  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors of prevention practices against infection exposure among emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in emergency rooms. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 100 EMTs in emergency rooms from June 1 to August 31, 2017. The questionnaire consisted of items concerning the defensive environment for the prevention of infection exposure, perception of preventive behavior, and degree of performance of preventive actions against infection based on a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and linear regression. Results: The defensive environment for the prevention of infection exposure was 4.12. The perception of preventive action was 4.71, and the degree of performance of preventive actions against infection was 4.54. There was a significant relationship between the degree of performance of preventive actions against infectious exposures and the degree of perception of preventive behavior(r=.506, p=.01) and prevention of infectious exposure(r=.506, p=.01). The protective environment(B=.360, t=3.236, p=.002) and perceived level (B=.904, t=4.662, p=.000) were influenced by the degree of prevention of infection exposure. Conclusion: It is important to manage the protection environment for infection exposure prevention and to enhance the awareness of infection prevention actions against infection exposure among the EMTs in emergency rooms.

  • This study purposed to analyze the productivity of regional medical capacity in attracting medical tourist between 2009 and 2011. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist productivity index (MPI) were applied to test the productivity and changes in study periods. The DEA model included a number of doctors, nurses, and beds as input factors, and a number of inpatient and outpatient, and hospital income as output factors. The result of the study were as follow. Jeju had efficiency value of 1 for three years. Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, Ulsan, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam showed an increasing trend of efficiency value over three years. Seoul had the efficiency value, 1, in 2011. But, Incheon, Gwangju showed decreasing efficiency score during the study period. MPI showed overall productivity decrease during the period. Further studies will be needed by collecting more time-series data.

This study has three major findings. First, utilization rate of national health insurance inpatients was higher than medical aid inpatients in tertiary hospitals. Second, the significant affecting demographic factors in utilizing tertiary hospitals were sex, age, surgery case, treatment result, inpatients residence region and short length of stay. Third, compared to other disease groups, the inpatients on 'congenital malformation, deformity and chromosomal abnormalities', 'factors influencing health status and contact with health services' and 'neoplasm' groups are more likely to utilize tertiary hospitals. • Health services in developing countries are increasingly focused on satisfying the needs of customers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many patients have anxiety when going to hospitals for medical treatment. The pressures brought by the pandemic have overwhelmed the hospital system in Vietnam. This has caused the quality of service at these hospitals to decrease because they have focused on the goal of preventing the spread of the virus. Therefore, hospitals, especially private hospitals, need many solutions to improve the quality of their services. This study evaluated the impact of these factors on hospital service quality, as well as the influence of customer service quality on patient satisfaction. The survey was conducted from January 2021 to September 2021 and data was collected directly from 539 patients at Van Phuc Hospital 1. The results show that 4 factors affect the service quality of the hospital, as well as the service quality affecting patient satisfaction, in which, the strongest impact on the service quality of the hospital is the service attitude and professional capacity of the medical team. In the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, this study implies that if the hospital service is good, the customers' peace of mind and satisfaction will be enhanced.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the use of superior general hospitals on public holidays by using the medical use model (Dutton's medical use model) with the medical panel data. The study found that 34.2% of superior general hospital emergency rooms were used on public holidays and the factors which made statistically significant influences on the use of superior general hospital emergency rooms on public holidays were whether patients were operated or emergency care and inspection etc. Also, there was a difference depending on whether the type of establishment of the medical insititution is national or private. In other words, patients who received emergency care and examinations were found to make more frequent visit to hospital emergency room on pubic holiday, compared to patients who underwent surgery and those who visited emergency rooms in the private superior general hospital did so, compared to those who visited emergency room in the national general hospital(OR, 4.4, 3.386, respectively). Therefore, it is necessary to consider the introduction of integrated care of health and social care medical service that focuses on primary care in Denmark, which focuses on patients, and pre-The Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale(pre-CTAS) in the UK.

  • Objective of the study represents experiences of medical utilization of Psychiatric Outpatients. This research draws on information obtained from the 2008 National-wide sampling study of the Korean Healthcare Panel(KHP) conducted. The results of our study suggest the significance of variables such as the gender(p<.001) in the social demographical characteristics, the medical security type(p<.016), medical institution utilization(p<.012) treatment type(p<.004) in the utilization factors. In the case of medical utilization cost, the financial support factor(p<.018) showed a significant relationship. Depending on the particularities of gender, medical security type, financial support, medical institution utilization, treatment type were determined through a multiple logistics regression analysis. Gender showed that, among Psychiatric outpatient age of 30-59 level was 5.358 times and 60 years and older, their the second medical examination level was 4.490 times higher than Psychiatric outpatients under the age of 29. Health insurance type showed for the others medical allowance was 6.712 times higher than job health insurance and the other treatment was 0.395 times lower than drug treatment. Psychiatric outpatients utilization are rooted in the thoughts and factor levels of the Psychiatric patients and must be understood from the Psychiatric outpatients's perspective. The point is not only to gauge the patients research during Psychiatric medical utilization. The important of social community mental healthcare services levels goes beyond the goal of enhancing healthcare.
