아동의 이해점검 능력에 관한 연구 : 점검기준의 사용과 작업기억 용량과의 관계에서 (A Study of Children's Comprehension Monitoring Ability: Monitoring Standards Preference and Relationship with Working Memory Capacity)

  • This study was designed to examine children's comprehension monitoring ability. Specifically the purpose of this study was to investigate (1) children's monitoring standards preference according to monitoring ability, and (2) the relationships between comprehension monitoring and working memory capacity. The subjects were 60 children, 30 each in 2nd and 4th grades. To measure comprehension monitoring ability, 7 stories including erroneous sentences were used. Working memory capacity was measured by the Reading Span Test (Lee, 1995). Results showed that (1) the high and low monitoring children were not different in monitoring standard preference, and (2) comprehension monitoring ability was significantly and positively related to working memory capacity.

A Psychological Model Applied to Mathematical Problem Solving

  • Students' approaches to mathematical problem solving vary greatly with each other. The main objective of the current study was to compare students' performance with different thinking styles (divergent vs. convergent) and working memory capacity upon mathematical problem solving. A sample of 150 high school girls, ages 15 to 16, was studied based on Hudson's test and Digit Span Backwards test as well as a math exam. The results indicated that the effect of thinking styles and working memory on students' performance in problem solving was significant. Moreover, students with divergent thinking style and high working memory capacity showed higher performance than ones with convergent thinking style. The implications of these results on math teaching and problem solving emphasizes that cognitive predictor variable (Convergent/Divergent) and working memory, in particular could be challenging and a rather distinctive factor for students.

조직 메모리 제공과 개인-직무, 개인-조직 적합성이 조직성과에 미치는 영향 : 흡수역량을 매개로 (The Effect of Organizational Memory Affordance and Person-Job, Person-Organization Fit on Organizational Performances : Mediating Absorption Capacity)

  • 4차 산업 혁명 시대에는 데이터의 효율적인 활용 수준이 그 기업의 성과에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 조직 메모리 제공이 개인-직무 적합성과 개인-조직 적합성의 수준에 따라 조직성과에 미치는 영향을 흡수역량이 매개로 했을 때의 효과를 실증 분석하였다. 대기업, 중견기업, 중소기업 재직자 317명을 대상으로 설문데이터를 분석한 결과, 조직 메모리 제공이 충분한 조직은 개인-직무 및 개인-조직 적합성 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 흡수역량도 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 조직 메모리 제공은 개인-조직 적합성을 매개할 '때 흡수역량에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 개인-직무 적합성과 개인-조직 적합성은 조직성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치나, 흡수역량을 매개할 경우는 개인-조직 적합만이 긍정적인 영향 관계가 나타났다. 본 연구는 흡수역량의 선행 요인으로 조직 IT 구축환경과 구성원들의 조직과 직무에 대한 인식을 종합적으로 분석하고, 조직성과에 미치는 영향을 동시에 실증함으로써 연구의 의의가 있다.

한국인 영어 학습자의 작업 기억 용량과 영어 어휘 수준 및 듣기 능력 관계 연구 (A Relationship Between Korean EFL Learners' Working Memory Capacity, English Vocabulary Size, and Listening Competence)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국어 EFL 학습자의 작업 기억과 영어 어휘 및 듣기 능력의 관계를 조사하는 것이다. 한국의 한 대학교에 재학 중인 30명의 영어 교육 전공자들이 본 연구에 참여했다. 참가자의 작업 용량을 측정하기 위해 거꾸로 숫자 폭 과업과 작업 폭 과업을 사용하였으며, 이들의 영어 어휘 수준 및 듣기 능력은 '듣기 어휘 수준 시험(LVLT)'과 '미시건 영어 시험(MET)'을 각각 사용하여 측정하였다. 데이터 분석 결과, 대학생 참가자들의 작업 기억 저장 용량은 매우 다양한 것으로 나타났으며, 작업 기억 저장 용량이 클수록 영어 입력 정보를 더 잘 처리하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 상대적으로 작은 규모의 동질적인 연구 참가자들의 특성으로 인해 작업 기억 용량, 영어 어휘 수준, 그리고 영어 듣기 능력 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계는 발견되지 않았다.

고온용 Nitinol 형상기억합금의 열적/동역학적 특성평가 (Thermo-dynamic Characteristics Of High Temperature Nitinol Shape Memory Alloy)

  • In the resent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. But, no detailed researches between the thermo-dynamic property in Nitinol alloy have been done yet. In this study, the thermal property of high temperature Nitinol shape memory alloy were evaluated using differential scanning calorimeter(DSC). The structure property was investigated using X-ray diffraction(XRD). A dynamic mechanical analyzer(DMA) with three point bending mode was used to study storage and loss modulus of shape memory alloy according to the thirteen frequencies in the temperature range between 30 and $200^{\circ}C$. The effects of the temperature heating/cooling rate, the frequency on the damping capacity have been systematically investigated. Such a frequency and temperature changes also influenced significantly to the damping behavior of the shape memory alloy. It was also found that Nitinol exhibited high damping capacity during phase transformation.

  • Application of flash memory in mobile and ubiquitous related devices is rapidly being increased due to its low price and high performance. In addition, some notebook computers currently come out into market with a SSD(Solid State Disk) instead of hard-drive based storage system. Regarding this trend, applications need to increase the storage capacity using multiple flash memory chips for larger capacity sooner or later. Flash memory based storage subsystem should resolve the performance bottleneck for writing in perspective of speed and lifetime according to its physical property. In order to make flash memory storage work with tangible performance, reclaiming of invalid regions needs to be controlled in a particular manner to decrease the number of erasures and to distribute the erasures uniformly over the whole memory space as much as possible. In this paper, we study the performance of flash memory recycling algorithms and demonstrate that the proposed algorithm shows acceptable performance for flash memory storage with multiple chips. The proposed cleaning method partitions the memory space into candidate memory regions, to be reclaimed as free, by utilizing threshold values. The proposed algorithm handles the storage system in multi-layered style. The impact of the proposed policies is evaluated through a number of experiments.

CXL 메모리 및 활용 소프트웨어 기술 동향 (Technology Trends in CXL Memory and Utilization Software )

  • Artificial intelligence relies on data-driven analysis, and the data processing performance strongly depends on factors such as memory capacity, bandwidth, and latency. Fast and large-capacity memory can be achieved by composing numerous high-performance memory units connected via high-performance interconnects, such as Compute Express Link (CXL). CXL is designed to enable efficient communication between central processing units, memory, accelerators, storage, and other computing resources. By adopting CXL, a composable computing architecture can be implemented, enabling flexible server resource configuration using a pool of computing resources. Thus, manufacturers are actively developing hardware and software solutions to support CXL. We present a survey of the latest software for CXL memory utilization and the most recent CXL memory emulation software. The former supports efficient use of CXL memory, and the latter offers a development environment that allows developers to optimize their software for the hardware architecture before commercial release of CXL memory devices. Furthermore, we review key technologies for improving the performance of both the CXL memory pool and CXL-based composable computing architecture along with various use cases.

Memory-Efficient Hypercube Key Establishment Scheme for Micro-Sensor Networks

  • A micro-sensor network is comprised of a large number of small sensors with limited memory capacity. Current key-establishment schemes for symmetric encryption require too much memory for micro-sensor networks on a large scale. In this paper, we propose a memory-efficient hypercube key establishment scheme that only requires logarithmic memory overhead.

  • With the advent of the big data era, the memory capacity required for computing systems is rapidly increasing, especially in High Performance Computing systems. However, the number of DRAMs that can be used in a computing node is limited by the structural limitations of the hardware (for example, CPU specifications). Memory expansion technology has attracted attention as a means of overcoming this limitation. This technology expands the memory capacity by leveraging the external memory connected to the host system through hardware interface such as PCIe and CCIX. In this paper, we present an overview and describe the development trends of the memory expansion technology. We also provide detailed descriptions and use cases of the CCIX that provides higher bandwidth and lower latency than cases of the PCIe.

  • As semiconductor memory becomes cheaper, the memory capacity of computer system is increasing. Therefore computer system has sufficient memory for a plentiful spatial data. With emerging spatial application required high performance, this paper presents a GIS database system in main memory. Memory residence can provide both functionality and performance for a database management system. This paper describes design of DBMS for storing, querying, managing and analyzing for spatial and non-spatial data in main-memory. This memory resident GIS DBMS supports SQL for spatial query, spatial data model, spatial index and interface for GIS tool or applications.
