptavidins captures the biotin labeled amplicons and we can see violet colorimetric signals if the target gene was amplified with the control line. The off-chip RT-PCR amplicons of the influenza H1N1 virus were analyzed with a ROSGENE strip in comparison with an agarose gel electrophoresis. The intensities of test line was proportional to the template quantity and the detection sensitivity of the strip was better than that of the agarose gel. The test band of the ROSGENE strip could be observed with only 10 copies of a RNA template by the naked eyes. For the on-chip RT-PCR-ROSGENE experiments, a RT-PCR cocktail was injected into the chamber from the inlet reservoir to the waste outlet by the micro-pump actuation. After filling without bubbles inside the chamber, a RT-PCR thermal cycling was executed for 2 hours with all the microvalves closed to isolate the PCR chamber. After thermal cycling, the RT-PCR product was delivered to the attached ROSGENE strip through the outlet reservoir. After dropping 40 ${\mu}L$ of an eluant buffer at the end of the strip, the violet test line was detected as a H1N1 virus indicator, while the negative experiment only revealed a control line and while the positive experiment a control and a test line was appeared.

  • The purpose of the present study was first, to evaluate the relationship between composite surface conversion and surface discoloration, second, to know if there was difference in surface discoloration between celluloid-strip-finished composite surface and polished surface. In addition, the discoloration of composite surface was also evaluated with visual inspection or digital camera with high resolution monitor, Z100, Tetric Ceram, Spectrum, and Aelitfil were used. The composite surfaces were celluloid-strip finished (group 1), polished (group 2), celluloid-strip finished under nitrogen gas purging (group 3) or only light cured without finishing or polishing under nitrogen gas purging (group 4). The microhardness of each samples were also measured in each group. The samples of each group were also divided into 4 subgroup whether they were immediately placed in disclosing solution (0.2% Elythrosin, pH 7.0) (subgroup1), 1 day after light curing(subgroup 2), 3day after light curing(subgroup 3) or 7 day after light curing(subgroup 4). The computer controlled spectrophotometer was used to determine CIELAB coordinates ($L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$). The amounts of color difference were compared. The results were as follows; 1. There was no difference in discoloration between celluloid strip finished composite surface and polished surface. 2. The samples discolored more when they were placed in disclosing solution immediately after polymerization than other groups. 3. When the samples were light cured under nitrogen gas purging and without polishing process, they discolored more than other groups even though they showed higher micro hardness. 4. With visual inspection or digital camera, only a limited information was available in detecting composite surface discoloration.

  • Metal line을 형성하는 방법에는 그라비아 인쇄, 잉크젯 인쇄, photo 공정 후 박막 증착 공정 등을 많이 사용한다. 본 연구에서는 Micro-imprinting 공정과 DFR photo lithography 공정을 통해 음각의 미세한 pattern을 형성한 후 sputtering과 printing을 이용하여 pattern의 filling을 통해 metal line을 구현하는 것을 목표로 하였다. Pattern을 형성한 후 RIE 공정을 통해 기판 표면의 친수성 처리를 하고, SAM 공정을 통해 코팅 막의 소수성 처리를 하였다. Sputtering과 전면 프린팅 및 건조 후 strip 공정을 통해 metal line을 형성하고, 이에 대한 표면 특성과 전기적 특성을 분석하였다.
