A Generalized Analysis of Volumetric Error of a Machine Tool Machining a Sculpture (자유곡면을 가공하는 공작기계 체적오차의 일반화 해석)

  • This paper suggests generalize mathematica mode for the benefit of volumetric error analysis of a multi-axis machine tool machining a sculptured surfaces. The volumetric error, in this paper, is defined as a three dimensional error at the cutting point, which is caused by the geometric errors and the kinematic errors of each axis and alignment errors of the cutting tool. The actual cutting position is analyzed based on the form shaping model including a geometric error of the moving carriage, where a form shaping model is derived from the homogeneous transformation matrix. Then the volumetric error is obtained by calculating the position difference between the actual cutting position and the ideal one calculated from a Nonuniform Rational B-Spline named as NURES. The simulation study shows the effectiveness for predicting the behavior of machining error and for the method of error compensation.

  • This paper describes design and performance test of dual-mode horn antenna for HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station) in 47.2 - 47.5 GHz and 47.9 - 48.2 GHz bands. To obtain the optimal geometry parameters of it. the conical section is represented by a stepped transition composed of a set of cylindrical waveguide sections. For each step. the corresponding generalized scattering matrix is calculated. The elements of the matrices at the open end of the horn, are calculated by the rigorous formulas of the factorization method. To verify the theoretical results, a horn breadboard was manufactured for the medium frequency of 47.7 GHz and its radiation beam patterns were measured. The calculated and theoretical results are in good agreement.

  • Within the framework of anisotropic thermoelasticity, the problem of an interlaminar crack in a laminated fiber-reinforced composite subjected to a uniform heat flow is investigated. Under a state of generalized plane deformation, dissimilar anisotropic half-spaces with different fiber orientations are considered to be bound together by a matrix interlayer containing the crack. The interlayer models the matrix-rich interlaminar region of the fibrous composite laminate. Based on the flexibility/stiffness matrix approach, formulation of the current crack problem results in having to solve two sets of singular integral equations for temperature and thermal stress analyses. Numerical results are obtained, illustrating the parametric effects of laminate stacking sequence, relative crack size, crack location, crack surface partial insulation, and fiber volume fraction on the values of mixed mode thermal stress intensity factors.

  • This paper studies on the benefit evaluation of urban railway construction project. We compares Korean Method with Japanese in calculating the generalized cost(GC) of a trip. In Japan, the disadvantage of transferring to another mode or line is included to calculate GC of trip. And environmental effects are contained directly as rail construction benefit. But in Korea, inconvenience of transferring facilities like stairways and passageway for riding a subway is not accounted to analyse benefit. As a result, there is a little investigate to improve and overcoming the inconvenience facilities of transfer, access, and egress. So, we suggest the containing the disadvantage measure of transferring facilities when subway riderships are forecasted. That will be reduced tile capital size of subway.

3D Generalized Langevin Equation (GLE) Approach to Gas-Surface Energy Transfer : Model H + H → $H_2/Si(100)-(2*1)$

  • we have proposed a three-dimensional GLE approach to gas-surface reactive scattering, model H + H $${\rightarrow}$H_2/Si(100)-(2$ ${\times}$1) system, and the implementation of 3D GLE method on the hydrogen on silicon surface has been presented. The formalism and algori thm of the 3D GLE are worked properly in the reactive scattering system. The calculated normal mode frequencies of surface vibrations were almost identical to previous harmonic slab calculations. The reaction probabilities were calculated for two energies. The calculations show that a very large amount of energy is transferred in surface in low energy scattering. Three different types of reaction mechanisms has been observed, which can not be shown in flat and rigid surface models. Further work on the reaction mechanisms and calculations of the vibrational and rotation distributions of products is in progress. The results will be reported elsewhere soon.

  • An effective real time fault diagnosis approach for UAV engine is drawn from IMM filter and GLRT methods. For this purpose based on the linear diagnosis model derived from engine dynamic performance analysis the Kalman filter for residual estimation and each method are applied to the fault diagosis of the actuator for engine control sensors. From the process of the IMM filter application the effective FDI measure is obtained and the state responses due to actuator fault are estimated. Likewise from the GLRT method the fault magnitudes of actuator and sensors are estimated associated with some FDI functionings. The numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of the IMM filter for FDI and the GLRT in estimating the fault magnitudes of each fault mode.

  • In this paper, scattering characteristics of the rectangular waveguide with elliptical conducting post and equivalent impedance of post are analyzed by mode matching method and generalized scattering method. The scattcring characteristics of rectangular waveguide are varied by the height and eccentricity of elliptical conducting post. When the height of post(2.54mm, 4mm) is small, variation in scattering characteristics appears in total simulated frequency. But as the height of post(7.62mm, 9mm) is increased, it is dominant in higher frequency. The simulated result shows good agreement with the HFSS's result. Proposed structure and analysis method are easily applied to the design and manufacture of waveguide component with elliptical conducting post.

Generalized Panoramic Scene Reconstruction from Video Sequences Based on Outlier Rejection (아웃라이어 배제에 기초한 일반화된 파노라마 영상 재구성)

  • In this paper, we propose a new practical motion model that can exploit the general properties of camera motion in constructing a panorama. accounting for panning. tilting, and evert the change in focal length of the camera. We also present an efficient algorithm to handle moving objects or noose in the scene based on outliers rejection. Spatial and temporal statistical properties of motion field are exploited to detect the outliers. The proposed algorithm removes moving objects or noise from the panoramic Image so that mode clear and complete view of the background Image can be obtained. This method does not require assumptions or a priors knowledge of the scene. The entire process is fully automatic as this method does not require any manual correction in the process of constructing a Panorama. The proposed algorithm is tested on the broadcasting images of soccer games. Oun simulation result shows that this method is superior to conventional image mosaicing algorithms.

  • In this paper we reanalyze Kohonen‘s learning vector quantizing (LVQ) Learning rule which is based on Hcbb’s learning rule with a view to a gradient descent method. Kohonen's LVQ can be classified into two algorithms according to 6learning mode: unsupervised LVQ(ULVQ) and supervised LVQ(SLVQ). These two algorithms can be represented as gradient descent methods, if target values of output neurons are generated properly. As a result, we see that the LVQ learning method is a special case of a gradient descent method and also that LVQ is represented by a generalized percetron-like LVQ(PLVQ).

  • An analytic solution of circular aperture antenna with a feed transition is presented using a hybrid method of generalized scattering matrices and integral transform. The method can give an analytic solution to antennas with integrated filters or mode converters, etc. Scattering matrices and integral transform techniques are combined to accommodate discontinuities connected between an aperture and a feed waveguide, and radiated field from the aperture. The method gives radiation fields as well as return losses of the antenna.
