중온 히트파이프에서 작동유체 선정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Working Fluid Selection of Medium Temperature Heat Pipe)

  • This paper is concerned with the selection of proper working fluids for medium temperature range heat pipe. The heat pipe which is made of SUS 316L has a total length of 700 mm as well as an outside diameter of 27.2 mm and a thickness of 2.1 mm respectively. Working fluids used in this study were Naphthalene, Biphenyl and Dowtherm A. Their charge amounts were about 40% of the inside volume of evaporator section. Experimental results shows that the Dowtherm A is good for $200^{\circ}C{\sim}300^{\circ}C$temperature range, while the Naphthalene is proper for $300^{\circ}C{\sim}430^{\circ}C$. In the case of the Naphthalene heat pipe, the heat transfer rate reaches 1500 W along with a vapor temperature of $430^{\circ}C$.

Roof failure of shallow tunnel based on simplified stochastic medium theory

  • The failure mechanism of tunnel roof is investigated with upper bound theorem of limit analysis. The stochastic settlement and nonlinear failure criterion are considered in the present analysis. For the collapse of tunnel roof, the surface settlement is estimated by the simplified stochastic medium theory. The failure curve expressions of collapse blocks in homogeneous and in layered soils are derived, and the effects of material parameters on the potential range of failure mechanisms are discussed. The results show that the material parameters of initial cohesion, nonlinear coefficient and unit weight have significant influences on the potential range of collapse block in homogeneous media. The proportion of collapse block increases as the initial cohesion increases, while decreases as the nonlinear coefficient and the unit weight increase. The ground surface settlement increases with the tunnel radius increasing, while the possible collapse proportion decreases with increase of the tunnel radius. In layered stratum, the study is investigated to analyze the effects of material parameters of different layered media on the proportion of possible collapse block.

빔 형성을 적용한 2.4GHz 대역 중장거리 영상 전송 무선 기술 (Medium to Long Range Wireless Video Transmission Scheme in 2.4GHz Band with Beamforming)

  • 본 논문에서는 2.4GHz 대역의 무선 환경에서 수 십 km 이상의 중장거리 통신이 가능하도록 다중 안테나를 활용한 빔 형성(Beam-forming) 방식 기반의 영상신호 전송 방식을 제안한다. 제안한 방식을 적용하여 3.6km 옥외 전송거리에서 $4{\times}5dBi$의 안테나 사용과 16dBm의 송신파워를 통해 -77dBm의 수신 전계 강도와 약 32Mbps의 데이터 전송속도가 달성됨을 확인한다. 또한, 20km 장거리 옥외 전송에서도 $4{\times}5dBi$ 무지향성 안테나를 사용하여 10~12Mbps의 전송률이 달성됨을 확인한다.

  • The dynamic recrystallization (DRX) of medium carbon steels (SCM 440 and POSMA45) was studied with torsion test in the temperature range of $900-1100^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate range of $5.0x10^{-2}\;-\;5.0x10^0/sec$. To establish the quantitative equations for DRX, the evolution of flow stress curve with strain was analyzed. The critical strain (${\varepsilon}_c$) and strain for maximum softening rate ( ${\varepsilon}^{*}$) could be confirmed by the analysis of work hardening rate ($d{\sigma}/d{\varepsilon}\;=\; \theta$). The volume fraction of dynamic recrystallization ($X_{DRX}$) as a function of processing variables, such as strain rate ( $\dot{\varepsilon}$ ), temperature (T), and strain ( $\varepsilon$ ) were established using the ${\varepsilon}_c$ and ${\varepsilon}^{*}$. For the exact prediction, the ${\varepsilon}_c$, ${\varepsilon}^{*}$ and Avrami' exponent (m') were quantitatively expressed by dimensionless parameter, Z/A respectively. The transformation-effective strain-temperature curve for DRX could be composed. It was found that the calculated results were agreed with the experimental data for the steels at any deformation conditions.

중탄소 고망간강의 합금원소와 열처리 조건이 미세조직과 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Alloying Elements and Heat Treatment on the Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Medium Carbon High Manganese Steels)

  • Mechanical properties and microstructures of medium carbon high manganese steels were investigated in terms of alloying elements such as Mn, C contents, and heat treatment condition. Austenite volume fraction was increased with increasing Mn content, leading to hardness decrease in the range of Mn content of above 10% after quenching and tempering. Such results are also supported by microstructural analysis and X-ray diffraction in that the increase in mangaese content results in the increase in austenite fraction. Studies on tempering condition indicated that not only hardness and tensile strength but also charpy impact values were reduced as tempering temperature were raised in the range of $250^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$. It was also observed that fracture mode was changed from dimple to intergranular fracture. Such results are thought to be due to very fine carbide precipitation or impurity segreagation at grain boundaries as tempering temperature goes up. Heat treatment of Fe-5Mn-2Si-1Al-0.4C can be optimized by austenitizing at $850^{\circ}C$, air cooling and tempering at $250^{\circ}C$, resulting in 1950 MPa in Tensile strength, 17% in elongation and 23.3 $J/cm^2$ in charpy impact energy with high work hardening characteristics.

밀가루와 튀김온도가 개성주악의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of flour and frying temperature on quality of Gaeseong-Juak(doughnut of waxy rice))

  • This study was carried out to standardize the recipe of Gaeseong-Juak. The formation and quality of the Juak were investigated under different treatment conditions. 1. The high ratio of medium flour(20%) in the flour mixture resulted in poor swelling. 2. The flour mixture with 10% strong flour showed higher volume of Gaeseong-Juak compared with the 10% mixture of medium flour, but the score of sensory evaluation was low. 3. The addition of Makkoli in the dough did not give significant difference in the formation of Juak, but the sensory score was low. 4. The deep-frying temperature in the range of 150$\^{C}$ to 170$\^{C}$ allowed the greatest swelling of Gaeseong-Juak, but the highest quality score was obtained at 160$\^{C}$ treatment. Overall, the best preparation condition of Gaeseong-Juak was that the mixture of waxy rice flour with 10% medium flour was kneaded with Makkoli and fried at 160$\^{C}$.

  • Many approximate models for interaction between a flexible structure and an infinite external acoustic medium have been developed for a long time. Among them, Doubly Asymptotic Approximations (DAAs) are very well known approximations. But, it has shortcomings in intermediate frequency range and can't fully describe the acoustic medium. So, this paper presents the modified approximation by applying the retarded and advanced potentials to Kirchhoff's formula. It describes the external acoustic medium more in detail and shows a good result in early time transient responses when it was applied to a spherical shell. Through a spherical shell interacting with external acoustic medium, the transient responses for the proposed model is compared to Huang's exact solution and DAA2.

Statistical Optimization of the Medium Components for the Production of Protopectinases by Bacillus subtilis

  • In this study Bacillus subtilis PTCC 1023 was used for the production of protopectinase using soybean based media. The use of isolated soybean protein (ISP) and soybean flour resulted in similar protopectinase production and growth rates. The effect of medium composition on protopectinase production was studied using central composite design (CCD) methodology. The change in the concentration of ISP (1-7%), glucose (0-10%), and phosphate (0.1-0.3 M) was found to affect the protopectinase activity (response variable) after 24 hr of cultivation. In the range studied, ISP and glucose had a negative effect on the response variable, whereas phosphate had a positive effect. A statistically significant interaction was identified between phosphate and ISP, suggesting that correct optimization of medium formulation in this case can only be obtained using factorial design of experiments. Protopectinase activity exceeding 215 U/mL was obtained in a medium containing 4% ISP, 0.3M phosphate, and no added sugar.

  • Through the recent innovative development of information technology Enterprises have applied ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning)system to their company for piling up their management system efficiency. At present the range of its application has been expanded to small and medium enterprises gradually since the ERP system was mainly applied to the large companies. Usually the small and medium enterprises have lower understanding for information management system comparatively than for production system and mostly they do not prepare their own efficient information strategies for the future. In this study, as the ERP system can bring the most efficient results in case it is properly applied to the character of their company we will analyze the character of small and medium enterprises and suggest an appropriate and efficient ERP application strategy to their management system.

LY$\alpha$ TRANSFER IN A THICK, DUSTY, AND STATIC MEDIUM

  • We developed a Monte Carlo code that describes the resonant Ly$\alpha$ line transfer in an optically thick, dusty, and static medium. The code was tested against the analytic solution derived by Neufeld (1990). We explain the line transfer mechanism by tracing histories of photons in the medium. We find that photons experiences a series of wing scatterings at the moment of thier escape from the medium, during which polarization may develop. We examined the amount of dust extinction for a wide range of dust abundances, which are compared with the analytic solution. Brief discussions on the astrophysical application of our work are presented.
