The purpose of the study was to analyze the apologies made in Korea for the past 10 years, and to diagnose how Koreans used crisis communication strategies. For the analysis, typology of crisis communication strategy was adopted from previous study as well as the new typology distinctively found in Korea. Also preferred crisis communication strategies were analyzed by crisis subject, by crisis type and by stage of crisis. Results showed that among the crisis communication strategies, apology and corrective action were the most used strategies, followed by bolstering and appealing to sympathy. Preferred crisis communication also differed by crisis subject, by crisis type and by stage of crisis. When the crisis subject were government or public institutions, when the locus of crisis responsibility was internal, and when the crisis was a controllable human/social crisis, the justification strategy was preferred. The results seemed to be related to the unique cultural characteristics of Koreans, especially to sense of Cheong and Chemyon. Indirect corrective action and transcendence were Chemyon-saving strategies while bolstering and appealing to sympathy were strategies appealing to Cheong. Future study should address the new typology of crisis communication strategy reflecting the cultural characteristic.
Purpose: Given the predictability of dental implant procedure from the studies of successful osseointegration, implant dentistry is often the treatment of choice to replace missing teeth in edentulous patient instead of the fixed prosthesis or removable denture. The $Renova^{(R)}$ dental implant has a RBM(Resorbable Blast Media) surface, internal hex prosthetic connection and a tapered design. At this study gives the analysis of the implant and the short term survival rate of the implant. Material and Methods: In this study, a multilateral analysis was performed on the subjects undergoing placement with $Renova^{(R)}$ implant between August 2006 and February 2008 in Yonsei University dental hospital. 96 implants were placed in 56 patients and they were surveyed for cumulative survival rate. Among them 78 implants in 44 patients were surveyed for the rest analyses. Result: 1. The cumulative survival rate was 96.88% of 96 implants in 56 patients. 2. The mean marginal bone loss was 0.803mm and the marginal bone loss in augmentation group has higher value than the marginal bone loss in non augmentation group. 3. The health scale for the implants were 87% in success group, 9% in satisfactory survival group, 1% in compromised survival group, and 3% in failure group. 4. Two implants placed in poor bone posterior area by 2-stage failed during prosthetic procedure. Conclusion: $Renova^{(R)}$ dental implant showed high cumulative survival rate in installation on partial edentulous ridge and could be a predictable implant system.
Several new ion exchange resins have been synthesized from chloromethyl styrene-1,4-divinylbenzene(DVB) with 1%, 2%, 4%, and 10%-crosslinking and macrocyclic ligands of cryptand type by interpolymerization method. The adsorption characteristics and the pH, time, solvents and concentration dependence of the adsorption of metal ions by this resin were studied. The correlation between the separation characteristics of uranium, rare earths and transition metal on the resins and the stability constants of complexes with macrocyclic ligands have been examined. The resins were very stable in both acidic and basic media and have good resistance to heat at $280^{\circ}C$. The $UO_2^{+2}$ aqueous solution are not adsorbed on the resins below pH 3.0, but the power of adsorption of $UO_2^{2+}$ increased rapidly above pH 4.0. The optimum equilibrium time for adsorption of metallic ions was twenty minutes and adsorptive power decreased in proportion to crosslinking size of the resins and order of dielectric constants of solvents used and the selective sequence for metal cations is in the order of $UO_2^{2+},\;Cu^{2+}\;and\;Nd^{3+}$.
As a travel demand management and environmental policy, the government actively promotes alternative work arrangements such as telecommuting. Against this backdrop, several empirical studies, which aim to verify the benefits of telecommuting, have been recently conducted. Little consensus, however, exists with respect to the defining, measuring, and forecasting telecommuting, although these are fundamental basis of policy evaluation and academic research. As a fundamental research for analyzing telecommuting impacts, this paper reviews various definitions regarding telecommuting, examines telecommuting penetration and level of telecommuting through review of available survey data in Korea, and forecasts future penetration. The result suggests that current home-based telecommuting penetration and level of telecommuting is approximately 0.5 to 1.1% and 0.2 to 0.5%, respectively, and is approximately 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively, for the center-based telecommuting. In addition, shift-share analysis shows that home-based telecommuting penetration in the Seoul Metropolitan Area in 2020 will be 1.3%, not much different with the current value. Consequently, current telecommuting penetration is much lower than the value that is fed to us by the media (10~20%), and the future prospect is also much lower than the goal of government (30~45%); thus, we can conclude that government's goal of telecommuting promotion is difficult to meet if active encouragement policy will not be introduced.
Brewer's yeast extract can be used as a good substrate for the culture of Lentinula edodes Mycelia(LEM). We found that it was better to filter the extract through three kinds of sieves and then to heat for hydrolysis and concentration at $90^{\circ}C$ prior to use. Also the maximum condition for the growth of LEM was investigated. We found that addition of inorganic salts such as calcium enhanced the growth of LEM. On the other hand, addition of carbon and nitrogen sources to the medium did not affect, and even inhibited under certain conditions, the growth of LEM. The maximum temperature for the growth of LEM was around $25^{\circ}C$. Also, it grows better when agitated by shaking at 100 rpm for airration. The appropriate concentration of the extract to use was 10%. Under these conditions, LEM could reach to the confluency after cultivation of 12 days. Our extract formula seems better than other available media for LEM growth, producing higher crude protein content and better taste.

The communication model has been accepted as the basic research paradigm of cartography since Board(1967) discussed the map/model analogy. In that paradigm, the function of maps was limited to the media of communication, and the functionality of maps was extremely emphasized. Therefore the model could not play its own role under the new environments such as computer, GIS, scientific visualization. Nowadays, the model has been attacked on several grounds and several alternatives have been suggested. Among the objections raised are (1) geographic visualization in which maps are considered as the tool of scientific visualization, (2) the contributions of art which are ignored in the positivist cartographic research, and (3) deconstructionist arguments which deny the scientific epistemology of map as an objective form of knowledge and recognize the textuality of maps including their metaphorical and rhetorical nature. Since a publication by McCormick et al, the scientific visualization based on the powerful computer graphics is used in a wide context. Maps are treated as the tools of scientific visualization and emphasis is on exploration of the geographic data to gain understanding and insight in the geographic visualization processes. The research on geographic visualization have stayed in the early stage of developing the conceptual model and the basic visualization tools. But, it is expected that the geographic or visual thinking which is emphasized in the geographic visualization will contribute the reestablishment of links between cartography and geography. Also, the development of scientific visualization tools and strategies will offer the opportunities to suggest a fresh idea, to synthesize information and develop holistic approaches to geographical problems.
This study aims to analyse the research trend of the participants in Emotional Science in Korea and to suggest a desirable direction of research. I analysed the 1,262 articles published in Korean Journal of the Science of Emotion and Sensibility from 2000 to 2011 according to fields of study and keywords. The findings from the study are as follows. In the fields of study regarding Clothing Design, Psychology, Medicine, Visual Media, Brain Science they are still the top rated categories amongst participants. With the participation of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics they have shown a meaningful difference depending on governmental support such as G7 Project. The problem with Industrial Design is that the majority of studies have been performed alone, and they have many keywords which are not related with Emotional Science. However, 31 new fields of study have been added to the research making the findings more desirable considering that Emotional Science is typical interdisciplinary filed of study. I hope that this study will provide basic data which can be used to promote the interdisciplinary research between the different fields of study in order to generate significant synergy.

To preserve genetic materials, cryopreservation of the semen from live animals is the main technique to establish cryo-banking system which could be used for artificial insemination and embryo transfer. However, the population of Korean black goat (KBG) becomes to dwindle in number and is now faced genetic erosion by crossbreeding with non-native breeds in small KBG farms. In this study, simple freezing method was used to preserve frozen semen from KBG using spermatozoa of cauda epididymis (CE) and electro-stimulated semen (ES). The negative effects of seminal plasma on fresh sperm was confirmed using precipitation test of Triladyl egg yolk diluent and sperm viability after thawing was compared between CE and ES spermatozoa. When seminal plasma of fresh ES semen was washed with semen washing media (SWM), the rates of live sperm shown no significant difference between CE and ES spermatozoa before freezing. However, the survival rate of frozen/thawed CE sperm was higher than ES ($74.6{\pm}10.6%$ vs $53.8{\pm}5.2%$) with significant difference (p < 0.05). The results of longevity test on frozen/thawed sperm from CE showed healthier sperm than ES. Therefore, spermatozoa from CE could be used for cryo-banking system in KBG lines. The more studies are needed to increase survival rate of ES semen.
The experiments were carried out to compare the growth characteristics of excised seminal roots in Japonica type, Indica- Japonica hybrids and its parents. Based on the modified culture medium by Kawata et al., several levels of pH. sucrose and casamino acid were varied in the culture media. The excised root length at 27$^{\circ}C$ incubator was little different between Japonica type and Indica-Japonica hybrids, but at 30$^{\circ}C$ incubator the excised root elongation of Indica-Japonica hybrids was much better than that of Japonica type. The dry matter weight of excised root in Indica- Japonica hybrids was significantly heavier than in Japonica type at both 27 and 30$^{\circ}C$ incubators. The difference of dry root weight between Japonica type and Indica- Japonica hybrids was caused from the number of lateral roots, especially the root numbers of 25 cm length. The main and lateral seminal root growth of Japonica type grew best at the lot of 0.2 percent casamino acid. However, the lots of 0 and 0.2 percent casamino acid showed good results in the main and lateral excised root growth. respectively of Indica-Japonica hydrids. The growth of excised roots was better in Indica-Japonica hybrids than in Japonica type at even various levels of pH, sucrose and casamino acid. Between the parents of Indica - Japonica hybrids, the excised root growth of Indica type was more predominant than that of Japonica type, and the effect of casamino acid on the excised root growth in the formar was similar to that of Indica type. This result indicated that the growth characteristics of excised seminal roots in Indica Japonica hybrids were derived from the parent, Indica type.

Studies on attractive color changing property of dye chromophore and fluorophore have been greatly enjoyed in the related industrial and research fields such as optoelectronics, chemosensor, biosensor and so on. The optical property based on D-$\Pi$-A intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) system of chromophore molecules can be utilized as suitable sensing probes for checking media polarity and determining colorimetric chemosensing effect, especially heavy metal detection. These finding are obtained by absorption and emission properties. In this work, donor-acceptor D-$\Pi$-A type fluorescent dyes were designed and synthesized with the corresponding donor and acceptor groups. The selected donor moieties might be provided prominent amorphous properties which are very useful in designing and synthesizing functional polymers and in fabricating devices. Another reasons to choose are commercial availabilities in high purity and low price. Donor-bridge-acceptor (D-A) type dyes can produce impressive optical-physical properties, yielding them potentially suitable for applications in the synthesis of small functional organic molecules. Small organic functional molecules have unique advantages, such as better solubility, amorphous character, and represent an area of research which needs to be explored and developed. Currently, their applications in metalorganic compounds is rapidly expanding and becoming widespread in self-assembly processes, photoluminescence applications, chiral organocatalysts, and ingrafts with nanomaterials. Colloidal nanoparticles have received great attentions in recent years. The photophysical properties of nanoparticles, particularly in terms of brightness, photostability, emission color purity and broad adsorption range, are very attractive functions in many applications. To our knowledge background, colloidal nanoparticles have been enjoyed their applications in bio-probe research fields. This research interest can be raised by the advantages of the materials such as high photoluminescence quantum yields, sharp emission band, long-term photostability and broad excitation spectra. In recent, the uses of nanoparticles being embedded in a polymer matrix and binded on polymer surface have been explored and their properties such as photo-activation and strong photoluminescence have been proposed. The prepared chromophores and nanoparticles were investigated with absorption and emission properties, solvatochromic behaviors, pH induced color switching effects, chemosensing effects and HOMO/LUMO energy potentials with computer simulation. In addition, synthesized fluorophore dyes and particles were applied onto PE/Aramid fiber fluorescing colorations. And the related details were then discussed.
