Micro turbine is an electric power generating system using a gas turbine whose rated power is under 300kW, and it is featured as a small, efficient. maintenance free and environment-friendly system. Air foil bearing has several advantages over conventional bearings for micro turbine because it is oilless and non-contact. Recently, air foil bearings for high temperature over $500^{\circ}C$ has been developed for the application of 65kW micro turbine system. In this paper, the development and current status are summarized in detail.

As more high power wide band gap devices are being utilized. the thermal management issues associated with these devices need to be resolved. High power small devices dissipate excessive heat that must be cooled, but traditional cooling methods are insufficient to provide such a cooling means. This paper will evaluate a micro-capillary pumped loop thermal management system that is incorporated into the shim of the device, taking advantage of phase-change to increase the thermal conductivity of the system. The results of the modeling of the thermal management system will be discussed.

This paper proposes a stand alone type single-phase fuel cells micro-source with a voltage sag compensator for compensating the ac output voltage variations (sag or swell) of micro-source. The proposed micro-source is consist of a PEM(polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cells simulator, a full bridge de converter, a 60Hz PWM(pulse width modulation) VSI(voltage source inverter), and a voltage sag compensator. Voltage sag compensator is similar to the configuration of hybrid series active power filter, and it is directly connected to micro-source through the injection transformer. Compensation algorithm of a voltage sag compensator adopts a single phase p-q theory. Effectiveness of the proposed the system is verified by the PSIM(power electronics simulation tool) simulation in the steady state and transient state which the proposed system is able to simultaneously compensate the harmonic current and source voltage sag or swell.
Energy recovery battery testing systems (ERBTS) have been widely used in battery manufactures. All the ERBTS are connected in parallel which forms a special and complicated micro-grid system, which has the shortcomings of low energy recovery efficiency, complex grid-connected control algorithms issues for islanded detection, and complicated power circuit topology issues. To solve those shortcomings, a DC micro-grid system is proposed, the released testing energy has the priority to be reutilized between various testing system within the local grid, Compared to conventional scheme, the proposed system has the merits of a simplified power circuit topology, no needs for synchronous control, and much higher testing efficiency. The testing energy can be cycle-used inside the local micro-grid. The additional energy can be recovered to AC-grid. Numerous experimental comparison results between conventional and proposed scheme are provided to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed technique.

In order to overcome the drawbacks of low rated power of the string inverter, the necessity of micro -inverters and future development directions will be examined by comparing the power conditioner system with existing PCS using micro inverter. Currently, string inverters have been used in household solar power generation systems, and research and penetration of micro-inverters(PV-MIC) have been expanding, which can overcome the shortcomings of string inverters starting from Europe. However, in the PV inverter industry, precise technical standards, test measurement equipment and related test methods for micro-inverters(PV-MIC) are obstacles to product development. Therefore, in this paper, considering the characteristics of micro-inverter (PV-MIC), it aims to make it competitive so that it does not lag behind advanced technology change through test measurement equipment and related technical standard.
This paper supposes the perfect power control at micro-cell and macro-cell. Under this supposition, we calculate SIR and decide the call admission by SIR. When we calculate SIR, we use the ratio of the power received the base station of micro-cell and the power received the base station of macro-cell. We analysis the performance of the system by the computer simulation while changing the ratio of power.

Hybrid energy system of fuel cell and gas turbine is discussed as the system to be used in the distributed power generation. Discussion is first directed to the distributed power generation system which is expected to be more popularly introduced both in urban and isolated areas. In the next some characteristic features of fuel cell and micro gas turbine are shortly described. In the last discussion is turn to the fuel cell and micro gas turbine hybrid system. In particular, performance characteristics of a representative SOFC/MGT hybrid system are investigated through the concept design at various power capacity levels.

The present study developed a computer simulation program to determine the optimum strategy and capacity of a micro combined heat and power(CHP) system. This simulation program considered a part-load electrical/thermal efficiency and transient response characteristics of CHP unit. The result obtained from the simulation was compared with the actual operation of 30 kW gas engine driven micro CHP system. It was found that the simulation could reproduce the daily operation behavior, such as operating hours and mean load factor, closely to the actual behavior of the system and could predict the amount of electrical/thermal output and fuel consumption with the error of less than 12%.

Environmental issue is one of the key factors to industry area using fossil fuels, because it accelerates the global warming. So it is supposed to reduce greenhouse gases around the developed nations of the world at times go. This issue is especially for the power industry. Under this background, CHP system that consists of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) system, such as natural power system (wind, solar) and fuel-cell, co-generation, also known as CHP (Combined heat and power), has been developed greatly during the last 10 years. This paper adopts optimal model using GAMS to develop methods for conducting an integrated assessment of MicroGrid system.
This study is the central axis of the MG (Micro-Grid) configuration and it has the link through the modular hybrid power source and the DC bus, and it provides the function to detect and block the illegal connection by using the standard socket, And to achieve stabilization. Development of power conversion device, smart distribution panel, integrated control system and efficient demand management are required, and compatibility with MG whole system is urgent. This is a hybrid power generation system that is safe with a common power connection protocol and can be easily connected to anyone. This makes it easy to manage data and prepare for expansion of various manufacturers' systems.
