초소형 광정보저장기기용 웨이퍼 스케일 대물렌즈 제작을 위한 회절광학소자 성형기술 개발 (Fabrication of Diffractive Optical Element for Objective Lens of Small form Factor Data Storage Device)

  • The demand fer small and high-capacity optical data storage devices has rapidly increased. The areal density of optical disk is increased by using higher numerical aperture objective lens and shorter wavelength source. A wafer-scale stacked micro objective lens with a numerical aperture of 0.85 and a focal length of 0.467mm for the 405nm blue- violet laser was designed and fabricated. A diffractive optical element (DOE) was used to compensate the spherical aberration of the objective lens. Among the various fabrication methods for micro DOE, the UV-replication process is more suitable fur mass-production. In this study, an 8-stepped DOE pattern as a master was fabricated by photolithography and reactive ion etching process. A flexible mold was fabricated for improving the releasing properties and shape accuracy in UV-replication process. In the replication process, the effects of exposing time and applied pressure on the replication quality were analyzed. Finally, the surface profiles of master, mold and molded pattern were measured by optical scanning profiler. The geometrical deviation between the master and the molded DOE was less than $0.1{\mu}m$. The diffraction efficiency of the molded DOE was measured by DOE efficiency measurement system which consists of laser source, sample holder, aperture and optical power meter, and the measured value was $84.5\%$.

Classification Algorithms for Human and Dog Movement Based on Micro-Doppler Signals

  • We propose classification algorithms for human and dog movement. The proposed algorithms use micro-Doppler signals obtained from humans and dogs moving in four different directions. A two-stage classifier based on a support vector machine (SVM) is proposed, which uses a radial-based function (RBF) kernel and $16^{th}$-order linear predictive code (LPC) coefficients as feature vectors. With the proposed algorithms, we obtain the best classification results when a first-level SVM classifies the type of movement, and then, a second-level SVM classifies the moving object. We obtain the correct classification probability 95.54% of the time, on average. Next, to deal with the difficult classification problem of human and dog running, we propose a two-layer convolutional neural network (CNN). The proposed CNN is composed of six ($6{\times}6$) convolution filters at the first and second layers, with ($5{\times}5$) max pooling for the first layer and ($2{\times}2$) max pooling for the second layer. The proposed CNN-based classifier adopts an auto regressive spectrogram as the feature image obtained from the $16^{th}$-order LPC vectors for a specific time duration. The proposed CNN exhibits 100% classification accuracy and outperforms the SVM-based classifier. These results show that the proposed classifiers can be used for human and dog classification systems and also for classification problems using data obtained from an ultra-wideband (UWB) sensor.

전기도금방법을 이용한 Ni-Diamond 복합도금층 제조에 대한 연구 (The Fabrication of Nickel-Diamond Composite Coating by Electroplating Method)

  • 니켈-다이아몬드 복합 도금은 회전전극을 이용하여 미세 다이아몬드 입자가 공침된 니켈 복합도금층에 대하여 연구하였다. 복합층의 도금시에 인가한 전류밀도와 전류형태(직류, 펄스)가 도금층의 경도와 표면형상에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보았으며 첨가제의 영향에 대하여도 연구하였다. 표면조직을 FESEM을 이용하여 관찰하였으며 Micro Victors를 사용하여 도금층의 경도를 측정하였다. 복합도금층에 다이아몬드가 들어감에 따라 경도는 100%, 마찰저항은 27%까지 증가하였다. 또한 다이아몬드 함량이 20gpl 이상인 경우 경도값이 완만하게 증가하였다.

박막제조 기술의 동향과 전망 (Trend and Prospect of Thin Film Processing Technology)

  • 박막제조 기술은 과학 기술의 기초가 되는 분야로 양질의 박막을 제조하기 위한 다양한 노력이 경주되고 있다. 박막제조는 표면개질과 함께 표면처리 기술의 한 분야이며 이중 진공증착으로 알려진 물리증착법과 화학증착법은 현대의 과학기술 연구는 물론 산업적으로 폭넓게 이용되는 박막제조 기술 중의 하나이다. 진공증착을 이용한 박막제조 기술은 나노 기술의 등장과 함께 비약적인 발전을 이루었으며 자연모사와 완전화 박막의 제조, 융복합 공정을 이용한 기능성 코팅과 Engineered Structure 구현 그리고 초고속 증착과 원가 저감 기술의 실현이 주요 이슈로 등장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 물리증착법과 화학증착법을 중심으로 박막제조 기술의 종류와 원리를 설명하고 박막제조 기술의 최신 동향과 기술적 이슈 및 향후 전망에 대해 기술한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 레이저 유도에 의한 그래핀 합성 기술 및 이를 이용한 전기/전자 소자 제조 기술과 다양한 소자 제조 기술을 검토하였다. 최근까지 개발되고 있는 3차원 그래핀 구조 활용으로 설계된 마이크로/나노 패턴화는 효율적인 제조공정으로 인하여 많은 각광을 받고 있으며, 차세대 기판 소재로의 응용까지 다양하게 개발되고 있다. 산업에서 요구하는 실제적인 적용 연구의 예들은, 레이저의 파장대역 선택, 출력 조정 및 광 간섭 기술 응용 등의 점진적인 해결방안 논의를 통해 큰 발전 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 기존의 그래핀의 전기/전자 소자 장치로의 응용 확장성은 이미 검증된 바 있으며, 새로운 합성 방식 및 기판 적용 기술은 마이크로 패키징 기술과의 통합 운용으로, 바이오센서, 슈퍼커패시터, 다공성 전기화학 센서 등 응용분야가 매우 다양하다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 레이저 기반 그래핀 가공 기술은 가까운 미래에 휴대형 소형 전자기기 및 전자 소자에 쉽게 적용 가능하리라 사료된다.

Effect of hardfacing on wear reduction of pick cutters under mixed rock conditions

  • A pick cutter is a rock-cutting tool used in partial-face excavation machines such as roadheaders, and its quality is a key element influencing the excavation performance and efficiency of such machines. In this study, pick cutters with hardfacing deposits applied to a tungsten carbide insert were made with aim of increasing their durability and wear resistance. They were field-tested by being installed in a roadheader and compared with conventional pick cutters under the same excavation conditions for 24 hours. The hardfaced pick cutters showed much smaller weight loss after excavation, and therefore better excavation performance, than the conventional pick cutters. In particular, the damage to and detachment (loss) of tungsten carbide inserts was minimal in the hardfaced pick cutters. A detailed inspection using scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry and three-dimensional X-ray computed tomography scanning revealed no macro- or micro-cracks in the pick cutters. The reason for the absence of cracks may be that the heads of pick cutters are mechanically worn after the tungsten carbide inserts have been worn and damaged. However, scanning revealed the presence of voids between tungsten carbide inserts and pick cutter heads. This discovery of voids indicates the need to improve production processes in order to guarantee a higher quality of pick cutters.

Anorthite 글라스 프릿이 첨가된 감광성 은 페이스트의 전기적 특성 및 부착력 특성 평가 (Effect of Anorthite Glass Frit on the Electrical and Adhesion Properties of Photosensitive Silver Paste)

  • 후막 광식각 기술을 이용하여 형성된 Ag 전극과 LTCC 기판 사이의 접착력을 향상시키기 위하여 무기 바인더로서 anorthite, diopside 및 MLS-62 glass frit을 첨가하여 감광성 Ag paste를 제조하였다. 소성 후의 glass pool effect를 감소시키기 위해 attrition mill을 통하여 미세 glass 분말을 준비하였다. Glass frit은 Ag powder의 5vol%~25vol%의 함량으로 첨가하여 감광성 Ag paste를 제조하였고 패턴 형성 후 $850^{\circ}C$에서 1시간 소결하였다. 전극과 기판 사이의 접착력은 micro-ball shear test 법으로 측정하였으며, Ag 전극 부착력은 glass frit의 함량 증가에 따라 증가하다가 감소하는 경향을 보이는데, 이는 과량의 glass frit 첨가로 인한 전극 내부에 액상 풀의 형성에 기인한 것으로 보여진다. Ag 전극의 면저항은 glass frit의 함량이 증가함에 따라 $0.13m{\Omega}{/\square}$에서 $2.06m{\Omega}{/\square}$까지 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 소성 전후의 전극 패턴의-수축율은 $100{\mu}m$의 선폭을 기준으로 glass frit의 첨가랑이 증가할수록 43.3%에서 35.0%로 감소하였으며, 그 결과 최소 선폭 $25{\mu}m$의 미세 전극 패턴의 형성이 가능하였다.

저탄소강 선재 압연의 주름성 결함 (Wrinkle Defect of Low Carbon Steel in Wire Rod Rolling)

  • This study examined the cause of the wrinkle defect which is frequently encountered in wire rod rolling of low carbon steel$(C0.08\~0.13wt.\%)$. Even a small defect on the surface of rolled bars can easily develop into fatal cracks during cold heading process of low carbon steel, and it is therefore necessary to minimize inherent defects on the surface of hot rolled bars. Hot rolling process of low carbon steel was analyzed to identify the cause of the wrinkle defect in conjunction with FE analysis. The integrated analysis revealed that the wrinkle defect initiated in the first stage of rolling, and it was at the billet edge where severe deformation and drastic temperature drop were present. To elucidate the micro-mechanical mechanism of the wrinkle defect, hot compression tests were carried out at various temperatures and strain rates using Gleeble-3800. The surface profile of the each other compressed specimens was compared, and rough surface lines were observed at relatively low temperatures. Those surface defects can develop into wrinkles during multi-pass rolling. To control the wrinkle defect in rolling, it is necessary to design an adequate caliber which can minimize the loss of ductility, and thereby prevent flow localization. To use the result of this study fur other steels, the quantitative measure of the wrinkle defect and flow localization parameter should be proposed.

내플라즈마성 세라믹의 표면연마를 통한 플라즈마 열화방지 (Preventing Plasma Degradation of Plasma Resistant Ceramics via Surface Polishing)

  • Plasma-resistant ceramic (PRC) is a material used to prevent internal damage in plasma processing equipment for semiconductors and displays. The challenge is to suppress particles falling off from damaged surfaces and increase retention time in order to improve productivity and introduce the latest miniaturization process. Here, we confirmed the effect of suppressing plasma deterioration and reducing the etch rate through surface treatment of existing PRC with an initial illumination level of 200 nm. In particular, quartz glass showed a decrease in etch rate of up to 10%. Furthermore, it is believed that micro-scale secondary particles formed on the microstructure of each material grow as crystals during the fluoridation process. This is a factor that can act as a killer defect when dropped, and is an essential consideration when analyzing plasma resistance. The plasma etching suppression effect of the initial illumination is thought to be due to partial over etching at the dihedral angle of the material due to the sputtering of re-emission of Ar+-based cations. This means that plasma damage due to densification can also be interpreted in existing PRC studies. The research results are significant in that they present surface treatment conditions that can be directly applied to existing PRC for mass production and a new perspective to analyze plasma resistance in addition to simple etching rates.

  • Bearings are essential for reducing vibration and wear, in order to achieve high durability and increase longevity. White metal treatment of tilting pads via centrifugal casting method has the possibility of increasing durability. However, this manufacturing method has drawbacks such as long processing time, high defect rate, and harmful health effects. Laser cladding deposition technique is a powerful method that can address these issues by decreasing the processing time and providing good adhesion. In this study, we suggest optimum conditions for laser cladding deposition that can be used in industrial applications. We deposited a soft white metal layer on SCM440 that is primarily used in shafts to minimize wear of bearing pads. During the laser deposition process, we controlled factors such as laser power, powder feed rate, and laser head speed to determine the optimum conditions. In addition, we measured the hardness using micro Vickers, and performed field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and friction tests to investigate the mechanical properties and surface characteristics for different parameters. Based on the experimental results, we suggest that laser power, powder feed rate, and laser head speed of 1.3 kW, 2.5 rpm, and 10 mm/s, respectively, constitute the optimum conditions for producing white metals using laser cladding.
