A Study on the Development of Next Generation Wireless PAN Algorithms with Location Awareness Technique (위치인식기반의 차세대 무선 PAN 알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose the channel sounding scheme which is made for ideal communication between some application as well as the short distance of high speed data transmission in MIMO-OFDM system for Wireless PAN. This method is able to perceive the duration of the impulse response through the delaying of power delay profile, modeled a power delay profile which has an attenuate characteristic, and obtained the coefficient of channel response by ML (maximum likelihood). Through the amplitudes, phases and delays associated with each multipath component which were acquired from this channel sounding scheme, we can describe the wave propagation characteristics of channels between the transmitter and receiver so that the receiver could enhance not only the reliability but also the ability of communication link. Multi agent system models can be used to analyze the path of the system within any time frame. Further, parameter values can be perturbed to examine how the path of the system changes in response to exogenous shocks.

  • In this paper, we propose a new power-efficient and reliable connected dominating set based routing protocol in the mobile ad hoc networks. Gateway nodes must be elected in consideration of residual energy and mobility because frequent reconstruction of connected dominating set result in transmission error for route losses. If node density is high, it results in a lot of contentions and more delays for network congestion. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new construction method of connected dominating set that supports reliable and efficient data transmission through minimizing reconstruction of connected dominating set by delaying neighbor set advertisement message broadcast in proportion to weighted sum of residual energy, mobility, and the number of neighbor nodes. The performance of the proposed protocol is proved by simulation of various conditions.

Measurement of Effectiveness of Signal Optimized Roundabout (회전교차로의 접근로 신호최적화를 통한 도입효과 분석)

  • PURPOSES : Although signalized intersections have been considered the best way to control traffic volume in urban areas for several decades, roundabouts are currently being discussed as an alternative way to control traffic volume, especially when traffic is light. Because a roundabout's efficiency depends on the load geometry as well as the traffic volume, design guidelines for roundabouts are recommended only if the incoming traffic volume is very low. It is rare to substitute a roundabout for an existing signalized intersection in urban areas. This study aims to estimate the benefits from the transformation of an existing signalized intersection into a roundabout in an urban area. When there is a more moderate volume of traffic, roundabouts can be effectively used by optimizing signals located at an approaching roadway. METHODS : The methodologies of this paper are as follows: First, a signalized intersection was analyzed to determine the traffic characteristics. Second, the signalized intersection was transformed into a roundabout using VISSIM microscopic traffic simulation. Then, we estimated and analyzed the effects and the performance of the roundabout. In addition, we adjusted a method to improve the benefits of the transformation via the optimization of signals located at an approaching road to control the incoming traffic volume. RESULTS : The results of this research are as follows: The signal-optimized roundabout improved delays compared with the signalized intersection during the morning peak hour, non-peak hour, and evening peak hour by 1.78%, 12.45%, and 12.72%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS : According to the simulation results of each scenarios, the signal-optimized roundabout had less delay time than the signalized intersection. If optimized signal control algorithms are installed in roundabouts in the future, this will lead to more efficient traffic management.

An Adaptive Delay Control based on the Transmission Urgency of the Packets in the Wireless Networks (무선망에서 패킷의 전송 긴급성을 고려한 적응적 지연 제어 방안)

  • This paper proposes a traffic management policy for delay control in the wireless networks. The so-called EDD(Earliest Due Date) scheme is adopted as the packet scheduling policy, so that the service provision is performed in the order of the transmission urgency of the backlogged packets. In addition, we derive a formula to determine the contention window, one of the MAC parameters, with the goal of minimizing the non-work conserving characteristics of the traditional MAC scheme. This method eliminates the burden of the class-wise parameter settings which is typically required for the priority control. Simulations are performed to show the validity of the proposed scheme in comparison with the policy that adopts the class-level queue management such as the IEEE 802.11e standard. Smaller delays and higher rates of delay guarantees are observed throughout the experiments.

  • A ROUNDABOUT is more effective way to improve safety and prevent delays than signal intersection. ROUNDABOUT has been known highly safe treatment that could be used as a method to reduce conflicts between vehicles, to reduce travel speed in inner or approach of intersection, and to have no speed difference between drivers than intersection. In this study, the effective analysis on the installation of ROUNDABOUT was carried out using computer-based simulation tool VISSIM, in order to evaluate performance and safety of ROUNDABOUT and develope a warrant. In conclusion, the results indicated that there was remarkable increase of Y-intersection capacity and decrese of delay, and improvement of traffic safety. Finally, A nice feature of this study is to firstly attempt to use microscopic simulator to evaluate the effectiveness of ROUNDABOUT and suggest a passible operation boundary.

  • In airlines, on-time performance (OTP) is a measure of an airline's reliability and can be used as an important indicator when compared to other airlines. This study analyzed the effects and strength of delay factors on airline punctuality by analyzing the data of domestic K airlines for one year before and after March 2020, when the number of flights drastically decreased due to the corona virus. In addition, delays caused by seasonal weather effects were analyzed, and how the number of passengers who plummeted due to the corona situation had an effect on delay factors was studied. As for the delay factors, the delay codes of K airline which added its own codes to the delay codes of IATA, were applied. Based on the results of the analysis, we would like to suggest a method to minimize the delay.

Research on the Replacement of LiDAR for AMR to Minimize Production Lags (공정 지연 최소화를 위한 AMR의 LiDAR 교체 방법에 대한 연구)

  • In this research, a method for minimizing the replacement time of AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot), which is used in various industrial groups such as logistics and manufacturing, was studied in the event of a LiDAR failure. In this regard, a general LiDAR exchange process was defined and a new exchange process based on the newly designed jig, which is mounted on the AMR, for the quick change of LiDAR was proposed. The experiment is conducted using commercialized AMR which was developed for application in the factory of an automobile manufacturing company. It was confirmed that LiDAR can be replaced and aligned within 24 minutes when the new exchange process is employed, which is about 76% or more shorter than the general LiDAR exchange process. As a result, we can minimize AMR downtime and overall process delays by applying the proposed process.

Managerial Overconfidence and Stock Price Delay (경영자과신성향이 주가지체에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - This study deals with the manager's overconfidence and stock price delay, and verified whether the stock price delay phenomenon changes as the overconfidence increases. Design/methodology/approach - Manager overconfidence means that managers have over confidence in their positions or abilities, and was measured according to Schrand and Zechman (2012). Stock price delay is a phenomenon in which information of company is not immediately reflected in the stock price, but is reflected over time, and was measured by the method suggested in a study by Hou and Moskowitz (2005). The analysis subjects used in this study are companies listed on the KOSPI market between 2011 and 2019, and the final sample is 5,509 company-years. Findings - As a result of the verification, it was shown that the stock price delay decreased as the manager's overconfidence increased, and this effect was amplified as the foreign shareholder's share ratio increased and the number of follow-up financial analysts increased. This means that as the manager's overconfidence increases, he actively provides high-quality information to the capital market. In addition, as a result of subdividing the manager's overconfidence into the investment and capital raising aspects, the capital raising aspect has a significant effect on reducing stock delays. This can be interpreted as the fact that managers with overconfident tendencies have a greater incentive to satisfy investors' information needs. Research implications or Originality - In previous studies, the characteristics of managers with strong overconfidence have both positive and negative aspects. The results of this study are significant in that they clearly demonstrated the positive aspect through the market variable of stock price delay, and it is expected to help capital market stakeholders understand the characteristics of managers with a strong propensity for overconfidence.

Development of Digital Controller and Monitoring System for UPS Inverter (UPS 인버터의 디지털 제어기 및 모니터링 시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, a new fully digital control method for UPS inverter, which is based on the double control loop such as the outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop, is proposed. In the proposed control system, overshoots and oscillations due to the computation time-delay are compensated by explicit incorporation of the time-delay in the current control loop transfer function. The inner current control loop is adopted by an internal model controller. The internal model controller is designed to a second order deadbeat reference-to-output response which means that its response reaches the reference in two sampling time including computational time-delays. The outer voltage control loop employing P-Resonance controller is proposed. The resonance controller has an infinite gain at resonant frequency, and the resonant frequency is set to the fundamental frequency of the reference voltage in this paper. Thus the outer voltage control loop causes no steady state error as regard to both magnitude and phase. The effectiveness of the proposed control system has been verified by the simulation and experimental results respectively.

A Study on Considering Non-Working Days for Determination Normal Project Duration in the Railway Bridgework Construction (철도 교량공사의 적정공사기간 산정을 위한 비작업일 산정에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, despite a decrease in the number of working days and an increase in the number of non-working days due to an increase in the abnormal climate and the revision of the Labor Standards Act, a standard construction period reflecting this has not been established. For this reason, even if the appropriate construction period is calculated at the site, there is a situation where delays occur due to unexpected circumstances. Therefore, this study proposes a method of calculating the number of non-working days for railway bridgework construction that reflects changes in construction conditions and climate change and reflects this to railway bridgework construction, and the number of working days was calculated. As a result, the number of non-working days by region and month in Korea was derived, and through this, the necessity of regulations and standards for appropriate construction periods reflecting regional characteristics and characteristics of each construction type was presented.
