  • Nanocrystalline materials have been modeled as a mixture of the crystallite and the grain boundary phases. The mechanical property has been calculated using the rule of mixtures based on the volume fractions. The critical grain size concept suggested by Nieh and Wadsworth and porous material model suggested by Lee and Kim were applied to the calculation. The theoretical results fit very well with the experimental values

아스팔트 혼합물의 내수분손상 향상에 대한 박리방지제의 효과 (Effect of Antistripping Agent on the Enhancement of Resistance to Moisture Damage of Asphalt Mixture)

  • 본 연구에서는 아스팔트 혼합물의 수분 손상을 감소시키기 위한 박리방지제 효과에 대하여 고찰하였다. 아스팔트 박리방지제는 tetraethylene pentamine (TEPA), Triethylenetetramine (TETA), 그리고 bis(hexamethylene)-triamine (BHMT) 각각과 포름알데히드의 축합반응에 의하여 합성하였다. 또한 스테아르산 또는 팔미트산과 금속 수산화물과의 반응을 통하여 금속계 박리방지제를 합성하였다. 박리방지제가 첨가된 아스팔트 혼합물의 기계적 특성은 마샬안정도, 수침잔류안정도 및 피막률에 대하여 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 합성된 박리방지제는 아스팔트 혼합물의 수분손상을 감소시켰다. 특히 BHMT계 및 C/S (Calcium stearate hydroxide) 박리방지제가 가장 높은 수침잔류 안정도 및 피막률을 보였다. 왜냐하면 각각 아민농도의 증가, 그리고 금속계면활성제의 효과적 역할로 인하여 BHMT 박리방지제와 C/S 박리방지제는 아스팔트와 골재 사이의 접착력을 향상시켜 주었기 때문이다.

구리-알루미늄 이종재료의 브레이징 특성 향상에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of Brazeability for Copper-Aluminum Dissimilar Materials Joint)

  • One of the most important considerations to braze Cu-Al dissimilar materials is control of brittle metallic compound which makes it difficult to obtain a sound brazed joint. Nowdays, several attempts were made to control the metallic compound. But effective method for controlling metallic compound was not established. In this point of view, commercially pure aluminum and copper were used as base metal and Al-Si-X and Zn-Al-X alloy systems were developed as filler metal. Brazing was carried out to find optimum conditions for Cu-Al dissimilar joint. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows: 1) The joint brazed by Al-Si-X filler metal showed good brazeability and mechanical properties. The tensile strength of the joint brazed over solidus temperature was more than 90% of Al base metal. Especially, the joint brazed at liquidus temperature was fractured in the Al base metal. 2) Fluorides fluxes(a mixture of potassium fluoro-aluminates) were used to improve surface cleanliness of base metal and wettability of Al-Si-X filler metal. It was melted at the temperature about 1$0^{\circ}C$ lower than that of the filler metal, and made appropriate brazing environment. Therefore, it could be a proper selection as flux.

수피에 의한 중금속 흡착시 경금속의 영향과 중금속간의 흡착 경쟁 (Effect of Light Metal Ions and Competition among Heavy Metal Ions during the Adsorption of Heavy Metal Ions by Bark)

  • When the light metals such as $Ca^{++}$ and $Mg^{++}$ were added to heavy metal solution, the adsorption of heavy metals was increased by 20 to 30% more, but there were no differences between species. $Pb^{++}$ was the most adsorbed metal(99.5%), and the adsorption ratio of $Cd^{++}$ was significantly improved. In addition, when the light metal concentration was increased to 100ppm, the adsoption ratios of all four heavy metals were reached to 92 to 99%, while coniferous barks showed only 85 to 92%. On the mixture of four heavy metals, the adsorbed amount of each metal was significantly reduced, compared with that of one heavy metal, while $Zn^{++}$ showed the adsorption improvement to 95%. On the column experiment, $Pb^{++}$ was almost completely adsorbed in the upper part of column, and the adsorbed amount of $Cu^{++}$ was gradually decreased depending on column depth. However, $Cd^{++}$ and $Zn^{++}$ were not influenced by column height, and constantly adsorbed on various column height. Based on the above results, each heavy metal had different adsorption mechanism.

  • Microcrystallized cellulose xanthate-metal-oxytetracycline complexes (MCX-metal-OTC) were prepared and evaluated as a controlled release system for the antibiotics. Microcrystallized cellulose (MC) was chemically modified to xanthated microcrystallized cellulose (MCX). One-bath method, where MCX was reacted with OTC-metal complexes, afforded greater amount of OTC bound to the polymeric matrix than did two-bath method, where MCX-metal complexes were treated with OTC. The OTC release from MCX-metal-OTC was greatly sustained compared with that from a mixture of MC/metal/OTC. Furthermore, MCX-metal-OTC manifested antibacterial activity, which lasted for 11-18 days. These results suggest that MCX-metal-OTC is a polymeric antibiotics with prolonged antibacterial activity.

실버 나노분말을 이용한 메탈메쉬용 페이스트의 충전 및 와이핑 특성 (Filling and Wiping Properties of Silver Nano Paste in Trench Layer of Metal Mesh Type Transparent Conducting Electrode Films for Touch Screen Panel Application)

  • A metal mesh TCE film is fabricated using a series of processes such as UV imprinting of a transparent trench pattern (with a width of $2-5{\mu}m$) onto a PET film, filling it with silver paste, wiping of the surface, and heat-curing the silver paste. In this work nanosized (40-50 nm) silver particles are synthesized and mixed with submicron (250-300 nm)-sized silver particles to prepare silver paste for the fabrication of metal mesh-type TCE films. The filling of these silver pastes into the patterned trench layer is examined using a specially designed filling machine and the rheological testing of the silver pastes. The wiping of the trench layer surface to remove any residual silver paste or particles is tested with various mixture solvents, and ethyl cellosolve acetate (ECA):DI water = 90:10 wt% is found to give the best result. The silver paste with 40-50 nm Ag:250-300 nm Ag in a 10:90 wt% mixture gives the highest electrical conductance. The metal mesh TCE film obtained with this silver paste in an optimized process exhibits a light transmittance of 90.4% and haze at 1.2%, which is suitable for TSP application.

  • The metal films ink-jetted using the conductive ink based on a mixture of copper and silver nanoparticles were investigated. The porosity and resistivity of films were minimized by adjusting the mixing ratio of Cu and Ag nanoparticles. We demonstrated that the printed tracks with good conductivity could be obtained at sufficiently lower annealing temperatures where plastic substrates could be used.

  • 염산농도가 낮은 용액에서 TBP/MIBK와 다른 중성추출제(Cyanex 923, TOPO, TOP)의 혼합용매에 의한 리튬(I)의 용매추출실험을 수행했다. 0.1 M의 $FeCl_3$가 추출된 TBP/MIBK는 염산농도를 1에서 9 M로 변화시켜 준비하였다. 약한 염산용액에서 리튬(I)의 추출은 유기상에서 $FeCl_3$의 안정도와 관계된다. $FeCl_3$가 추출된 TBP를 진한 염산용액에서 제조하는 경우, 추출시 철의 탈거율이 작아 리튬(I)이 수소이온과의 교환반응에 의해 추출되었다. 혼합용매에서 TBP의 농도도 $FeCl_3$의 안정에 영향을 미쳤다. TBP에 비해 $FeCl_3$는 MIBK로부터 쉽게 탈거되어 리튬(I)을 추출하지 못했다. TBP/MIBK와 혼합용매로 첨가된 중성추출제의 종류는 리튬(I)의 추출과 철의 탈거에 영향을 미치지 않았다.

  • 황산용액에서 Alamine 336에 의한 몰리브덴과 텅스텐의 분리에 대해 수상의 pH와 추출제의 농도를 변화시키 며 조사했다. 수상의 pH가 3에서 5사이의 범위에서 낮은 농도의 아민에 의해 몰리브덴이 선택적으로 추출되었 다. Alamine 336과 양이온 추출제를 혼합하면 두 금속간의 분리인자가 다음 순서와 같이 증가했다 : D2EPHA > PC88A > Decanol > Versatic acid. Alamine 336과 D2EHPA의 혼합용매에서 몰리브덴과 텅스텐의 탈거율은 매 우 낮았으나, Alamine 336과 Decanol의 혼합용매의 경우 $NH_4OH$$NH_4Cl$의 혼합용액으로 두 금속을 모두 탈 거할 수 있었다.

Influence of Alkali Metal Cation Type on Ionization Characteristics of Carbohydrates in ESI-MS

  • Alkali metal salts were introduced to enhance the ionization efficiency of glucose and maltooligoses in electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). A mixture of the same moles of glucose, maltose, maltotriose, maltotetraose, maltopentaose, maltohexaose, and maltoheptaose was used. Salts of lithium, sodium, potassium, and cesium were employed as the cationizing agent. The ionization efficiency varied with the alkali metal cation types as well as the analyte sizes. Ion abundance distribution of the [M+$cation]^+$ ions of the carbohydrates varied with the fragmentor voltage. The maximum ion abundance at low fragmentor voltage was observed at maltose, while the maximum ion abundance at high fragmentor voltage shifted to maltotriose or maltotetraose for Na, K, and Cs. Variation of the ionization efficiency was explained with the hydrated cation size and the binding energy of the analyte and alkali metal cation.
