The Dublin Core element set has been developed over the past years as an open, consensus-building metadata from many user communities. Wider adoption in many countries made this metadata a major resource discovery standard on the internet. The version 1.1 of the Dublin Core element set was adopted as CEN Workshop Agreement 13874 in Europe, and also ratified under the auspices of the National Information Standards Organization in US as ANSI Standard Z39.85. This report summarizes the standardization activities that have taken place in the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative for the past years.

This study examines and proposes standardization approaches to address the heterogeneous issues of metadata in drone imagery within the agricultural sector. Image metadata comes in various formats depending on different camera manufacturers, with most utilizing EXIF and XMP. The metadata of cameras used in fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms, along with the metadata requirements in image alignment software, were analyzed for sensors like DJI XT2, MicaSense RedEdge-M, and Sentera Double4K. In the agricultural domain, multispectral imagery is crucial for vegetation analysis, making the provision of such imagery essential. Based on Pix4D SW, a comparative analysis of metadata attributes was performed, and necessary elements were compiled and presented as a proposed standardization (draft) in the form of tag information.

본 논문에서는 ISO/IEC 11179에 따라 산업기술정보 메타데이터 표준안을 작성하고, 메타데이터를 하나의 시스템에서 온라인으로 표준화할 수 있는 산업기술정보 메타데이터 레지스트리(IMR)를 개발하였다. 메타데이터 표준안 개발의 경우, 국내에서는 처음으로 ISO/IEC 11179 표준에 따라서 데이터 요소를 정의하여, 4개의 메타데이터 표준안을 개발하였다. 산업기술정보 메타데이터 레지스트리는 4개의 분야별 MDR로 구성되도록 구축하였다. 그에 따라 통합관리자 모듈과 분야별 관리자 모듈이 함께 개발되었다. 메타데이터 표준화 조직이 시스템을 통해 데이터 요소의 등록과 투표과정을 수행하여 새로운 데이터 요소를 메타데이터 레지스트리에 제공할 수 있다. 이용자는 산업기술정보 메타데이터 레지스트리를 분야별로 검색하여, 자신들의 데이터베이스를 구성할 수 있으며, 다양한 데이터베이스 스크립트를 내려받을 수 있다. 시스템 개발은 ORACLE 데이터베이스를 기반으로 Java JSP를 이용하여 수행하였다.

In March 2007, Korea's Ministry of Construction & Transportation (MOCT) established "Guidelines on the Computerization and Use of Geotechnical Investigation Results," which took effect as official instructions. The 2007 Geotechnical Information DB Construction Project is underway as a model project for a stable geotechnical information distribution system based on the MOCT guidelines, accompanied by user education on the geotechnical data distribution system. This study introduces a geotechnical data entry system characterized by the standardization of the geotechnical investigation form, the standardization of metadata for creating the geotechnical data to be distributed, and the creation of borehole space data based on the world geodetic system according to the changes in the national coordinate system, to define a unified DB structure and the items for the geotechnical data entry system and to computerize the field geotechnical investigation results using the MOCT guidelines. In addition, the present operating status of the geotechnical data entry system and entry data processing statistics are introduced through an analysis of the model project, and the problems of the project are analyzed to suggest improvements. Education on, and the implementation of, the model project for the geotechnical data entry system, which was developed via the standardization of the geotechnical investigation results form and the metadata for institutions showed that most users can use the system easily. There were problems, however, including those related to the complexity of metadata creation, partial errors in moving to the borehole data window, partial recognition errors in the installation program for different computer operating systems, etc. Especially, the individual standard form usage and the specificity of the person who enters the geotechnical information for the Korea National Housing Corporation, among the institutions under MOCT, required partial improvement of the geotechnical data entry system. The problems surfaced from this study will be promptly addressed in the operation and management of the geotechnical data DB center in 2008.

데이터 품질 관리는 최근 중요한 이슈로 자리잡았다. 데이터베이스의 메타데이터 표준화는 데이터 품질관리 방안 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 일관된 메타데이터 관리를 위하여 표준단어사전 관리를 지원하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 해당 알고리즘은 웹 사전 크롤링을 통해 데이터베이스 메타데이터의 동의어 관리 자동화를 지원한다. 또한 웹 사전 크롤링 과정에서 생길 수 있는 동음이의어 판별 이슈를 해결하여 데이터의 정확도를 향상시킨다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 알고리즘은 기존의 수동적 관리에 비해 메타데이터 데이터 품질의 신뢰도를 높인다. 또한 이음동의어 데이터 등록 및 관리에 소비되는 시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 새로운 데이터 표준화 부분 자동화 모델에 대한 추가 연구는 향후 데이터 표준화 프로세스에서 자동화 가능한 작업을 파악하여 진행되어야 한다.

The metadata for urban meteorological observation is standardized through comparison with those established at the World Meteorological Organization and the Korea Meteorological Administration to understand the surrounding environment around the sites exactly and maintain the networks and sites efficiently. It categorizes into metadata for an observational network and observational sites. The latter is again divided into the metadata for station general information, local scale information, micro scale information, and visual information in order to explain urban environment in detail. The metadata also contains the static information such as urban structure, surface cover, metabolism, communication, building density, roof type, moisture/heat sources, and traffic as well as the update information on the environment change, maintenance, replacement, and/or calibration of sensors. The standardized metadata for urban meteorological observation is applied to the Weather Information Service Engine (WISE) integrated meteorological sensor network and sites installed at Incheon area. It will be very useful for site manager as well as researchers in fields of urban meteorology, radiation, surface energy balance, anthropogenic heat, turbulence, heat storage, and boundary layer processes.

본 연구는 국내의 수치지도의 효율적인 관리와 공급을 위하여 외부메타데이터 설계를 목적으로 수행되었다. 보다 효율적이고 세계표준에 부합하는 메타데이터의 표준안을 제작하기 위하여 국외의 표준화 관련 기구의 동향 분석과 함께 선진국의 메타데이터 구축사례를 분석하였으며 이와 함께 국내의 구축 사례를 조사하였다. 사용자의 요구를 최대한 수용하기 위하여 대표적인 사용자 기관인 국립지리원의 메타데이터 관련 자료를 최대한 수집하여 실무자의 의견을 바탕으로 항목별로 분류를 하였으며, 데이터의 유형별 중요도를 부과하였다. 이러한 기존 자료의 분석을 바탕으로 외부메타데이터의 설계안을 도출하였으며 ISO의 표준안을 최대한 수용하는 표준메타데이터를 제시하였다. 제시된 표준안은 향후 ISO와 CEN 등 국제 표준화 관련 기구의 동향을 지속적으로 갱신되어야 한다.

본 연구에서는 게임콘텐츠의 저작권 보호, 유통 및 관리의 효율화를 제공해 게임산업을 활성화하는데 중요한 역할을 하는 게임 UCI 식별 메타데이터를 설계하였다. 설계 방법은 호환성을 위하여 국제표준인 메타데이터 매핑절차를 따랐다. 따라서 기존 9개의 요소로 구성되어 있는 UCI 메타데이터에 게임의 특성을 반영하여 3개 요소는 재정의하고, date, patch date, grade의 3개 요소는 추가하였다. 이렇게 설계된 게임 UCI 식별 메타데이터는 총 12개의 요소로 구성된다. 이 결과를 전문가 인터뷰와 일반 이용자 설문을 통해 검증하였다. 향후 본 연구의 결과를 게임 UCI 식별 메타데이터 관리 시스템으로 구축하여 여러 기관들이 활용할 수 있도록 발전시키고자 한다.

국내 대통령기록물의 연구 및 활용, 서비스를 위해서는 다양한 대통령기록물의 유형과 포맷에 대한 통합 메타데이터 설계 및 운영이 필요하며, 상이한 메타데이터 구조를 가지고 있는 대통령기록관과 민간 대통령도서관 기념관의 메타데이터 표준화가 요구된다. 이에 이 연구에서는 국내 대통령기록물의 메타데이터 통합 운영을 위하여 통합 메타데이터 설계 원칙과 메타데이터 속성 및 관계를 제안하였다. 메타데이터 설계 원칙은 '대통령기록물 간의 관계 설정 및 설계', '다중 개체 모형을 적용한 대통령기록물 각 개체별 설계', '다양한 유형의 대통령기록물을 기술할 수 있도록 설계', '소장기관의 업무 전주기를 반영한 메타데이터 설계', '하이브리드형 장기보존 메타데이터 설계'이다. 메타데이터 요소는 모든 유형의 대통령기록물들이 공통적으로 지니고 있는 공통속성 요소, 특정 대통령기록물만이 갖는 고유속성 요소, 대통령기록물 생산에 관련된 타 기록물간의 연관 및 참조정보 요소이다.

소셜 네트워크 서비스의 부각과 다매체 환경에서의 사용자 참여 확대와 같은 최근 IT 기술 환경의 변화로 이러닝 시스템 역시 다양한 환경에서 변화하고 있다. 메타데이터는 시스템 간의 상호운용성을 위한 데이터의 규약이며, 이러닝 메타데이터는 국내외 기판에 의해 표준화가 이루어지고 있으나, 주변 환경의 다양한 변화를 고려하는 메타데이터 요소의 제안이 요구되는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 지능형 학습 시스템을 위한 메타데이터 모형을 분석 및 설계하는 방법을 연구 제안하고, 표준 메타데이터인 KEM 3.0을 기반으로 향후 필요할 것으로 예상되는 메타데이터 요소의 요구사항을 도출하였다. 도출된 요구사항을 바탕으로 요구사항을 중요도에 따라 분류할 수 있는 카노 모형에 따라 3-Layer 모델로 설계하였다. 향후 본 논문의 모형 설계를 기반으로 이러닝 기술 환경의 변화를 반영한 지능형 학습 시스템을 개발하여 국제적 표준화로 발전되기를 기대한다.
