  • In this paper, the transmission characteristics of a frequency-hopped spread spectrum communication system operating in the presence of both time and frequency-selective fading channel is presented. The receiver is a binary noncoherent matched-filter FFH-SS system with square-law combiner. The probability of error to the variations of the parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio, selectivity of a channel, and power ratio is derived with the use of diversity concept without considering the data rate. The analysis of the data for probability of error shoves that the performance of FFH-SS system in time-selective fading channel is better than in frequency-selective fading channel.

  • This research was conducted to identify adolescent problems in internet articles. This research defines adolescent problems as diverse issues related to adolescents and examine how it was dealt in the media to find out how different categories and the aspect of adolescent problems are changing by time. The result of the research was that in 1990's, education policy and family were mainly dealt with when it came to adolescent problems. As the era is changing, adolescent problems were far diversified compared to the past, and each problems are dealt with similar importance. This research is significant in that it does not only examine the social trend adolescent problems but also expand the range of adolescent counselling and utilizes quantitative analysis in considering diversity to provide new information.

  • In this paper, we present a data augmentation method that generates synthetic plant disease images using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). We propose a training scheme that first uses classical data augmentation techniques to enlarge the training set and then further enlarges the data size and its diversity by applying GAN techniques for synthetic data augmentation. Our method is demonstrated on a limited dataset of 2789 images of tomato plant diseases (Gray mold, Canker, Leaf mold, Plague, Leaf miner, Whitefly etc.).

  • This study focused on how to analyze the ICT policy formation process using social big data. Specifically, in this study, a method for quantifying variables that influenced policy formation using the concept of a policy triggering mechanism and elements necessary to present the analysis results were proposed. For the analysis of the ICT policy triggering mechanism, variables such as 'Scope', 'Duration', 'Interactivity', 'Diversity', 'Attention', 'Preference', 'Transmutability' were proposed. In addition, 'interpretation of results according to data level', 'presentation of differences between collection and analysis time points', and 'setting of garbage level' were suggested as elements necessary to present the analysis results.

  • Owing to the need to establish a cooperative-intelligent transport system (C-ITS) environment in the transportation sector locally and abroad, various research and development efforts such as high-tech road infrastructure, connection technology between road components, and traffic information systems are currently underway. However, the current central control center-oriented information collection and provision service structure and the insufficient road infrastructure limit the realization of the C-ITS, which requires a diversity of traffic information, real-time data, advanced traffic safety management, and transportation convenience services. In this study, a network construction method based on the existing received signal strength indicator (RSSI) selected as a comparison target, and the experimental target and the proposed intelligent edge network compared and analyzed. The result of the analysis showed that the data transmission rate in the intelligent edge network was 97.48%, the data transmission time was 215 ms, and the recovery time of network failure was 49,983 ms.

  • Performing arts, for instance, theatre and dance that perform on the stage, should recognize the contemporary characters and also emphasize the trend of the times. Thus, the subject of those varies and provides the audience diversity contents and style. People who perform those try to put the contemporary characteristic and sociality into their stage by utilizing new technology for their stage to be more sophisticated in aesthetic and philosophic aspects. According to the trend of the times, science and technology have been making great progress. As a result, the stage technology continues to develop, contributing to enhance the aesthetic and philosophical completeness of the performing arts. Also, there are technical and formal researches or methods constantly that make the performing arts new and diverse. Therefore, it can be said that it is very important to widen a category of the performing arts that amplify the actor's acting and emotions on the stage and then give the audience an experience. This paper will analyze in the way which various image techniques utilize to widen the actor's technique in the performing arts and the actor's technique progresses in the era called the Fourth Industrial Revolution era that grafts the art onto new media. Through this paper, in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a new paradigm in actor's acting which is becoming a hot topic in performing arts is predicted and anticipated.

  • The diversity elucidation by amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis and 16S rDNA sequencing of 96 associative diazotrophs, isolated from the feeder roots of tea on enriched nitrogen-free semisolid media, revealed the predominance of Gram-positive over Gram-negative bacteria within the Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh, India. The Gram-positive bacteria observed belong to two taxonomic groupings; Firmicutes, including the genera Bacillus and Paenibacillus; and Actinobacteria, represented by the genus Microbacterium. The Gram-negative bacteria included ${\alpha}$-Proteobacteria genera Brevundimonas, Rhizobium, and Mesorhizobium; ${\gamma}$-Proteobacteria genera Pseudomonas and Stenotrophomonas; and ${\beta}$-Proteobacteria genera Azospira, Burkholderia, Delftia, Herbaspirillum and Ralstonia. The low level of similarity of two isolates, with the type strains Paenibacillus xinjiangensis and Mesorhizobium albiziae, suggests the possibility of raising species novum. The bacterial strains of different phylogenetic groups exhibited distinct carbon-source utilization patterns and fatty acid methyl ester profiles. The strains differed in their nitrogenase activities with relatively high activity seen in the Gramnegative strains exhibiting the highest similarity to Azospira oryzae, Delftia lacustris and Herbaspirillum huttiense.

  • The common split-gilled mushroom, Schizophyllum commune is found throughout the world on woody plants. This study was initiated to evaluate conditions for favorable vegetative growth and to determine molecular phylogenetic relationship in twelve different strains of S. commune. A suitable temperature for mycelial growth was obtained at $30^{\circ}C$. This mushroom grew well in acidic conditions and pH 5 was the most favorable. Hamada, glucose peptone, Hennerberg, potato dextrose agar and yeast malt extract were favorable media for growing mycelia, while Lilly and glucose tryptone were unfavorable. Dextrin was the best and lactose was the less effective carbon source. The most suitable nitrogen sources were calcium nitrate, glycine, and potassium nitrate, whereas ammonium phosphate and histidine were the least effective for the mycelial growth of S. commune. The genetic diversity of each strain was investigated in order to identify them. The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of rDNA were amplified using PCR. The size of the ITS1 and ITS2 regions of rDNA from the different strains varied from 129 to 143 bp and 241 to 243 bp, respectively. The sequence of ITS1 was more variable than that of ITS2, while the 5.8S sequences were identical. A phylogenetic tree of the ITS region sequences indicated that the selected strains were classified into three clusters. The reciprocal homologies of the ITS region sequences ranged from 99 to 100%. The strains were also analyzed by random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) with 20 arbitrary primers. Twelve primers efficiently amplified the genomic DNA. The number of amplified bands varied depending on the primers used or the strains tested. The average number of polymorphic bands observed per primer was 4.5. The size of polymorphic fragments was obtained in the range of 0.2 to 2.3 kb. These results indicate that the RAPD technique is well suited for detecting the genetic diversity in the S. commune strains tested.
