  • In this study was investigated of possibility using the recorded micro tremor data on ground level as ambient vibration input excitation data for investigation and application Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) on the bench-scale earthquake simulator (The Quanser Shake Table) for model steel structures. As known OMA methods (such as EFDD, SSI and so on) are supposed to deal with the ambient responses. For this purpose, analytical and experimental modal analysis of a model steel structure for dynamic characteristics was evaluated. 3D Finite element model of the building was evaluated for the model steel structure based on the design drawing. Ambient excitation was provided by shake table from the recorded micro tremor ambient vibration data on ground level. Enhanced Frequency Domain Decomposition is used for the output only modal identification. From this study, best correlation is found between mode shapes. Natural frequencies and analytical frequencies in average (only) 2.8% are differences.

  • This paper presents a feature extraction algorithm for vision-based micromanipulation. In order to guarantee of the accurate micromanipulation, most of micromanipulation systems use vision sensor. Vision data from an optical microscope or high magnification lens have vast information, however, characteristics of micro image such as emphasized contour, texture, and noise are make it difficult to apply macro image processing algorithms to micro image. Grasping points extraction is very important task in micromanipulation because inaccurate grasping points can cause breakdown of micro gripper or miss of micro objects. To solve those problems and extract grasping points for micromanipulation...

  • Micro-channels for a wave micropump have been fabricated using the Stereolithography and UV Photolithography. The micro-channel with a channel height of $500\;{\mu}m$ was fabricated with stereolithography. UV photolithography was used for producing micro-channels with a channel length less than $100\;{\mu}m$. The fabrication process data including spinning rpm, pre-bake and post-bake time, and develop time for single layer and multiple layer 3D micro-structures using SU-8 photo resist are experimentally found. A film mask printed with a 40,000 dpi laser printer was used for UV lithography and micro-structures in the order of tens of micrometers in dimension were successfully fabricated.

  • A lever type $NO_2$ micro gas sensor was fabricated by MEMS technology. In order to heat up the gas sensing material to a target temperature, a micro heater was built on the gas sensor. The sensing material laid on the heater and electrodes and did not contact with the silicon base to minimize the heat loss to the silicon base. The electric power to heat up the gas sensor to a target temperature was measured. The temperature distribution of micro gas sensor was analyzed by a CFD program. The predicted electric power of micro heater to heat up the sensing material to the target temperature showed a good agreement with the measured data. The design of micro gas sensor could be modified to show more uniform temperature distribution and to consume less electric power by optimizing the layout of micro heater and electrodes.

  • Recently, the manufacturer of microscopic structures along with the development of technology to produce electronics, communication and semiconductors allows various components to be smaller in size, with higher precision. Therefore, preoccupancy of micro/nano-level machining technology in order to product micro/nano-components and parts is key issue in the field of manufacturing. In this study, machinability of micro machining was studied through the machining of aluminum, brass and steel workpiece. Inspection of the cutting force variation patterns of large numbers of micro machining indicated that characteristics of the workpiece. Surface roughness prediction methods were developed by considering the variation of the static part of the feed direction cutting force. The accuracy of the proposed approaches were tested with experimental data and the agreement between the predictions and actual observations are addressed.

  • This paper gives a basic Energy performance data of micro gas turbine and Renewable Energy(BIPV and Solar Collector System) installed in Hospital Building. The efficiency of. solar collector and BIPV system was 30%, 10% individually, and lower than micro gas turbines. Micro gas turbines are small gas turbines that bum gaseous and liquid fuels to produce a high-energy exhaust gas and to generate the electrical power. Recently the size range for micro gas turbines is form 30 to 500kW and power-only generation or in combined heat and power(CHP) systems. If micro gas turbine was operated only for electric energy, the efficiency was about 30%, but for combined heat and power, the efficiency was about 90%. Finally, installed in large hospital, Micro gas turbine system was operated to CHP mode, was high-efficiency system than Solar collector and BIPV system.

  • In multiphase systems, surface wettability is one of dominant design parameters to enhance system performance. Since surface wettability can be maximized and minimized with micro-textured surfaces, therefore micro-textured surfaces are widely countered in various research and engineering fields. In this study, for better understanding of micrometer scaled surface wettability, spreading phenomena is experimentally investigated on the hydrophilic micro-textured surfaces. By photolithography and conventional dry etching method, there are prepared the surfaces with uniformly arrayed micro-pillars. The interfacial motions of a water droplet on the test sections are visualized by high speed camera in top view. On the basis of visualization data, it is analyzed the relation between dynamic coefficient and geometrical features on micro-textured surfaces.

  • With the recent increase in the introduction of micro-electric vehicles in Korea, interest in micro-electric vehicle user satisfaction is increasing to revitalize related markets. In this paper, a basic study was conducted on the development of public services using micro-electric vehicle based on the constituent factors of user satisfaction. The survey includes: ① 'Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for selecting the priority factors of user satisfaction of micro-electric vehicles', ② 'A survey of micro-electric vehicles image' to collect data in advance for providing users' preferences and transportation services for micro-electric vehicles, ③ In order to investigate the user satisfaction level of users who actually operated micro-electric vehicles, the order of 'user satisfaction survey of micro-electric vehicle drivers' was conducted. In the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis, it was found that users regarded as important in the order of 'user utilization data', 'vehicle movement data', and 'charging service data'. In the micro-electric vehicle image survey, users perceived micro-electric vehicles more positively in terms of "safety", 'durability', 'Ride comfort', 'design', 'MOOE (Maintenance and other operating expense)', and 'environment-friendly' when comparing micro-electric vehicles with electric motorcycles. In the survey on the user satisfaction of micro-electric vehicle drivers, the use of micro-electric vehicle did not directly affect work performance efficiency, and there was an experience of being disadvantaged on the road due to the size of the micro-electric vehicle, and driving in a cluster of micro-electric vehicle for outdoor advertisements. The city's public relations effect was great, but it was concerned about safety. In the future, based on the results of this study, we plan to build a user satisfaction structural equation model, preemptively discover feedback R&D for micro-electric vehicle utilization services in the public field, and actively seek to discover new public mobility support services.

  • As 5G mobile communication services are provided, efforts are being made to provide various services to users with ultra-low latency. This raises interest in edge computing, which can provide high performance computing services near users instead of cloud computing at the network core. This paper presents an efficient operation and management scheme of a micro data center, which is an essential equipment for realizing edge computing. First, we present the functional structure and deployment plan of edge computing. Next, we present the requirements for the micro data centers for edge computing and the operation and management scheme accordingly. Finally, in order to efficiently manage resources in the micro data centers, we present resource management items to be collected and monitored, and propose a performance indicator to measure the energy efficiency.

  • The bit type holographic data storage is known to have many advantages in instrumentation for its compactness and simplicity, when compared to the 2-D page type holographic data storage. But it requires various multiplexing method for one bit hologram to achieve high storage densities. We propose an optical architecture for bit type holographic data storage which utilizes peristrophic and angular multiplexing simultaneously. Selectivity and characterization are analyzed for the proposed architecture. The possible number of multiplexing(72 bit holograms) and maximum storage densities calculation is confirmed experimentally.
