  • The final purpose of this paper is the enhancement of speech recognition rate under the matched telephone environment between training data and test data. To analyze the effect by the distortion of the changing telephone channel on every call, MFCC is used as the feature parameter and CMN, RTCN, and RASTA are used as channel compensation techniques. For each case, the variation of feature parameters of all phones is analyzed. And, we find recognition rates according to each compensation method using the continuous HMM recognizer, and examine the relationship between variation and recognition rate.

HOMOGENEOUS SOLUTION FOR SW LACERTAE

  • We have analyzed collected photoelectric light curves for light variations of SW Lac. The method of Fourier analysis was adopted to quantify the light variation from season to season. We found the linear relation between the Fourier coefficient, B1 and the magnitude difference between two maxima. The total light of the system has been decreased as much as 0m.04 during approxiamately 20 years time interval. Photoelectric parameters including spot parameters for all light curves were obtained by the method of the Wilson and Devinney differential correction in order to secure the variations of parameters from season to season. SW Lac, not like RS CVn type stars, required to adjust all parameters as well as spot parameters for a reasonable fit to the observations of each epoch. A surface temperature of cooler star is one of the most sensitive parameters to affect a shape of light curve of SW Lac. We conclude that the shape of light curve of SW Lac varies even during one season as well as season to season. The light curve is mainly caused by inhomogeneous surface temperature due to strong chromospheric activity of the system.

  • Fluttering ghost which is the most severs picture impairment in mobile TV reception under multipath fading environments can be detected by measuring the dynamic variation of the synchronizing pulse timing. And also, the occurrence-stucture of fluttering ghost are directly correlated with the multipath parameters. This paper describes the quantitative evaluating method of the mobile TV pictures impaired by multipath parameters by means of the spectral analysis of synchronizing timing fluctuation. The ghost-flutter curve derived from the spatial amplitue spectrum of synchronizing pulse timing fluctuation express well the spatial variation characteristic, and it has been found to be the quantitative evaluating measure of picture impairment in mobile reception. A correspondence between the ghost-flutter curve (and/or index) and picture quality opinion test results is established.

하니콤 코어 샌드위치 구조 날개의 아음속 플러터 특성 (Subsonic Flutter Characteristics of a Sandwich Structure Wing with Honeycomb core)

  • The flutter characteristics of all movable tail wing with honeycomb sandwich structure have been studied in this study. The present wing model has a airfoil cross section and the linear variation of spanwise thickness. Structural vibration analysis is performed based on the finite element method using sandwich and beam elements. Unsteady aerodynamic technique used on the doublet lattice method has been effectively used to conduct the frequency-domain flutter analyses. The parametric flutter studies have been performed for various structural design parameters. Computational results on flutter stability due to the variation of structural parameters are presented and its related characteristics are investigated through the comparison of results.

Monte Carlo Simulation Study: the effects of double-patterning versus single-patterning on the line-edge-roughness (LER) in FDSOI Tri-gate MOSFETs

  • A Monte Carlo (MC) simulation study has been done in order to investigate the effects of line-edge-roughness (LER) induced by either 1P1E (single-patterning and single-etching) or 2P2E (double-patterning and double-etching) on fully-depleted silicon-on-insulator (FDSOI) tri-gate metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). Three parameters for characterizing the LER profile [i.e., root-mean square deviation (${\sigma}$), correlation length (${\zeta}$), and fractal dimension (D)] are extracted from the image-processed scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image for each photolithography method. It is experimentally verified that two parameters (i.e., ${\sigma}$ and D) are almost the same in each case, but the correlation length in the 2P2E case is longer than that in the 1P1E case. The 2P2E-LER-induced $V_TH$ variation in FDSOI tri-gate MOSFETs is smaller than the 1P1E-LER-induced $V_TH$ variation. The total random variation in $V_TH$, however, is very dependent on the other major random variation sources, such as random dopant fluctuation (RDF) and work-function variation (WFV).

공회전시 연소의 사이클 변화 모델링 및 확인실험 (Modeling and its Experimental Validation on Cycle Variability of Combustion at Idle Operation)

  • The engine speed fluctuation at idle operation mainly comes from cyclic variation of combustion in SI engine. In the present study, engineering model that is representing the cyclic variation of combustion was proposed for the sub-model of the engine cycle simulation. From the observed behaviors of the mass burn rates, probability density functions for the parameters of Wiebe function were defined. The mass burn rate of each cycle is obtained by Monte Cralo perturbation method with the probability function. The simulation results shows that trends of cylinder pressure variation and imep distribution follow up with those of experimental results at idle condition.

  • 최근 대부분의 화자확인 시스템은 패턴 인식 접근방식에 기인하고 있다. 패턴 분류기의 성능은 화자의 특징 파라미터를 어떻게 분류하는가 하는 데에 기인한다. 그 특징 파라미터를 잘 분류하기 위해서는, 화자간 변이를 최대화하고 특징 파라미터 간 거리를 효과적으로 측정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 개인 모델과 월드 모델을 동시에 배치함으로써 화자간 변이를 최대화 할 수 있는 개선된 혼합 모델 구조를 제안한다. 결정 과정 시 제안한 혼합 모델 방식을 사용함으로써 화자간 변별력을 최대화 할 수 있었다. 또한, 입력데이터에 대한 개인 모델과 월드 모델의 거리비율에 따라 심볼 확률 값을 가중하여 벡터 양자화 에러를 줄이는 가중치 함수를 제안 한다. 실험 결과, 이두 가지 방법을 취함으로써 DCF (Detection Cost Function)를 $2.37\%$에서 $1.16\%$로 낮출 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we study myoelectric signal variation through kyungrak needle stimulation. The signal are detected from two kyunrak route of arm; before and after stimulation of a needle, and before and after needle rotation. The detected signals are analyzed at frequency domain to search a characteristic parameters. At the rotation method, spectrum denity of the signals varies large but spectrum is not detected before and after rotation. We can not see any relation bet ween spectrum variation and rotational direction. As the results, when the same stimulation method is used at two different kyungrak route respectively, it is found that the variation of the myoelectric signal is not same.

Measuring electrical parameters of ferroelectric liquid crystals using universal current reversal method

  • The universal current reversal method is used for the simultaneous measurement of response time (${\tau}$), azimuthal angle (${\varphi}_o$), spontaneous polarization ($P_S$), and rotational viscosity (${\gamma}_{\varphi}$) of two ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs). The application of AC field in FLCs results in reorientational current, which is further analyzed to obtain various parameters. The variation in the parameters with temperature follows the typical trend predicted by the theory. The theoretical curve fits well into the experimental data. Its comparison with traditional current reversal method is confirmed to address certain limitations of that method.

Improvement of Surface Integrity in Hard Turning With Sensitivity Analysis of Cutting Parameter

  • This paper presents study of effects of cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on the surface roughness in hard turning. Taguchi Method and linear regression model of design parameters were utilized to identify the controlling process parameters that can monitor the surface roughness in the hard turning operation. In the process optimization, experimental planning was performed using the orthogonal array and concept of the signal-to-noise ratio. Cutting parameters such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut were selected as process parameters and the ANOVA analysis showed that feed rate and cutting speed had more effect on the roughness variation that depth of cut.
