  • 비대면 문화가 확대됨에 따라 다양한 산업의 서비스가 메타버스와 접목되어 사람들에게 제공되고 있다. 사회적 고립 등의 문제로 상담에 대한 필요성이 높아지고 있음에 주목하여 Unity를 사용해 비대면 상담이 가능한 메타버스 플랫폼을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 자연스러운 아바타의 움직임, 카메라의 이동, Firebase와의 데이터 전달과 Photon 동기화 기능들을 가지는 3D 월드맵의 구현에 필요한 기술들을 포함하였다. 기존에 대면으로 진행되는 상담 서비스를 대체하여 심리 상담에 대한 진입 장벽을 낮추고 접근성을 높이고자 하며, 해당 플랫폼은 여러 비즈니스들과 결합할 수 있음에도 그 의의가 있다고 본다.

  • 현재의 메타버스 서비스는 메타버스 학술대회, 메타버스 입학식 등과 같이 단순히 실제 세계의 대체품 역할만을 수행하고 있으며 앞으로의 메타버스는 실제 세계와 가상 세계가 융합된 실·가상 융합형 메타버스 서비스로 발전할 것이다. 실제 세계와 가상 세계가 융합하기 위해서는 실제 세계에 존재하는 다양한 물리적 개체의 정보가 가상 세계로 반영되어야 하며 메타버스 서비스의 규모가 증가함에 따라 높은 확장성을 지원하는 통신 기술이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 높은 확장성의 통신 미들웨어인 DDS와 시간 확정적 전송을 보장하는 TSN 표준을 융합하여 메타버스 서비스가 요구하는 방대한 데이터를 시간 확정적으로 전송할 수 있는 DDS-TSN 계층 구조를 설계한다.

  • This thesis was developed so that users can access tourism services more easily by utilizing Unity based on the metaverse. The core function and environment of the program were created using Unity, a game production tool, to create a virtual space. In the virtual space, it is implemented so that the tourist service can be used from various angles and positions through NPCs to which control and camera viewpoints are applied. This project is a content that allows you to visit tourist attractions in a virtual world without going to the site by using virtual reality technology. The background and goal of the project is to make it into a game form using a UI frame and fuse it into a simple game form to add fun elements to enable virtual reality tourist experience applying game for tourist attraction publicity.

  • This thesis is a study of content development utilizing media outlets to date through digital humans. The trend of global content is that the video content industry, including the character business, is growing. Lil Michela, who was selected as one of the 25 most influential people on the Internet by Time magazine in 2018, Nasua, who appeared in a SK Telecom commercial, and Rosie, who appeared in a Shinhan Bank commercial, are representative. Digital humans, which are driving new content, are computer-generated human characters with various characteristics and are referred to as virtual humans, metahumans, and cyber humans. With the rise of the metaverse after COVID-19, digital humans are being utilized in various forms such as media and marketing as an element of visual content. In the form of media, we can see that the boundaries between the offline and digital worlds are converging, and in the form of marketing, we can see that digital humans connect consumers and products more naturally. In the form of interaction, it is possible to achieve two-way communication through various methods of operation, and through these factors, it is possible to go beyond behavioral communication in the form of memorialization to emotional communication through AI technology. What can be seen through these processes is that through the currently developing digital human production methods and AI functions, not only experts but also non-experts can create quality contents, and new directions of contents will appear, and contents that can provide immediate feedback by bringing consumers and creators closer together have been studied.

A Study on XR Handball Sports for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

  • This study proposes a novel approach to enhancing the social inclusion and participation of individuals with developmental disabilities. Utilizing cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) technology, we designed and developed a metaverse simulator that enables individuals with developmental disabilities to safely and conveniently experience indoor handicapped handball sports. This simulator provides an environment where individuals with disabilities can experience and practice handball matches. For the modeling and animation of handball players, we employed advanced modeling and motion capture technologies to accurately replicate the movements required in handball matches. Additionally, we ported various training programs, including basic drills, penalty throws, and target games, onto XR (Extended Reality) devices. Through this research, we have explored the development of immersive assistive tools that enable individuals with developmental disabilities to more easily participate in activities that may be challenging in real-life scenarios. This is anticipated to broaden the scope of social participation for individuals with developmental disabilities and enhance their overall quality of life.

  • One More Pumpkin won the grand prize at the 2023 Dubai International AI Film Festival, and new possibilities were also opened through the International AI and Metaverse Film Festival (GAMFF), which was held for the first time in Korea. Generative works began to stand out in earnest, with 527 diverse works from 42 countries at home and abroad using AI and metaverse technology submitted to this contest. AI is being used in a variety of fields, including the creation and implementation of digital characters through combination with VFX, improving the efficiency of video production, and managing the overall video production process. This contributes to saving human and material resources required for production and significantly improving the quality of produced videos. However, generative AI also has ambiguity in copyright attribution, ethical issues inherent in the learned dataset, and technical limitations that fall short of the level of human emotion and creativity. Accordingly, this study suggests implications at the level of production, screening, and use, as generative AI may have an impact in more areas in the future.

Design Characteristics of Augmented Reality Digital Fashion (증강 현실 디지털 패션의 디자인 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze contemporary sociocultural phenomena and values through characteristics of augmented reality (AR) digital fashion design. The research method included a literature review on the metaverse and augmented reality, combined with a case study using both quantitative analysis through big data text mining and qualitative analysis through constant comparison. Data analysis was conducted using Python-based open-source tools: First, 6,725 data entries were collected from AR digital fashion platforms and brands identified in articles from Vogue and Vogue Business containing keywords of 'augmented reality' and 'digital fashion. Second, text preprocessing involved stop word removal, tokenization, and POS-tagging of nouns and adjectives using the NLTK library. Third, top 50 keywords were extracted through term frequency (TF) and TF-IDF analysis, with results visualized using a word cloud. Fourth, characteristics of products' external design and internal concepts that contained top keywords were classified, with their value examined through repeated comparison. Results indicate that AR digital fashion design has the following characteristics. First, it embodies surreal fantasy through designs that mimic natural biological patterns using 3D scanning and modeling technology. Second, it presents a trans-boundary aspect by utilizing the fluidity of body and space to challenge vertical and discriminatory social structures. Third, it imagines a new future transcending traditional sociocultural concepts by expanding perceptions of space and time based on advanced technological aesthetics. Fourth, it contributes to sustainability by exploring alternatives for the fashion industry in response to climate change and ecological concerns.

  • Korea has developed as an influential country over Asia and all over the world based on remarkable economic development. And the background of this development was possible due to the existence of those who sacrificed precious lives and contributed to the nation's existence in the past crisis. Every year, Korea holds an annual commemorative event with people of national merit, Korean War veterans, and their families, expressing gratitude for sacrifices and contributions at home and abroad, and providing economic support. The tragedy of the Korean War and the pro-democracy movement in Korea over the past half century will one day become a history of the distant past over time. As generations change and the purpose and method of exchange by region change, the tragic situation that occurred earlier and the way people sacrificed for the country are expected to be different from before. In particular, it is true that the number of Korean War veterans and their families is gradually decreasing as they are now old. In addition, due to the outbreak of global infectious diseases such as COVID-19, it is difficult to plan and conduct face to face events as well as before. Currently, Korea's digital technology is introducing various methods. 5G communication networks, smart-phones, tablet PCs, and smart devices that can experience virtual reality are already used in our real lives. Business meetings are held in a metaverse environment, and concerts by famous singers are held in an online environment. Artificial intelligence technology has also been introduced in the field of human resource recruitment and customer response services, improving the work efficiency of companies. And it seems that this technology can be used in the field of veterans. In particular, there is a metaverse technology that can vividly show the situation during the Korean War, and a way to digitalize the voices and facial expressions of currently surviving veterans to convey their memories and lessons to future generations in the long run. If this digital technology method is realized on an online platform to hold a veterans' celebration event, veterans and their families on the other side of the world will be able to participate in the event more conveniently.

Development of 3D Printed Fashion Jewelry Design Using Generative AI (생성형 AI를 활용한 3D 프린팅 패션 주얼리 디자인 개발)

  • With the advent of the 4th industrial era and the development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), metaverse, 3D printing, and 3D virtual wearing systems, the fashion industry continues to attempt to use digital technology and introduce it into various areas. The purpose of this study was to determine whether fashion and digital technology could be combined to create works and to suggest ways to apply digital technology in the fashion industry. As a research method, image generative AI, Midjourney was applied to the initial design ideation stage to derive inspiration images. 3D printing technique was then introduced as a production method to print fashion jewelry. As a result of the research, a total of six jewelry designs printed with a 3D printer were developed. One necklace, one bracelet, three earrings, and one ring were developed. This study identified the possibility of applying digital technology to real fashion jewelry design products by designing jewelry based on inspirational images derived from image generation AI and producing pieces of fashion jewelry with 3D modeling tasks and 3D printing outputs. This study is significant in that it expands the expression area of fashion jewelry design that combines digital technology.

  • Currently, the domestic traditional market has not escaped the swamp of stagnation that began in the early 2000s despite various projects promoted by many related players such as the central government and local governments. In order to overcome the crisis faced by the traditional market, various R&Ds have recently been conducted on how to build a smart traditional market that combines information and communication technologies such as big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. This study analyzes various previous studies, users of traditional markets, and application cases of ICT technology in foreign traditional markets since 2012 and proposes a model to build a smart traditional market using ICT technology based on the analysis. The model proposed in this study includes building a traditional market metaverse that can interact with visitors, certifying visits to traditional markets through digital signage with NFC technology, improving accuracy of fire detection functions using IoT and AI technology, developing smartphone apps for market launch information and event notification, and an e-commerce system. If a smart traditional market platform is implemented and operated based on the smart traditional market platform model presented in this study, it will not only draw interest in the traditional market to MZ generation and foreigners, but also contribute to revitalizing the traditional market in the future.
