  • This paper aims to compose a new LED lighting control board in the LED lighting environment This LED lighting control board is designed to adjust the brightness of LED lighting depending on the change of surrounding brightness, and it is also designed to control the brightness by using ATmega128, which is an 8bit micro-controller, The PWM wave form likely to output into the LED driver is determined by the ADC value input through ADC.

  • This paper reprdsents a new scheme of neural network control system analysis the robustues of robot manipulator using digital signal processors. Digtal signal processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In additions, DSPs are a s fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Durng past decade it was proposed the well-established theorys for the adaptive control of linear systems, but there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. The proposed neuro network control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method.

  • The interface between host processor and the ShortStack Micro Server may be a Serial Communication Interface(SCI). The LonWorks control module with a high performance is developed, which is composed of the 8 bit PIC Microprocessor for host processor and the smart neuron chip for the ShoretStack Micro Server. This intelligent control board is verified as proceeding the various function tests from experimental system with an boost pump and inverter driving systems. It is also confirmed that the developed control module provides stably 0-10VDC linear signal to the input signal of inverter driving system for varying the induction motor speed. Thus, the experimental results show that the fabricating intelligent board carried out very well the various functions in the wide operating ranges of boost pump system. This developed control module expect to apply to industrial fields to require the comparatively exact control and monitoring such as multi-motor driving system with inverter, variable air volume system and the boost pump water supply systems.

  • This paper shows enhanced working performance of the battery fork-lift truck by developing the IGBT full bridge dc-dc convertor using one-chip micro-processor. The PWM pulse is generated from a 16 bit one-chip micro-processor for the speed control of DC motor. In order to ensure the operation of IGBT and motor pecewisely, IGBT gate drive circuit was designed by using current limiting IC and hige voltage limit IC. And also It is able to regenerative braking.

  • In resent years, aided by the power and capability of digital computation, the techniques of Walsh Transform have been exploited for applications in commun- ication and signal processing. This paper presents an approach of FWT by using a 16- bit word-length micro- computer. This FWT implements an in-placed decimation-in-sequency algorithm which improves processing speed and memory storage. Several examples illustrate the process and demonstrate the power spectrum of FWT and that of FFT for the waveforms

  • In this paper, we present early processing techniques for visual inspection of metallic parts. Since metallic surfaces give rise to specular reflections, it is difficult to extract object boundaries using elementary segmentation techniques such as edge detection or binary thresholding. In this paper, we present two techniques for finding object boundaries on micro bit images. First, we explain a technique for detecting blade boundaries using a directional correlation mask. Second, a line and angle extraction technique based on Harris corner detector and Hough transform is described. These techniques have been effective for detecting blade boundaries, and a number of experimental results are presented using real images.

PIV Measurements of the Pressure Driven Flow Inside a T-Shaped Microchannel (T형 마이크로채널 내부 압력구동 유동의 PIV 계측)

  • A custom micro-PIV optics assembly has been used to measure the flow field inside a T-shaped microchannel. The micro-PIV system consists of microscope objectives of various magnifications, a dichroic cube, and an 8-bit CCD camera. Fluorescent particles of diameters 620nm have been used with a Nd:YAG laser and color filters. A programmable syringe pump with Teflon tubings were used to inject particle-seeded distilled water into the channel at flow rates of $420,\;40,\;60{\mu}L/hr$. The microchannels are fabricated with PDMS with a silicon mold, then $O_2-ion$ bonded onto a slide glass. Results show differences in flow characteristics and resolution according to fluid injection rates, and magnifications, respectively. The results show PIV results with vector-to-vector distances of $2{\mu}m$ with 32 pixel-square interrogation windows at $50{\%}$ overlap.

Study on the Development of 3-axis Sensor for Robot (Robot용 3축 Force Sensor 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The force sensor is essentially required in controlling robot manipulator in such applications as precise assembly of mechanical parts, deburring and polishing and various kinds of 6-axis force sensors are developed for these application. This paper presents the algorithm of horizontal assembly of circular cross-sectional workpiece using 3-axis force sensor and procedure to develop the sensor. The sensor is calibrated and tested using AID converter and 16 bit micro computer. The result is $\pm$0.03% FS of zero stability, 0.1%FS of linearity and $\pm$0.05% FS of resolution. The sensor will be used in the research of robot application such as assembly and deburring interfaced with micro computer based robot controller which is under development at the robotics lab.

  • Embedded system area has brought an innovation and has been spread rapidly by the growth of the Internet, wireless telephony and multimedia recently. Many embedded systems are required to be real-time systems in that it needs multi-tasking and priority based scheduling. This paper introduces a real-time system that was developed with web server ability for control and monitoring system employing a real-time operating system. It discusses the design model, structure, and applications of web server system. We used SNDS100 board which has a 32-bit RISC microcontroller of ARM7TDMI core as a hardware platform. MicroC/OS kernel was used as Real-time operating system that supports a preemptive and multitasking functions. We developed a hierarhchical control and monitoring system that not only reduced system and management costs, but also enhanced reusability and portability.

  • This paper presents the development or a keypad test system for the improvement or the working environment and productivity improvement using the microprocessor PIC16F877 Chip. In order to detect the fault of keypad products, the design of hardware and software is performed in this system. All controls of the system is implemented by the 8 bit one chip micro-controller PIC. This keypad test system can also recognizes the work process, the work result and the fault position of the keypad which is made by the method of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) and construct the database about test results using personal computer. The experimental results show the effective performance of the keypad test system.
