  • The micro-computer based automatic control of the overhead crane system is designed. Two control methodologies were suggested; the one is the anti-swing controller which improves poor damping characteristics of the crane and the other is the stop-position controller which minimizes the transportation position error. The input speed profile is automatically determined by the pre-programmed digital control algorithm. The experimental results show that these proposed controllers have excellent control performance as compared with those of the uncontrolled crane system.

  • Piezoelectric(PZT) actuator can substitute for solenoid which is used in fluid control field because it has faster response times and no possibility of explosion. Besides, it is available in a high temperature and it has low energy consumption. In this study, pneumatic micro valve, bimorph type PZT actuator using the softner type PZT, carbon plate as a shim and its controller circuit were suggested and investigated. Performance tests and characteristics analysis, such as displacement, force, hysteresis and frequency properties, were carried out. The displacement of the actuator measured at the end point was 63 ${\mu}m$., force of the actuator was 0.052 N and maximum operating frequency was 15Hz. Also, characteristics of the micro valve with PZT actuator were evaluated in a testing system. The results show that the suggested PZT actuator is suitable for micro valve.

  • In this paper, we propose a PC based distributed controller for a two axis convey table using real-time micro-kernel. PC, Windows program, gives an easy way to implement wealthy GUI and micro-kernel, ${\mu}$C/OS-II, provides a real-time capability to control devices. We built a real-time distributed control system using ${\mu}$C/OS-II kernel which needs to process the tasks for two motors within the desired time to synchronize the motion. We used both semaphore and message mail box for synchronization. Unlike the previous study where we used step motors for the actuator of two axes convey table, we rebuilt the convey table with DC motors and the dedicated position servo which had built in out lab, and then we implemented a realtime distributed control system by putting the micro-kernel into between PC and position servo. Moreover we developed the PC based graphic user interfaces for generating planar drawing image control. Experimental results also presented to show the Proposed control system is useful.

  • In this study, we introduce how to apply "Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to injection molding system. We report the current state of IT technology applied to produce their products in micro lens injection molding system. And we explain key technology of ICT for injection molding system and how to implement. Especially, we also mention about an embedded controller, also called as "M2M device". It provides programmable intelligent functions, communication, various interfaces, amplifier functions and mobile device connection to our application.

  • In this paper, we present mSROS(Micro-Scalable Realtime Operating System) to be applied commonly to the device controller systems in the HANbit ACE256 system. The device controller systems in HANbit ACE256 system are organized as many kinds of device controller. Applying modified PPOS(Peripheral Processor Operating System)which is an operating system for devices of the TDX-10 switching system to the firmwares for them, the inefficiency in development and maintenance exists inherently. To remove the inefficiency nd to improve the performqance of firmwares, we build a common operating system platform that including multi-tasking microkernel so that the firmwares among devices can acquire convenient development and cheap cost of maintencance. Especially, building a virtual machine as a development methodology, it is possible to remove dependency from the kernel so that any kinds of commercial real-time kernels can be used in mSROS as a basic kernel. The virtual machine in mSROS is compatible with the API of SROS(Scalable Realtime Operating System), PPOS, and CROS(Concurrent Realtime Operating System).

  • In this paper, the patient monitor consisting of ECG/Respiration Amplification, Front end CPU, Main CPU, Main Controller, Video Amplifier, Display Controller, Waveform Generator, Bus & Power Supply, 8097 Processor was developed. This patient monitor measures the patient's states in the hospital such as elecctro-cardiography, respiration, blood pressurae and temperature. The control and processing methods based on micro-processor employ the flexibility, extensibility over other conventional system. The followings are incorporated in this system. First, ECG/RESP measures the respiration by impedence pneumography. Second, FECPU utilizes an Intel 8031 microcontroller. Third, Controller function originate from a LSI CRT controller.

  • The IEC 61850 protocol proposed for the interoperability between IEDs(intelligent electronic devices) adopts the prioritized switched ethernet as its communication channel because substation bus is utilized to exchange both real-time and non real-time messages. The prioritized switched ethernet uses IEEE 802.1Q/p QoS(Quality of Service) in addition to IEEE 802.3 ethernet to enhance the real-time characteristics. However, IEEE 802.1Q/p QoS has priority-blocking problem that occurs when higher-priority frame transmission request during lower-priority frame transmission. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes P(Preemptive)-Ethernet. P-Ethernet uses the modified IEEE 802.1Q/p frame format and new priority preemption mechanism. This paper also implements P-Ethernet controller using FPGA (Virtex-4) and MicroBlaze processor. From the implementation results, P-Ethernet controller shows a improved latency and jitter of transmission period compare to the normal ethernet controller.

  • The paper presents the fuzzy control technique to adjust the gain schedule in the fuzzy controller. The micro computer is designed to the fuzzy controller to execute the proportional gain with the data of the error and speed command. The gain schedule is the fuzzy set which execute based on the fuzzy rule. The gain schedule from the fuzzy controller is fed to the sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) inverter for control the response and speed of the induction motor. The induction motor coupling to the DC motor and tachogenerator which DC motor as a load. The test result of the fuzzy control technique in the open loop control, it provides a good response and in the closed loop control it can control speed in the any condition of load design

  • This paper presents a one digital controller two topology PWM DC-DC converter that controls, simultaneously, the separate Buck converter and boost converter with the different specification by using an inexpensive and efficient 8 bit micro-controller. One timer interrupt is used for the detection of output feedback voltage, and other two timer interrupts are used for the generation of PWM waveform for Buck and Boost converter. The control characteristics of one digital controller two topology PWM DC-DC converter is validated by experimental results.
