다중적층 소재 레이저용접 인자별 열영향 해석 (Parametric Analysis of Thermal Effects on Multi Layered Laser Welding)

  • Polymers, polymer compounds, are very moldable at low temperatures and have good strength against weight, and hence, are often used in the interior and exterior materials of cars. Owing to the increasing environmental problems, emission regulations have become stricter, which has increased the use of lightweight polymers as substitutes for metal materials. Therefore, as the use of polymer increases, extensive research is being conducted on the bonding technology of polymers, such as polyurethane and epoxy. However, the increased cost and environmental pollution by adhesives caused by the polymer manufacturing plant depend on the chemical composition or the manufacturer's mix ratio. To compensate for this issue, a laser beam is irradiated through a highly permeable polymer (PC) placed on top of an absorbent polymer (ABS) to transfer the laser output to the ABS polymer and fuse them at the interface. Moreover, enabling laser penetrating bonding by placing a stainless steel wire mesh between the two polymers can achieve improved bonding strength compared to conventional heterogeneous polymer bonding.

Projection Method에 의한 주조 해석용 접촉 요소망 생성 기법 (Contact Element Generation Method for Casting Analysis by using Projection Method)

  • In general, hot metal castings contract and molds expand during the cooling step of a casting process. Therefore, it is important to consider both the casting and mold at the same time in a casting process analysis. For a more accurate analysis that includes the contact characteristics, matching each node of the casting and mold in the contact area is recommended. However, it is very difficult to match the nodes of the casting and the mold when generating elements due to the geometric problem of CAD model data. The present study proposes a mesh generation technique that considers mechanical contact between the casting and the mold in a casting analysis (finite element analysis). The technique focuses on the fact that the mold surrounds the casting. After generating the 3D elements for the casting, the surface elements of the casting in contact with the mold are projected inside the mold to create contact elements that coincide with the contact surface of the casting. It was confirmed that high-quality contact element information and a 3D element net can be automatically generated by the method proposed in this study.

  • The present article focuses on the thermoelastic deformation behavior of inhomogeneous functionally graded metal/ceramic cylindrical shell structure with multiple perforations using 2D finite element approximation. Here, cylindrical shell structure is considered with single (1×1) and multiple (2×2, 3×3 and 4×4) perforations. The temperature-dependent elastic and thermal properties of functionally graded material are evaluated using Voigt's micromechanical material scheme via power-law function. The kinematics of the proposed model is based on the equivalent single-layer first-order shear deformation mid-plane theory with five degrees-of-freedom. Here, 2D isoparametric finite element solutions are obtained using eight-node quadrilateral elements. The mesh refinement of present finite element model is performed to confirm the appropriate number of elements and nodes for the analysis purpose. Subsequently, a comparison test is conducted to demonstrate the accuracy of present results. In later section, numerous numerical illustrations are demonstrated at different set of conditions by varying structural, material and loading parameters and that confirms the significance of various parameters such as power-law index, aspect ratio, thickness ratio, curvature ratio, number of perforations and temperature on the deformation characteristics of functionally graded cylindrical shell structure.

  • This study introduced wastewater treatment method by High Gradient Magnetic Separation (HGMS). HGMS treatment was high efficient method for various industrial wastewaters. The system is currently research state, but we have surveyed commercialize the technology for industry. In rolling plate process, coolant wastewater was recycled by sedimentation and sand filter system. It needs several large reservoirs and long time to remove suspended solid (SS) like metal fines and iron oxide in hot rolling plate making process. If removing rate of suspended solid in rolling coolant wastewater is improved by using HGMS system, the productivity of working process can be increased and the area of reservoir can be reduced. We manufactured high temperature superconducting HGMS system that had a purpose to treatment of coolant wastewater in rolling plate process. We fabricated the prototypes of magnetic matrix filter consisting of stainless steel 430 mesh, which is a core component in the magnetic separation system, In our basic preliminary experiment using HGMS system, it has been clear that the fine paramagnetic particles in the coolant wastewater obtained from rolling plate process of POSCO can be separated with high efficiency.

Thermoelastic eigenfrequency of pre-twisted FG-sandwich straight/curved blades with rotational effect

  • This work focuses on the dynamic analysis of thermal barrier coated straight and curved turbine blades modelled as functionally graded sandwich panel under thermal environment. The pre- twisted straight/curved blade model is considered to be fixed to the hub and, the complete assembly of the hub and blade are assumed to be rotating. The functionally graded sandwich composite blade is comprised of functionally graded face-sheet material and metal alloy core. The constituents' material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent, however, the overall properties are evaluated using Voigt's micromechanical scheme in conjunction with the modified power-law functions. The blade model kinematics is based on the equivalent single-layer shear deformation theory. The equations of motion are derived using the extended Hamilton's principle by including the effect of centrifugal forces, and further solved via 2D- isoparametric finite element approximations. The mesh refinement and validation tests are performed to illustrate the stability and accurateness of the present model. In addition, frequency characteristics of the pre-twisted rotating sandwich blades are computed under thermal environment at various sets of parametric conditions such as twist angles, thickness ratios, aspect ratios, layer thickness ratios, volume fractions, rotational velocity and blade curvatures which can be further useful for designing the blade type structures under turbine operating conditions.

상악 총의치 정중 파절 수리 시 금속선 및 유리섬유의 보강효과 비교 (Comparison of metal wire reinforcement and glass fiber reinforcement in repaired maxillary complete denture)

  • 연구 목적: 상악 레진상 총의치의 정중 파절부에 금속선과 유리섬유 보강재를 사용하여 수리하였을 때 파절 강도 및 파절 양상을 비교해 보고자 하였다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 본 연구에서는 상악 의치의 정중부 파절을 재현한 뒤, 자가중합레진과 보강재를 사용하여 수리하였다. 보강재의 종류에 따라 3개의 군(대조군, 보강재 없음; W 군, 금속선; G 군, 섬유유리)으로 나누었으며, 각군당10개의 시편을 제작하였다. Instron test machine (Instron Co., Canton, MA, USA)으로 5.0 mm/min의 크로스헤드 속도를 부여하여 파절 강도를 구하였으며, 이때 하중은 20 mm의 지름을 가진 구형 하중체를 통해 의치 중심부에 전달되었다. 파절 강도 시험 후 나타난 의치의 파절 양상을 분석하였다. Kruskal-wallis test와 Mann-whitney U test를 이용하여 ${\alpha}=.05$ 수준에서 검정하였다. 결과: 파절 강도는W 군에서 가장 높은 값을 보였고, 대조군과 G 군 사이에서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>.05). 대조군과W군에서는 전후방파절 양상을 주로 보였고, G군에서는 보강재를 따라 파절되는 양상을 주로 보였다. 결론: 본 연구의 한계 내에서, 상악 총의치의 수리 시 유리섬유 보강재를 이용하는 경우 파절 강도가 향상되지 않았으며(P>.05), 유리섬유 보강재를 따라 접착 실패를 보이는 파절 양상이 나타났다.

인체유해 중금속이온의 이온교환 크로마토그라피 (Ion-Exchange Chromatography of Some Toxic Heavy Metal Ions)

  • 본 연구의 결과를 간단히 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가. KCl수용액에서의 Dowex 1-X8, Cl$^{-}$(200-400메쉬)에 의한 Hg(II), Cd(II) 및 Zn(II)의 흡착메카니즘은 고농도의 KCl수용액에서는 모두 음이온의 MCl$_{4}$ $^{2-}$ 착이온 형성에 의한 흡착이며, 저농도에서는 착이온 안정도상수가 큰 Hg(II) 는 역시 착이온 형성에 의한 흡착인데 비해 Cd(II)와 Zn(II)의 경우는 농도에 따라 다르다. 한편 D값의 크기순위는 HCl메디움에서의 MCl$_{4}$$^{2-}$ 착이온의 안정도 상수의 크기순위와 일치한다. 나. KCl-Methonol메디움에서의 Dowex 1-X8, Cl$^{-}$수지에 대한 금속이온의 흡착은 메탄올의 농도증가에 따라 증가되는데, 이것은 메탄올 첨가로 인해 수화현상이 약화되어 착이온 형성이 용이해지기 때문이며 착이온을 잘 형성하는 Hg(II)의 경우는 그 증가율이 크지 않았다. 다. 양이온교환 수지 Dowex50W-X$_{8}$ , $K^{+}$column내에서 KCl-H$_{2}$O 및 KCl-MeOH 용리액에 의한 Zn(II), Cd(II) 및 Hg(II)의 융리메카니즘은 역시 금속이온의 MCl$_{4}$$^{2-}$ 착이온 형성 및 이온쌍 형성의 차이로 용리되는데 그 부피분배 계수의 크기는 Zn(II)>Cd(II)>Hg(II)이며, MeOH의 농도가 증가하면 더욱 빨리 용리되는데 이는 역시 MeOH첨가에 인한 착이온 및 이온쌍 형성이 증대되기 때문이다. 라. MCl(M:K$^{+}$, $Na^{+}$, NH$_{4}$$^{+}$ 및 H$^{+}$) 수용액 메디움에서의 Cd(II), Mg(II) 및 Zn(II)의 Dowex 1-X8, Cl$^{-}$ 수지에 대한 흡착은 역시 어떤 메디움에서도 Cd(II) 흡착이 제일 크며, 다음이 Zn(II) 이고 착이온을 형성않는 Mg(II)이 제일 작았다. 한편 메디움 종류별 D값의 크기순위는 H$^{+}$>K$^{+}$> $Na^{+}$>NH$_{4}$$^{+}$이였다. 메디움의 종류에 따라 D값의 차이가 나는 것은 금속이온의 착이온 형성과 금속이온의 용액내에서의 이온종의 상태와 관련이 있다고 생각된다. 마. MCl(M:K$^{+}$, $Na^{+}$, NH$_{4}$$^{+}$ 및 H$^{+}$)과 MNO$_{3}$ 용리액에 의한 Cd(II), Mg(II) 및 Zn(II)의 용리는 예상한 바와 같이 MCl에서 작은 Dv 값을 갖는데, 이것은 CdCl$_{4}$$^{2-}$ 착이온을 형성하거나 ZnCl$_{4}$$^{2-}$ , ZnCl$_{3}$$^{-}$같은 이온과 MgCl$^{+}$, MgCl$_{2}$같은 이온종을 형성하기 때문인것 같다. 한편 어떠한 용리액에서던지 NH$_{4}$$^{+}$의 경우 Dv값이 제일 작았다. 바. 본 연구의 목적중의 하나인 인체유해 중금속이온인 Hg(II), Cd(II)등이 NaCl같은 염화물이 함유된 시료용액에 공해이온으로 존재할 경우 흡착에 의한 제거가 가능하다. 한편 이같은 중금속이온의 흡착실험은 특히 해수중의 금속이온의 회수연구에도 그 활용이 가능하리라고 믿는다.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 소나무 수피(樹皮)와 신갈나무 수피(樹皮)가 중금속(重金屬)이온들을 흡착(吸着)하는데 영향(影響)하는 물리적(物理的)${\cdot}$화학적(化學的) 인자(因子)를 구명(究明)하기 위한 목적(目的)으로 수행(遂行)되었다, 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서 얻은 결과(硏究)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 두 수종(樹種) 공(共)히 수피립자(樹皮粒子)가 작을수록 흡착율(吸着率)이 증가(增加)한다. 동일(同一)한 mesh에서 $Fe^{++}$$Ni^{++}$의 흡착(吸着)은 신갈나무 수피(樹皮)가 량호(良好)하였다. 2. 두 수종(樹種) 공(共)히 미처리수피(未處理樹皮)의 흡착효과(吸着效果)가 HCHO처리수피(處理樹皮)보다 동일(同一)하거나, 약(約) 5% 높게 나타났다. 그러나, 수피(樹皮)에서 류출(流出)되는 색(色)의 농도(濃度)가 소나무 수피(樹皮)는 5.8배(培), 신갈나무 수피(樹皮)는 11.8배(培) 정도 미처리수피(未處理樹皮)의 여과수(濾過水)가 높았다. 3. $Fe^{++}$$Ni^{++}$은 30분(分)동안 반응(反應)할 때 최대흡착(最大吸着)을 나타내며, 그 이상(以上) 반응(反應)시켜도 흡착량(吸着量)의 변화(變化)는 거의 없었다. 4. 중김속(重金屬) 용액(溶液)의 농도(濃度)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 총흡착량(總吸着量)은 증가(增加)하나, 흡착율(吸着率)은 감소(減少)한다. 5. $Fe^{++}$은 수피(樹皮)와 반응(反應)한 후(後)의 여과액의 pH가 $4{\sim}5$, $Ni^{++}$은 pH $3.6{\sim}4.0$에서 최대흡착(最大吸着)을 나타냈다. 6. 수종(樹種)과 중금속(重金屬)에 관계(關係)없이 수피량(樹皮量)이 많을수록 높은 흡착율(吸着率)을 나타내고 있다. 그러나 단위(單位)무게당(當) 흡착량(吸着量)은 수피(樹皮) 2g 사용(使用)시가 가장 경제적(經濟的)이며 $Fe^{++}$는 신갈나무에서 36mg/1g, 소나무에서 21mg/g이 흡착(吸着)되었으며, $Ni^{++}$은 9mg/1g과 7mg/1g이 각각(各各) 흡착(吸着)되었다.

사파이어 웨이퍼의 ELID 랩핑 가공 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of ELID Lapping for Sapphire Wafer Material)

  • This study has been focused on application of ELID lapping process for mirror-surface machining of sapphire wafer. Sapphire wafer is a superior material with optic properties of high performance as light transmission, thermal conductivity, hardness and so on. High effective surface machining technology is necessary to use sapphire as various usages. The interval ELID lapping process has been set up for lapping of the sapphire material. According to the ELID lapping experimental results, it shows that 12.5 kg of load for lapping is most pertinent to ELID lapping. the surface of sapphire can be eliminated by metal bonded wheel with micron abrasives and the surface roughness of 60 nmRa can be gotten using grinding wheel of 2,000 mesh in 4.5 um, depth of cut. In this study, the chemical experiments after ELID grinding also has been conducted to check chemical reaction between workpiece and grinding wheel on ELID grinding process. It shows that the chemical reaction has not happened as the results of the chemical experiments.

Performance of carbon fiber added to anodes of conductive cement-graphite pastes used in electrochemical chloride extraction in concretes

  • Pollution of chloride ion-reinforced concrete can trigger active corrosion processes that reduce the useful life of structures. Multifunctional materials used as a counter-electrode by electrochemical techniques have been used to rehabilitate contaminated concrete. Cement-based pastes added to carbonaceous material, fibers or dust, have been used as an anode in the non-destructive Electrochemical Chloride Extraction (ECE) technique. We studied the performance of the addition of Carbon Fiber (CF) in a cement-graphite powder base paste used as an anode in ECE of concretes contaminated with chlorides from the preparation of the mixture. The experimental parameters were: 2.3% of free chlorides, 21 days of ECE application, a Carbon Fiber Volume Fraction (CFVF) of 0.1, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9%, a lithium borate alkaline electrolyte, a current density of $4.0A/m^2$ and a cement/graphite ratio of 1.0 for the paste. The efficiency of the ECE in the traditional technique using metal mesh as an anode was 77.6% and for CFVF of 0.9% it was 90.4%, with a tendency to increase to higher percentages of the CFVF in the conductive cement-graphite paste, keeping the pH stable and achieving a homogeneous ECE in the mass of the concrete contaminated with chlorides.
