LED와 메탈핼라이드 집어등을 겸용한 오징어채낚기 어선의 조업 성능 (Operating performance of squid jigging vessel using the LED and metal halide fishing lamp combination)

  • Fishing efficiency of the squid jigging vessel using the LED and metal halide fishing lamp combination was analyzed to reduce the cost for fishing operation utilizing the fishing light system for high degree of efficiency in the squid jigging fishery (one of the representative coastal and offshore fisheries in Korea). This study aims to improve the nature of existing LED lamps and to develop fan-shaped LED lights having 180W of power and ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ angle of light intensity distribution. The marine experiment for making a comparison of their fishing efficiency was tested by a 9.77 tons fishing vessel from Oct. through Dec. 2012. As a result, experimental fishing vessel showed slightly higher fishing efficiency than the average of metal halide lamp-equipped vessel and 20% energy savings. This means that the combination of LED and metal halide lamps would provide an efficient way to lower energy consumption while maintaining fishing efficiency.

  • High intensity metal halide discharge lamp performance, specifically the generated luminous flux and light color content, depends critically on the arc tube design. Factors influencing the design and consequent lamp efficacy include : lamp size, geometry, arc tube composition, fill chemistry, electrode design and excitation modes. Shaping of Polycrystalline Alumina(PCA) can be realized by conventional ceramic processes. Several processes are applied nowadays. Well-known in the ceramic high pressure field for decades are the pressing and the extrusion method. Newly developed slurry and precious forming technologies give the one-body seamless tubes, which improve thickness uniformity and lighting performance. Now, we reported some optical properties with different arc tube structures of ceramic metal halide lamps.

원양 오징어채낚기 집어등 불빛의 수중 투과 특성 (Transmittance properties of fishing lamp in distant-water squid jigging vessel)

  • The transmittance properties of fishing lamp of the squid jigging vessel was investigated during nighttime operations in the Northwest Pacific on 21 and 29 September 2005. The metal halide lamps of white color($2.0kW{\times}168$) in the air and metal halide lamp of white color($10.0kW{\times}1$) in the underwater were used as a fishing lamp for gathering squids. The relative irradiance of metal halide lamp in the air showed peak in 850nm of wave length. The relationship between underwater illuminance(Y) and water depth(X) of metal halide lamp light in the observation areas is represented, $Y=84.137e^{-0.1105X},\;R^2=0.9974$. The distribution of underwater illuminance of measure points St. 1-5 showed low value of 0.11x in 80m depth.

LED램프와 메탈램프가 도로조명환경에 미치는 특성 비교평가 (Effects of LED Lamps for Replacement of Metal Halide Lamp in Roadway Lighting Environment)

  • The problems of light pollution first became an issue in the 1970s when astronomers identified the degradation of the night sky due to the increase in lighting associated with development and growth. As more impacts to the environment by lighting have been identified, many attempts have been made for reducing light pollutions. To prevent light pollution and increase energy efficiency, Seoul Metropolitan Government(SMG) replaced metal halide road lighting to LED luminaire in four arterial highway in Seoul. The present study compared the lighting characteristics of metal halide and LED luminaire in terms of Korea Standard for road lighting(KS A 3701) and BUG rating from Illuminating Engineering Society of North America(IESNA). The results showed that LED luminaire increased road surface luminance up to 2 times in average compared to the metal halide environment. Also, LED luminaire reduced the glare value by 2 times and luminous flux over 50% than the metal halide luminaire. In comparison with the BUG ratings, LED luminaire rated 1 degree lower for the backlight ratings and 3-4 degrees lower for the uplight ratings. The measured values testified that the LED luminaire is effective for roadway lighting and light pollution reduction.

  • Recently, the demand of ceramic metal halide lamp has been expanded. Therefore, the lamp with high efficiency and long lifetime are increasing and the evaluation of reliability is needed. In this paper, the degradation phenomena of ceramic metal halide lamp was studied. The lamp was tested for 3000 on/off cycles with each cycle having a duration of 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off based on the accelerated aging experiment based on "Reliability Standards RS C 0085". As result, the corrosion of arc tube and leak was appeared from reaction between inner wall of PCA and chemical elements, and distortion of electrode was resulted from difference of thermal expansion between arc tube of PCA and electrode. Also, the efficiency of lamp was decreased by the change of inner pressure, operation temperature, and driving voltage from wall blackening.

  • We described the operating principles of two different type of igniters for lightning of Ceramic Metal Halide Lamp(CMHL) and also provide some useful comparisons. One is for magnetic ballast, the other one is for electronic ballast which operates lamp by low-frequency square-waveform. Ignition voltage of lamp depends on the structure of igniter, such as the length and electrical characteristics of cable, which make troubles for ignition in real sites. Therefore, we measured and analyzed ignition voltages from igniters which are used in magnetic and electronic ballast in cables at a distance of 5 meters between a lamp and a igniter to suggests an applicable solution in real sites.

  • Ceramic metal halide lamps have been widely used due to long lifetime, high luminous efficiency and good colour rendering. 35[W] ceramic metal halide lamps has very different characteristics between ignition state and steady state. The developed electronic ballast is satisfied to both ignition state and steady state characteristics by using a micro-controller. The proposed electronic ballast is consists of EMI filter, Full-wave rectifier, Active PFC, DBI(Dual Buck Inverter), Igniter and control circuit. It enables to supply both low-frequency rectangular wave voltage and current to the lamp by using DBI(Dual Bcuk Inverter) structure.

  • In this study, we used underwater acoustics to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of largehead hairtail (Trichiurus leptueus) based on the luminous thronging of metal halide fishing lamps and induction fishing lamps. As a result, the illuminating power was approximately 1.3 times higher using the metal halide fishing lamp whereas the density of hairtals by distance was approximately 1.9 times higher using the induction fishing lamp. Regarding water depth distribution, hairtails were detected depths of 25-30 m during August and at all water depths in November as assessed using fishing lamps.

  • Ceramic metal halide lamps have been widely used due to long lifetime, high luminous efficiency and good colour rendering. In this paper, we developed dimming control system of electronic ballast for 70W ceramic metal halide lamp by using 1-10V interface. The proposed electronic ballast is consists of EMI filter, Full-wave rectifier, Active PFC, DBI(Dual Buck Inverter), Igniter and control circuit.It enables to supply both low-frequency rectangular wave voltage and current to the lamp by using DBI(Dual Bcuk Inverter) structure. By using 1-10V interface, the system that able to dimming the lamp is demonstrated by P-spice simulation and experimental results.

  • 본 연구는 프리지아 '이본느'를 가지고 매일 오후 5시에서 8시까지 150일 동안 LED(청색, 녹색, 적색, 청색:녹색:적색 혼합)광과 백열등, 메탈할라이드등으로 보광을 함으로써, 꽃눈분화 이후부터 개화가 완전히 종료될 때까지 광질에 따른 장일처리가 프리지아의 생육 및 개화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 수행되었다. 엽분열기부터 화뢰형성기까지 초장은 광원별 장일처리에 의해 큰 변화는 없었고 엽수는 메탈할라이드등 처리에서 감소하는 경향이었으나 화뢰 발달기 때 엽 내 엽록소 함량은 메탈할라이드등에서 가장 높았다. LED 청색광과 녹색광에서 개화기가 빨랐는데 특히 녹색광 처리에서 가장 빨라 무처리와 메탈할라이드등에 비해 6-8일 정도 단축되었다. 포장 내 개화기간은 LED 적색광에서 가장 짧아 일시 수확에는 효과적이었다. 메탈할라이드 등에서 절화중, 소화의 길이와 폭 등 절화특성이 우수하였다. 구근의 특성을 조사한 결과 LED 적색광에서는 구폭과 구중이, 백열등 처리에서는 구고와 구중이 감소하였고, 구근 내 전분함량은 모든 시험구 사이에 특별한 차이가 없었다. 결과적으로 개화촉진은 LED 녹색등에서 효과적이었고 개화품질은 메탈할라이드등 처리에서 우수하였다.
