Identification of In-Home Appliance Types Based on Analysis of Current Consumption Using Energy Metering Circuit

  • One of the important applications of activity sensing in the home is energy monitoring. Many previous methodologies for detecting and recognizing household appliances have been proposed. This paper presents an approach that uses an energy metering circuit (EMC) to classify and identify the various electrical devices in home based on root-mean-square (RMS) consumed current value. EMC gathers the RMS current values created by appliance state transition (e.g., on to off) and apparatus operating process. In this paper, an identification algorithm is proposed to detect a change in current levels using the standard deviation of current signals and their average values. In addition, characteristic of the appliance is extracted concerning four feature parameters concerning the number of current levels, the minimum level, the maximum level, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of them. Experiment results validate the reliable performance of the proposed identification method for 11 representative appliances.

  • AMR(Automatic Meter Reading)/AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure) is actively deployed all over the world. efficient, economical, stable and reliable system need to push forward the AMR/AMI business, so various researchs are in progress. In electric power system of domestic, a transformer is connected average twenty to thirty households and PLC is possible to communication within household connected same transformer. So if server and data concentrator unit(DCU) share circuit line through communication between transformers, communication network is able to efficient. Therefore we design new communication method between DCUs and test it and demonstrate the performance.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크 기반의 전력 소모 측정 데이터를 모바일 기기로 제공하는 전력 검침 시스템을 제안한다. 디지털 전력량계의 전력 소모 측정데이터를 전송하는 아두이노 보드와 전송된 정보를 수신하는 게이트웨이 및 수집된 전력량을 환산하는 서버와 소비전력을 스마트폰에 모니터링하는 앱으로 구성된다. 전력미터기는 Zigbee를 이용한 Sensor Network를 구성하여 전력데이터를 전송하며 아두이노 보드를 통해 서버에서 소모전력량과 요금을 계산하고, 무선 LAN을 통해 서버에 접속한 모바일 단말기에 전력사용량을 실시간으로 알 수 있도록 한다. 이러한 전력 검침 시스템을 구현하여 실시간으로 집안의 소모전력을 모니터링할 수 있으며 전력절감을 유도하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존에 전력소비자들의 전기요금을 낮추기 위해 전력사업자가 설치하는 스마트미터(smart meter)에 의존하는 대신 가정 내 PLC(Power Line Communication)망을 활용하여 소비자의 기기별로 에너지모니터링 환경을 구축하여 스마트그리드를 통해 소비자가 얻을 수 있는 많은 혜택을 제공할 수 있는 스마트플러그 기반 AMI 시스템을 개발하고자 한다.

  • The flow computer named Kogas I has been developed for measuring high flow natural gas. The developed model is classified as individual type in order that one flow computer covers one metering line. Nearly all of the functions are adopted similar to the foreign, commercial flow computer, and the merit of this flow computer is being able to apply for both orifice and turbine meters. The performance has been verified through the field test for 2 years.

  • 본 연구는 제4세대 미터링(Metering) 기술을 이용한 전력전자상거래 즉 VSEM(Value Storage Electricity Meter)을 위한 웹기반 미터링 시스템의 보안성 분석 및 평가에 관한 연구이다. 특히 수요자 측면에서 스마트카드(지불결제)를 이용한 본인 확인(SIM카드), 키 값 확인, VSEM서버에서의 각 수요자와 공급자 데이터 사이의 무결성 확인(Integrity)과 부인 방지(Non-repudiation)를 위한 기존 시스템의 보안 문제를 분석하고 이를 해결할 수 있는 보안 모델을 제안한다.

  • This paper describes a system for measurement and control of a gas flow. In order to measure the flux of gas and control a vavle according to flux, this system was developed. This system is implemented on the personal computer and its environment is developed tool called TMS. This system includes a main program and Tele-Metering Unit for transmitting correcting flow value based on temperature and pressure in flow computer and AD converter for transmitting instantaneous flow rate, temperature and pressure as interface part of personal computer. This system was made by Visual C++ program. Using this system, inspected data for the recognition of transmitting flow value are generated on the screen, file and printer. The activity, reliability of this system was verified on Daegu-Citygas that aids the system for the acquisition of inspected data by realtime application.

  • This study was accomplished to develop a pneumatic granular applicator that can be attached to the conventional ride-on rice transplanter. Operating conditions of a metering device for the applicator were determined so as to obtain the required discharge rate of granules for field application. The shape and size of diffuser was selected for the applicator and the spacing between diffusers on a boom and the boom height were determined as an optimal application condition for uniform distribution. The diffuser spacing of 1m for the fertilizer and the diffuser spacing of 0.8m for the pesticide at the boom height over 0.8m were acceptable.

  • Extrusion is one of the most important operations in the polymer-processing industry. Development of models for extrusion and computer tools offer a route to developing reliable and optimized process designs. The models are based on the analysis of physical phenomena encountered during the process. Balance equations for mass, momentum and energy are fundamental to the problem. A predictive computer model has been developed for the single screw extruders with conventional screws of different geometry. The model takes into account melting zones of the extruder and describes an operation of the extruder system, making it possible to predict mass flow rate of the polymer, pressure and velocity profiles along the extruder screw channel. The simulation parameters are the material and rheological properties of the polymer; the screw pitch, and screw speed.

  • In this paper, characteristic tests for current transformers with maximum mA secondary current of 250 mA is performed. The purpose of this paper is not only to test the mA current transformers by following the IEEE Draft Standard for Current Transformers with Maximum mA Secondary Current of 250mA, but also to take into consideration certain applications in the use of the mA CTs for billing purposes.
