  • Objective: In this study, in order to investigate the relationship between leadership type and job satisfaction, the types of leadership in medical institutions are divided into transformational leadership, servant leadership and authentic leadership. In addition medical staff and non-medical staff are classified according to their job characteristics, and middle managers and operators are classified according to position. Methods: For this purpose, 589 questionnaires were applied to the medical institutions in Seoul and Gyunggi-do, and empirically analyzed with multiple regression. Results: The results of this study are first, among gender, medical or non-medical staff, position and career experience, men, non-medical staffs, and middle managers showed higher leadership, job engagement, and job satisfaction. Second, servant leadership and authentic leadership have significant positive relationships with job engagement. In the case of medical staff, only servant leadership has a positive effect on job engagement, while in the case of non-medical staff, both servant leadership and authentic leadership have significant influence on job engagement. Job satisfaction was found to have a statistically significant effect of servant leadership and authentic leadership in medical staff and non-medical staff. Third, in the case of middle managers, servant leadership showed a statistically significant effect only on job satisfaction, while servant leadership and authentic leadership had statistically significant effects on job engagement and job satisfaction of operators. Conclusions: This study suggests the possibility and applicability of authentic leadership in addition to transformational leadership and servant leadership in hospital organizations. Also, by identifying differences in the effects on organizational effectiveness, it is also suggested the need for research on identifying leadership factors that reflect strictly distinctive job characteristics.

  • This study was carried out to clarify the neuronal organization in pineal body of catfish. The pineal body was observed by acetylcholinesterase histochemistry and electron microscopy. The neuronal types observed in the pineal body of catfish were bipolar and multipolar cells. Multipolar cells were found throughout the pineal end vesicle and whole stalk, but bipolar cells only in the end vesicle and distal stalk. The pineal tract was formed by the long axons of these neurons. The neuronal clusters(pineal ganglia) were also observed in the end vesicle. In summary, the type of neurons in catfish pineal was different from that of other species, and the neuronal distribution differed depending on the region of pineal body. These results reflect the interspecific and regional differences of the pineal organization of fishes.

  • This study investigated the outpatient departments of Infectious Disease Hospitals by Region, which play an important role in establishing regional medical networking, to find a spatial structure that can provide a safe environment for efficient diagnosis and treatment, as well as a rational medical procedure in case of crisis. Department layout and adjacencies were derived by considering the access procedures according to patient classification, medical procedures by department, and connectivity with other departments. Based on the results derived by setting up zones according to infection control, activities, and objects, and analyzing the division of zones, the composition of areas by activities, movement flows by objects and treatment units, it can be used as basic data for the architectural plan of the Infectious Disease Hospital. Also, there are implications that can be used as basic data for planning related facilities by analyzing spatial relationships according to user behavior.

  • In this paper the factors are analyzed, which influenced on the acceptance of Electronic Medical System (EMR) of healthcare organization in Korea. The measured variables and factors were defined on the base of former research works. The questionnaires with Likert's 5 scale were administrated in the 102 general hospitals in Korea. This data was analyzed with SPSS v. 20. According to the result of factor analysis, the 4 influencing factors were grouped. They are, "ICT-infrastructure of healthcare organization", "Management strategy of healthcare organization", "EMR acceptance" and "EMR-performance". 5 hypotheses about the correlations between factors were formulated and analyzed with structural equation model(SEM). The result of this paper could be the good reference to the healthcare organizations on how they should implement and operate the EMR system.

  • Objectives : While the original version of 『Eoyakwonbang』 does not exist, its contents have been introduced in several studies. The existing editions are the Joseon versions 『SinganHyeminEoyakwonbang』(Eulhaeja edition) and 『GyesaSinganHyeminEoyakwonbang』(Gapjinja edition), and a Japanese version, 『GyesaSinganHyeminEoyakwonbang』(Gwanjeong edition). In a recent research, it has been discovered that there is a fourth edition of the book, 『SinganHyeminEoyakwonbang』(Jeonggadang edition), in the Japanese Parliament Library collection. Methods : Contents of the chapter on pediatric diseases were compared among the four editions to clarify their relation with each other. Results : Based on the organization of the chapter, formula names in the list and body, explanatory methods of the formulas, application, formula construction and methods of application, we found that there were great similarities between Eulhaeja edition and Jeonggadang edition, and between Gapjinja edition and Gwanjeong edition. Conclusions : 1. Jeonggadang edition is similar to Eulhaeja edition in contents and form. 2. Although the exact publication date of Jeonggadang edition is unknown, based on the fact that it was mostly circulated in the Qing period, it can be assumed to have been published after the Eulhaeja edition which was published in the 15th century. 3. Gapjinja edition was published in the 16th century and shares little similarity in form, organization and contents with Eulhaeja edition, indicating that a different version was used as the original script. 4. Gwanjeong edition was published in the 18th century, and is very similar in form, organization and contents with Gapjinja edition, repeating the same errors made in the Gapjinja edition. This indicate that Gapjinja edition was the mother script of Gwanjeong edition.

  • Background: Based on the fact that the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency is a public institution established by social demands for medical disputes, this study reviews the publicness of public organization and discusses its policy implications. Methods: Through Moore's strategic triangle, which consists of legitimacy and support, public value and operational capacity, the process of creating public value is examined. For the analysis, case studies were conducted using related literature data from 2012, when the agency was established, to the present. Results: As a result of the analysis, first, the related law examined in the operational capability has been revised dozens of times, but the revised law has its own contradictions and limitations. The human resource system is also being improved, but there is a problem with the fairness and reliability of the arbitration process, especially due to the limitations of the appraiser system. Second, in terms of legitimacy and support, a regional gap occurred despite efforts to improve accessibility through the expansion of the organization. And the arbitration agency failed to reconcile conflicts caused by stakeholders' perception of each other as a trade-off relationship. Third, the public value result shows that, despite many explicit (statistical) achievements, citizens' use of the past dispute resolution means (litigation) has not decreased. Likewise, the perception of value makers (citizens) is important for creating public value as an invisible result, but it has not yet been formally investigated, so the performance can not be recognized. Conclusion: While the organization's efforts for continuous change and improvement are encouraging, it is not perceived as a better means of resolving disputes and improving quality of services. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the institutional design centered on value creators.
