To produce well-qualified medical doctors, clinical training is a crucial part of medical education. To this end, teaching hospitals should be carefully selected and professionally managed. However, in Korea, there are no regulations or standards for training hospitals. Instead, some of the regulations that target teaching interns and residents are applied to teaching hospitals. In this study, we reviewed standards and regulations for training hospitals in other countries as a basis for proposing new standards for teaching hospitals in Korea. These new standards take into account the current environment of Korean medicine with the aim of designing appropriate educational programs for students and professional development systems for professors as well as providing educational resources and addressing the local community and international exchange opportunities.

The character 'yeong(營)' has been used mixed with 'yeong(榮)' from the time of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" up to now. One word can have a various meaning according to the context. So it is difficult to make a precise definition. Moreover as the words in Korean medicine are abstruse, it is necessary to classify and make the meaning straight with the words like 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)'. This study is focused on classifying the meanings and examples of 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)' by the dictionary definition, examples in medical classics, examples in "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)". From this study, we get to know 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)' was used mixed with the concept of 'yeong-gi(營氣)' which means 'transporting nutrition'. The conclusion of this study is, from the dictionary definition and the aspect of oriental medicine physiology, using 'yeong(營)' is more reasonable than 'yeong(榮)' in both cases.

Background: 'Here and now' in the 21st century, what should we be thinking about in this situation where infectious diseases like COVID-19 are penetrating deeply into our lives? At this point, this study aims to present the concept of 'Healing Humanities.' Purposes: If the Humanities as a liberal arts education have emphasized the value of 'communication and convergence,' putting it up as the slogan until now, the Humanities now should seek practical ways to realize their potentials. Methods: The research method was discussed centering on the literature. Results: This discussion centers around the medieval jewelry therapy by Hildegard von Bingen. That is, this study discusses how Hildegard presented gem therapy treatment as a pioneer in the jewelry therapy. Conclusions: It is meaningful that human health and diseases, which are focused on medical technology today, can now serve as a way of humanities practice, and that Hildegart's jewelry treatment can be triggered by a breakthrough. In that sense, this study aims to reveal the legitimacy of Hildegard's treatment to be secured as the Healing Humanities.

Objectives : In many cases, patient's symptoms have been recorded on EMR in natural language instead of medical terminologies. It is possible to build a database by analyzing the symptoms of Korean Medicine(KM) that indicates patient's symptoms in natural language. Using the database, when doctors record patient's symptoms on EMR in natural language, conversely it'll be also possible to extract the symptoms of KM from those natural language. The database will enhance the value of EMR as a medical data. Methods : In this study, we aimed to make data structure of the terminologies that represent the symptoms of KM. The data structure is combinations of smallest unit in natural language. We made the database by analyzing morpheme of the natural language to express the symptoms of KM. Results & Conclusions : By classifying the natural language in 15 features, we made the structure of concept and the data available for morphological analysis.

Based on the previous translation studies and "WHO-IST", we selected terminology, which are required the definition and explanation among jargon expressed in "Dongeuisusebowon Discourse on Nature and Act", and the procedure of the definition, explanation, and translation in Korean and English has been followed. The outcomes of this study are presented as below: First, based on the existing translation studies, Korean and English translation of "Dongeuisusebowon Discourse on Nature and Act" is provided. Second, few of Terminology in "Dongeuisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)" have been written in WHO-IST, even most of them have been standardized in terms of "Huang Di Nei Jing(黃帝內經)". Therefore, terminology related to Four-constitution medicine in WHO-IST would be required to be corrected, and unattatched terminology should be added in the future. Third, in order to standardize and globalize Four-constitution medicine, further definition, explanation, and translation studies of the rest of Dongeuisusebowon should be continued.

The globalization of oriental medicine can be interpreted as the work of making its own contents able to be communicated among global heterogeneous cultural groups. In the field of oriental medical classics the work is to translate its classics into English and introduce them to researchers of oriental medicine in the world, which is essential in order to stimulate global academic communication in that the classics are the prototype as well as the source of oriental medical knowledge for thousands of years. Previous English translation studies have had limits in that terms used were not based on mutual agreement. Now "WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region(WHO-IST)" is the outcome of developing standard terminologies on oriental medicine contributed by researchers of Korea, China and Japan. The study aims to translate parts of "Classic of difficult issues(難經)" into English adopting "WHO-IST" hoping to set a model of translation study which can be communicated universally.

Objectives : To investigate the anti-aging effects of Joobang(酒方) on Dongeuibogam Methods : We analyzed the effect of 27 Joobang(酒方)s on Dongeuibogam and finally extracted 11 Joobang(酒方)s, which have anti-aging effects. Results & Conclusions : 1. We finally selected 12 terms of Joobang(酒方)'s anti-aging effect on Dongeuibogam. 2. We finally selected 11 Joobang(酒方)s as anti-aging candidates. 3. Twelve terms of Joobang(酒方)'s anti-aging effect and 11 candidates with anti-aging effects were classified into five categories. 4. We finally selected 17 medicinal herbs from the 11 candidates. 5. Eleven candidate anti-aging Joobang(酒方)s and 17 medicinal herbs proposed in this study have the potential to reduce the time required for experimental and clinical research for developing novel compounds with anti-aging effects.

During the last decade, genomic cohort study has been developed in many countries by linking health data and genetic data in stored samples. Genomic cohort study is expected to find key genetic components that contribute to common diseases, thereby promising great advance in genome medicine. While many countries endeavor to build biobank systems, biobank-based genome research has raised important ethical concerns including genetic privacy, confidentiality, discrimination, and informed consent. Informed consent for biobank poses an important question: whether true informed consent is possible in population-based genomic cohort research where the nature of future studies is unforeseeable when consent is obtained. Due to the sensitive character of genetic information, protecting privacy and keeping confidentiality become important topics. To minimize ethical problems and achieve scientific goals to its maximum degree, each country strives to build population-based genomic cohort research project, by organizing public consultation, trying public and expert consensus in research, and providing safeguards to protect privacy and confidentiality.
