광궤도를 이용한 이동로봇의 절대위치 보정 시스템 (Absolute Positioning System of Mobile Robot using Light Navigation Path)

  • This paper represents an absolute positioning system using a light navigation path for mobile robot. The absolute positioning system is composed of the projector unit which generates a laser beam using laser diode and mobile robot with the optical detector which has some optical sensors. The projector unit is fixed over the navigating plane of mobile robot to generate the light navigation path, and the optical detector located upper part of mobile robot detects the generated laser beam from the projector. The navigation of mobile robot is controlled by the micro-processor which compares the detected present position from the detector with the previously programmed navigation path. And experimental results show that our sensor system can be used for the absolute positioning system of the mobile robot.

초정밀작업을 위한 6자유도 마이크로 스테이지의 개발 (Development of a 6 degrees-of-freedom micro stage for ultra precision positioning)

  • A new 6 degrees-of-freedom micro stage, based on parallel mechanisms and actuated by using piezoelectric elements, has been developed for the application of micro positioning such as semiconductor manufacturing devices, high precision optical measurement systems, and high accurate machining. The micro stage structure consists of a base platform and an upper platform(stage). The base platform can effectively generates planar motion with yaw motion, while the stage can do vertical motion with roll and pitch motions with respect to the base platform. This separated structure has an advantage of less interference among actuators. The forward and inverse kinematics of the micro stage are discussed. Also, through linearization of kinematic equations about an operating point on the assumption that the configuration of the micro stage remains essentially constant throughout a workspace is performed. To maximize the workspace of the stage relative to fixed frame, an optimal design procedure of geometric parameter is shown. Hardware description and a prototype are presented. The prototype is about 150mm in height and its base platform is approximately 94mm in diameter. The workspace of the prototype is obtained by computer simulation. Kinematic calibration procedure of the micro stage and its results are presented.

피에조 이송기구를 이용한 초소형 선반 (A Micro Turning Lathe Using Piezo Feed Driver)

  • Micro-machine tool is essential in the micro/meso cutting for the sake of saving of space, resources, and energy. In this research, a micro-turning lathe was fabricated with piezoelectric feed drive mechanism, and motion of each axis was generated by stepwise mechanism with two piezo actuators. The resolution to drive the axis was $0.05{\mu}m$ and position accuracy less than $2{\mu}m$ was assured. From the positioning experiment, piezo feed mechanism is good enough for the micro machine tools. Many fuming experiments were carried out with diamond-cutting tools to evaluate cutting capability of a machine tool. Continuous flow type chip could be obtained even if the cutting speed was very low due to small diameter of workpiece. However, thorough investigation about machineability in micro/meso cutting is inevitable to assure high quality surface roughness in micro machine tool.

  • After the industrial revolution in 20 century, the world are preparing for new revolution that is society with knowledge for a basis such as IT(Information Technology), NT(Nano Technology) and BT(Bio Technology). Recently, NT is applied to various fields that are composed of science, industry, media and semiconductor-micro technology. It has need of IT that is ultra-precision positioning technology with strokes of many hundreds mm and maintenance of nm precision in fields of ultra micro process, ultra precision measurement, photo communication part and photo magnetic memory. Performance test of servo control system that is used ultra-precision positioning system with single plane X-Y stage is performed by simulation with Matlab. Analyzed for previous control algorithm and adapted for modern control theory, dual servo algorithm is developed by minimum order observer, and stability and priority on controller are secured. Through the simulation and experiments on ultra precision positioning, stability and priority on ultra-precision positioning system with single plane X-Y stage and control algorithm are secured by using Matlab with Simulink and ControlDesk made in dSPACE

GPS 음영 지역 극복을 위한 INS/초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템 설계 (An Integrated Navigation System Combining INS and Ultrasonic-Speedometer to Overcome GPS-denied Area)

  • 최근 도심지, 터널, 지하도 등과 같이 위성항법시스템 (GPS; global positioning system) 신호 수신이 어려운 환경에서 안정적으로 정확한 위치 해를 획득하기 위한 다중센서 결합 기법들이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. GPS 음영 지역에서의 위치 정확도를 개선하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 초음파의 전파 특성을 활용하여 동체의 전방 속도를 추정할 수 있는 저가의 초음파 속도계(ultrasonic-speedometer)를 설계하였고, 이를 활용하여 관성항법시스템 (INS; inertial navigation system)과 효율적으로 결합하는 INS/초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 분석하기 위해 차량 탑재 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과에 의하면 저가의 MEMS IMU (micro electro mechanical systems inertial measurement unit)를 활용하고 GPS 신호가 10초 이상 가용하지 않는 경우에도 제안된 INS/ 초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템은 위치 정보 정확도의 열화를 효과적으로 제한할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • There is a tendency nowadays to produce increasingly miniaturized electronic equipment which incorporate parts that have to be precisely positioned, like lenses, heads and CCD's in scanners, printers, copiers, VCR's, optical fiber modules, etc. In contrast to the production process of precision parts, which is currently being carried out automatically, the assemblage process is still being performed by specially skilled technicians. The assemblage process comprises normally the following steps: firstly, the parts are roughly positioned and partially fixed, secondly, the parts are manually nudged towards the target position and finally glued, screwed or welded. This paper presents a system that uses six piezo Impact Drive Mechanisms for accurate micro positioning within three degrees of freedom (lateral and longitudinal translation and rotation). The system is designed to positioning a printed circuit board with an accuracy better than 3 .mu.m (for translations), 5 mrad (for rotation).

  • 압전현상을 응용하여 설계, 제작되는 기존의 초음파 모터는 기계적인 구조가 단순하여 설계가 비교적 용이한 장점을 갖추고 있는 반면, 그 해석에 있어서는 전통적일 수치해석적인 방법을 사용하고 trial-and-error에만 의존하는 설계 방식으로 인하여 과학적으로 최적화된 설계가 이루어지지 않음으로써 초음파 모터의 효과적인 설계가 이루어지지 않는 문제점이 존재 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 3차원 유한요소법과 확률론적 최적화 기법인 진화전략 알고리즘을 이용하여 초음파 모터의 설계에 대한 최적화 기법을 제시하고 제시된 최적화 기법을 이용하여 소형 초음파 모터 중 Micro-Positioning Actuator(MPA)의 설계 및 해석을 수행하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

In-Process Cutter Runout Compensation Using Repetitive Learning Control

  • This paper presents the in-process compensation to control cutter ronout and to improve the machined surface quality. Cutter ronout compensation system consists of the micro-positioning servo system with piezoelectric actuator which is embeded in the sliding table to manipulate radial depth of cut in real-time. Cutting force feedback control was proposed in the angle domain based upon repetitive learning control strategy to eliminate chip load variation in end milling process. Micro-positioning control due to adaptive actuation force response improves the machined surface quality by cutter ronout compensation.

3차원 평형 마이크로조정장치 : 설계 고려사항 (3-DOF Parallel Micromanipulator : Design Consideration)

  • For the accuracy correction of the micro-positioning industrial robot, micro-manipulator has been devised. The compliant mechanisms using piezoelectric actuators is necessary geometrically and structurally to be developed by the optimization approaches. The overall geometric advantage as the mechanical efficiencies of the mechanism are considered as objective functions, which respectively art the ratio of output displacement to input force, and their constraints are the vertical notion of supporting leg and the structural strength of manipulation. In optimizing the compliant mechanical amplifier, the sequential linear programming and an optimality criteria method are used for the geometrical dimensions of compliant bridges and flexure hinges. This paper presents the integrated design process which not only can maximize the mechanism feasibilities but also can ensure the positioning accuracy and sufficient workspace. Experiment and simulation are presented for validating the design process through the comparisons of the kinematical and structural performances.

3D 프린터 기반 수직형 마이크로 모션 스테이지의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of 3D Printer based Piezo-driven Vertical Micro-positioning Stage)

  • This paper presents the development of a 3D printer based piezo-driven vertical micro-positioning stage. The stage consists of two flexure bridge structures which amplify and transfer the horizontal motion of the piezo-element into vertical motion of the end-effector. The stage is fabricated with ABS material using a precision 3D printer. This enables a one-body design eliminating the need for assembly, and significantly increases the freedom in design while shortening fabrication time. The design of the stage was optimized using response surface analysis method. Experimental results are presented which demonstrate 100nm stepping in the vertical out-of-plane direction. The results demonstrate the future possibilities of applying 3D printers and ABS material in fabricating linear driven motion stages.
