Games Development Methodology as a Teaching Tool for Elementary School: Case Study of Developing History Learning Game (초등 교과 학습 도구로서의 게임 개발 방법론: 역사 게임 개발 연구 사례를 중심으로)

  • This paper introduces an educational game development method for the purpose of designing game as part of school curriculum activities, base on experimental case of making history learning game for private elementary schools in Korea. Our first approach was to define a game as a educational learning tool like any other media and mediating platform such as smart phones or other applications. We regard user as a player, and students as a end user and decision making-customers. Unlike other game development process we brought service design methode to the development process, making a game platform that is specially designed for teachers' teaching tool, which is easy and effective to use to ther subject of teacher's intention. Based on our research case, we suggest educational games development methodology which can be better suited for games with school curriculum in learning environment.

Open BIS Platform and Business Model Development for Providing Bus Information in the Area (지역의 버스정보 제공을 위한 Open BIS 플랫폼 및 비즈니스 모델 개발)

  • Developing countries and small local governments face financial constraints, limiting the adoption of their own bus information systems. However, despite poor social infrastructure and low income levels, developing countries have a high smartphone penetration rate, and the distribution and usage of online content and social media are widespread. Smartphones, equipped with GPS sensors, cameras, and other location-based information collection capabilities, can replace expensive on-site terminals. This study aims to replace expensive on-site terminals with smartphones, develop a center system based on cloud servers, and establish an extensible Open BIS (Bus Information System) service and platform that can be applied anywhere. The goal is to formulate a business model in the process.

A Study on Creation of Fair Transaction Environment between Platform Operator and Contents Provider in Broadcasting Industry (방송 산업 내 플랫폼사업자와 콘텐츠사업자 간 공정거래환경 조성 연구)

  • In a broadcasting market environment that has a close interdependence between platform operators and content operators, problems such as conflicts over program usage fees, and home shopping transmission fees are intensifying. This study attempted to analyze the environment of the domestic broadcasting market and present implications, analyze the cause of user fee conflict between the platform and PP, and propose detailed alternatives to resolve user fee conflict disputes. The results of environmental analysis on the domestic broadcasting market are as follows. First, the growth engine of the broadcasting industry has changed to direct resources such as service usage fees and content fees, and commerce is increasing. Second, as hegemony in the domestic broadcasting market changes from terrestrial to paid broadcasting and OTT, monopolies in the entire broadcasting area are being dismantled by voluntary entry. Third, the need to overhaul the existing regulatory system is increasing due to the dismantling and reorganization of the existing broadcasting market. On the other hand, this study proposed a strategy to diversify the profit structure of PP, supply program after pre-contracting, and strengthen CPS bargaining power in order to resolve disputes between paid broadcasting platforms and PP sharply. In particular, as strategies to strengthen CPS bargaining power of small and medium-sized SOs, it proposed to jointly improve CPS-related systems through IPTV and individual SOs, to redefine fees for programs and to voluntarily use programs.

Exploring Twitter Follower-Networks of Startup Companies Employing Social Network Analysis and Cluster Analysis (소셜네트워크 분석과 클러스터 분석 방법을 활용한 스타트업 회사의 트위터 팔로워 네트워크에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • The importance of business strategy for successful social media engagement has quickly increased as more businesses engage in social media. The importance is even greater for startup companies because startup companies are genuinely new to business, and they need to increase their presence in the market, and quickly access future customers. The objective of this paper lies in exploring key indicators of social media engagements by selected startup companies. The key indicators include two aspects of social media usages by the companies: i) overall social media activities, and ii) properties of network structure of the information flow platform provided by social media service. To better assess and evaluate the key indicators of social media usages by startup companies, the indicators will be compared with those of selected large established companies. Twitter is selected as a social media service for the analysis of this paper, and using Twitter REST API, data regarding the key indicators of overall Twitter activities and the Twitter follower-network of each company in the sample are collected. Then, the data are analyzed using social network analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis to examine the characteristics of the follower-network structures and to compare the characteristics between startup companies and established companies. The results show that most indicators are significantly different across startup companies and established companies. One key interesting finding is that the startup companies have proportionally more influencers in their follower-networks than the established companies have. Another interesting finding is that the follower-networks of startup companies in the sample have higher modularity and higher transitivity, suggesting that the startup companies tend to have a proportionally larger number of communities of users in their follower-networks, and the users in the networks are more tightly connected and cohesive internally. The key business implication for the future social media engagement efforts by startup companies in general is that startup companies may need to focus on getting more attention from influencers and promoting more cohesive communities in their follower-networks to appreciate the potential benefits of social media in the early stage of business of startup companies.

  • 본 논문은 신속하고 정확한 재난정보 전달을 위해 재난 데이터를 수집하여 다중매체 특성에 맞추어 재난정보를 만들고 관리하는 다중매체 멀티미디어 재난정보 생성 및 전달 서비스 플랫폼을 제안한다. 제안하는 플랫폼은 지진, 태풍 등의 재난에 대해 측정 데이터를 정부 기관 및 지방자치단체를 통해 수집하면 재난의 규모, 위치, 시간, 대응 정보를 포함하는 재난정보를 CATV(Cable Television), IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) 등 다중매체 특성에 따라 생성하여 다중매체에 전달함으로써, 국민을 대상으로 매체의 특성에 독립적으로 일관되는 재난정보를 신속하고 정확하게 전달할 수 있다. 제안한 플랫폼을 통해 신속하고 정확하게 전달된 대국민 재난정보를 통해 재난에 대한 신속한 대국민 대응이 가능하여 재난 피해를 최소화할 수 있다.

  • 스마트폰과 스마트TV와 같은 다양한 콘텐츠 소비 단말들이 급속히 보급되는 최근의 IT환경에서는 콘텐츠 제작, 유통, 소비에 있어서 예전과는 다른 패러다임을 요구하게 되었다. 예를 들어 각기 다른 해상도, 연산량, 사용자환경 등의 다양한 조건들에 대한 고려가 중요한 문제로 부각되고 있다. 이를 해결하고자 단일 서비스 콘텐츠 패키지로 여러 단말들에게 적응적인 서비스를 제공하는 Scalable Application Description Language(SADL)에 기반한 스케일러블 어플리케이션 프레임워크가 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 스케일러블 어플리케이션 프레임워크에서 적응형 서비스 콘텐츠를 쉽게 생산하고 패키징 할 수 있도록 이클립스 공개소스 플랫폼 기반의 저작도구를 제안 및 개발하였다. 개발한 저작도구는 유지 보수 및 확장성을 고려하여 모델-뷰-컨트롤러에 기반한 Graphical Editing Framework(GEF)를 이용했다. 제안하는 저작도구는 다양한 운영체제에서 작동하며, 유지보수 및 확장성이 우수하다. 또한 서비스 콘텐츠 개발을 위해 이클립스 플랫폼이 지원하는 다양한 플러그인 도구들을 그대로 활용 가능하다는 장점을 갖는다. 뿐만 아니라 본 저작도구는 기능의 추가적인 확장을 통해 홈 내 가상화 장치들을 위한 응용 프로그램 제작에도 활용할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents an investigation into the development of a fabric electronics based smart bag for festival users of the 2029 generation with customizable tech flaps (music media control/ LED animated graphic functions) based on the application of traditional Korean patterns and goblin patterns in an electric circuit. The investigator took into consideration functional and design strategies to enable custom service according to users' tastes and situations. Based on these considerations, a customizable smart bag platform was proposed in a detachable module based on a computer embroidery machine. The study is significant in that it developed a product that is different from the old PCB smart products in hard form and proposed a new business model.

  • This paper presents development of a management system for the health and diseases of the elderly. This study aimed to the promotion of the u-healthcare industry and to the increase in its competitive power by developing and expanding a system for managing the health and diseases of the elderly, in cooperation with u-healthcare companies. The study is underway through the following four substudies. In the first substudy titled development of the bio-signal collection and analysis technology using smart media, a technology that supports the collection of bio-signals in the elderly using portable terminals. In the second substudy titled development of the patient-specific healthcare platform expansion and enhancement technology, a technology is being developed for making medical decisions and taking measures based on the results of the processing of the collected bio-signals. In the third substudy titled development of the N-screen based healthcare contents open service technology, a technology is being developed to provide information on health, diseases, and medicine to platforms. In the fourth substudy titled development of the oriental medicine diagnosis and analysis technology for senile diseases. This study is expected to help ensure an excellent workforce and new technologies in the healthcare sector using smart phones, and to help reduce medical expenses by improving the health of citizens.

  • 미디어 서비스는 사용자들의 다양한 미디어 소비 패턴 변화와 상호작용 서비스, 고화질 고용량의 다양한 소비자들 요구로 인해 새로운 미디어 서비스 패러다임을 맞이하고 있다. 이에 따라, IT 자원의 효율적인 사용 및 유지 관리비용의 절감을 목적으로 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 기반으로 한 클라우드 미디어 서비스의 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 하지만, 기존 클라우드 기반 미디어 서비스의 경우 저작권 보호 기술이 제한적이며, 사용자 및 서비스 제공자에게 유연한 저작권 보호 기술이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 기반 미디어 서비스를 위한 저작권 보호 플랫폼에 대한 참조 모델을 제시하여 멀티 DRM을 지원하는 클라우드 기반 미디어 서비스를 구축할 때 실제 시스템 구현에 참조할 수 있는 모델을 제시한다.

  • In these day, Digital Contents is authorized in forms of HTML and various kind of multi-media by an enterprise and/or organization. At this circumstances, it is very hard or impossible to search a contents between them. Futhermore, you may have to change your contents service systems to extend to cover more user services needs. On this paper, we propose a new architecture to get extendability and empowered interoperability without any maintenance, update or changes. And we introduce the OMG's CORBA to make fault resilient system and to provide a load balancing using a distributed process mechanism. Even more, we adopted the SyncML specification. It can help us to make it real to synchronize between DBMS at real-time. So all these are support easy content synchronization and user-friendness.
