The diffusion of smart media based on Internet has brought great changes on existing media business model. This changes also affect the core competence of jobs in media industry. This study performed two focus group interviews among professionals in media industry. The interviews examined the changes that media professionals recognize in the field and requirement changes to meet the job core competence. The interviews also examined the media education method in university that can respond to the changes in the media industry. Breaking away from the classical theory oriented education, university should develop the curriculum that can support competence required in the media industry. Media education in university should focus on fostering problem solving ability that can work regarding various issues in new media environment.
This article is media education uses type of a middle high school students and research about effect that is taking media education. Measured media education uses motivation, studies own effect academic self-efficacy, media competence and school achievement for this research. As analysis result, priority media education uses motive was 'teaching convenience/help sought', 'Information/education method picking up sought', 'new teaching/communication thoroughgoing sought', 'ability elevation pursuit', 'self-regulating education sought', 'up-to-dateness sought', 'New knowledge/education sought' of order. By next time, only 'new knowl edge/education sought' motive caused positive effect in studies own effect among media education uses motive. Among media education uses motive, 'teaching convenience/help sought', 'Information/education method picking up sought', 'New study/communication thoroughgoing sought', 'self-regulating education sought', 'up-to-dateness sought' motive caused positive effect in media competence. Also, it caused positive effect among media education uses motive 'self-regulating education sought' and 'new knowledge/education sought' in students' school achievement. Finally, 'academic self-efficacy' is 'media competence' more in school achievement influence. Media education influenced new teaching method and ability elevation to some students. But, academic self-efficacy and school achievement did not cause big effect students. However, media education influenced in some students' media competence elevation.

This study examined the job competence of the staff at the center for teaching and learning(CTL) in university and to find out the level of job competence, which has been asked to the staff of the CTL. For that, the factor of the job competence, which is required of the staff of the CTL, was inquired through a literature review. Based on the job competence, this study examined the required job competence of the staff in Daejeon city and Chungnam province. The result suggests that the job competence required of staff are the basic job competence, planning-analysis job competence, management job competence for the project, and evaluation job competence. The first factor in basic job competence is the attitude to change and innovation. In the planning-analysis job competence, the first factor is an analysis and consultation of instruction. In managing the job competence for the project, the first factor is the management of human resources, and the first factor in evaluating the job competence is an evaluation of the effectiveness of the media. Therefore, to revitalize the CTL, there is a need to organize an expert pool, plan and support program that is suitable for professional development.
This study's purpose is a search for the conceptual variety of media education. For this purpose, media education's surrounding is used to search by two of view. First view is about the condition of media education that includes an advent of new media, consumer's attitude change to user and variety of educational change. And then the variable paradigm of media education are viewed how it is connected with the theories of media with time. Change of surrounding and theoretical variety tell us why concept of media education should be revised. So, in this study, many scholar's definitions of the media education are regarded. From the rally stage of education for the television, the media education's definition has formed as new field. After that, media education expanded to the media literacy as communication competence with an advent of new media. This means that media education would be variably extend to verbal media education, critical interpretation of the contents and communication with community.
With the advent of communication technologies including electronic collaborative tools and conferencing systems provided over the Internet, virtual collaboration is becoming increasingly common in organizations. Virtual collaboration refers to an environment in which the people working together are interdependent in their tasks, share responsibility for outcomes, are geographically dispersed, and rely on mediated rather than face-to face, communication to produce an outcome. Research suggests that new sets of individual skill, knowledge, and ability (SKAs) are required to perform effectively in today's virtualized workplace, which is labeled as individual virtual competence. It is also argued that use of online social networking sites may influence not only individuals' daily lives but also their capability to manage their work-related relationships in organizations, which in turn leads to better performance. The existing research regarding (1) the relationship between virtual competence and task performance and (2) the relationship between online networking and task performance has been conducted based on different theoretical perspectives so that little is known about how online social networking and virtual competence interplay to predict individuals' task performance. To fill this gap, this study raises the following research questions: (1) What is the individual virtual competence required for better adjustment to the virtual collaboration environment? (2) How does online networking via diverse social network service sites influence individuals' task performance in organizations? (3) How do the joint effects of individual virtual competence and online networking influence task performance? To address these research questions, we first draw on the prior literature and derive four dimensions of individual virtual competence that are related with an individual's self-concept, knowledge and ability. Computer self-efficacy is defined as the extent to which an individual beliefs in his or her ability to use computer technology broadly. Remotework self-efficacy is defined as the extent to which an individual beliefs in his or her ability to work and perform joint tasks with others in virtual settings. Virtual media skill is defined as the degree of confidence of individuals to function in their work role without face-to-face interactions. Virtual social skill is an individual's skill level in using technologies to communicate in virtual settings to their full potential. It should be noted that the concept of virtual social skill is different from the self-efficacy and captures an individual's cognition-based ability to build social relationships with others in virtual settings. Next, we discuss how online networking influences both individual virtual competence and task performance based on the social network theory and the social learning theory. We argue that online networking may enhance individuals' capability in expanding their social networks with low costs. We also argue that online networking may enable individuals to learn the necessary skills regarding how they use technological functions, communicate with others, and share information and make social relations using the technical functions provided by electronic media, consequently increasing individual virtual competence. To examine the relationships among online networking, virtual competence, and task performance, we developed research models (the mediation, interaction, and additive models, respectively) by integrating the social network theory and the social learning theory. Using data from 112 employees of a virtualized company, we tested the proposed research models. The results of analysis partly support the mediation model in that online social networking positively influences individuals' computer self-efficacy, virtual social skill, and virtual media skill, which are key predictors of individuals' task performance. Furthermore, the results of the analysis partly support the interaction model in that the level of remotework self-efficacy moderates the relationship between online social networking and task performance. The results paint a picture of people adjusting to virtual collaboration that constrains and enables their task performance. This study contributes to research and practice. First, we suggest a shift of research focus to the individual level when examining virtual phenomena and theorize that online social networking can enhance individual virtual competence in some aspects. Second, we replicate and advance the prior competence literature by linking each component of virtual competence and objective task performance. The results of this study provide useful insights into how human resource responsibilities assess employees' weakness and strength when they organize virtualized groups or projects. Furthermore, it provides managers with insights into the kinds of development or training programs that they can engage in with their employees to advance their ability to undertake virtual work.
The purpose of this study is to present the mental model of young adolescents' media environment and the use and to provide several educational suggestions drawing on the revealed model. For this, the data were collected through 4 activities such as interview, picture drawings, word association experiment, and sentence completion task with ten 4-5th graders in elementary schools; they were qualitatively analyzed by 2 researchers. First, the meaning components driven by sentence completion task, word association experiment were totally 6 components: media device, connection(alienation), competence(provision), entertainment, adverse effects, ambilaterality. Second, the components of media mental model driven by pictures were 4 components: functions/competence, entertainment, conflict with paper books/sharing, harmfulness/ambilaterality. Third, the components from interview consisted of conflict between paper books and electronic media, communication-centeredness, fear(addiction) and users' qualification. Based on those results, careful examination in cyber talk, necessity of addiction prevention, active development of learning media and their balanced utilization with books, and healthful media literacy education and reinforcement of critical thinking were suggested.

This study investigates the conditions under which the compensation effect occurs in advertising, focusing on the influence of warmth messages on consumer perceptions and responses. By comparing single-ad and comparative ad exposure contexts, the research reveals how warmth messages affect perceived brand competence and the intention to like ads. High warmth messages, when viewed in a comparative ad setting, lead to lower perceived brand competence compared to a single-ad setting, emphasizing the need for strategic message placement in competitive environments. The study further explores how consumers' construal levels-whether considering near-future or distant-future purchase decisions-moderate these effects. The negative impact of high warmth messages on perceived competence is amplified in a comparative context at low construal levels, while high construal levels mitigate this negative impact. These results provide both theoretical and practical insights, highlighting the importance of ad context and construal level in advertising strategies.
The purpose of this study is to analyze recognition cases on media education for disabled people, discovering tasks to improve media competence of disabled people and to find adequate supporting program. Semi-open type focus group interview is conducted with participation from media education teachers having teaching experience over disabled people. Main goal for this interview is to locate the aim, causes of disability, education methodology and revitalizing method for the media education for disabled people. Specifically, semi open type focus interview is selected to form questionnaires while catalyzing free discussion between participants. The intention of selecting quantitative research by FGI is to derive various recognition and experiences of participants by free discussions and opinion sharing. In addition, both teachers and learners are selected to find differentiated and common views towards the theme, realistically analyzing recognition experience from various angles.

The purpose of thesis was to examine an effect of physical activities with peer competence for children. In this study, 44 children in the age of 5 in 2nd Kindergarten located in K city, Chungnam. The subjects were 22 children(11 boys and 10 girls) in A Kindergarten are selected in order to conduct physical activities based on cooperation and 22 children(10 boys and 11 girls) in B Kindergarten as a comparison group to implement individual-oriented physical activities. We applied the program in the total of 20 times at 30 minutes each time, and 2 times in each session for a total of 10 weeks. For peer competence tests, a measure for peer competence is used, which is developed for children. The results are as followed. firstly, the physical activity programs developed in the study on peer competence of five-year old children. secondly, Secondly, the activities improved every sub-factors of the peer competence such as sociability, pro-sociability, proactive. In addition, the study suggests a theoretical basis that can be used as practical measures of physical activity in the children. In addition, the physical activities in peer competence could build good inter-personal relationship through active interaction among the infants and lead positive impact on the development of their sociality.
Background: This study examines the relationship between the emotional labor and compassion competence of clinical dental hygienists. It attempted to provide basic data to establish a plan to increase the dental hygiene performance of clinical dental hygienists in the future by identifying the factors influencing the dental hygiene work performance. Methods: This study is aimed at clinical dental hygienists working at the Jeollabuk-do Dental Clinic from April to June 2020 by the Convenience Sampling Method. An online survey site program was used to explain the purpose and purpose of the study on social media including the dental hygienist community, and distribute a URL that allows you to participate in the survey only if you agree to the study. Results: In emotional labor, there was a significant difference in job satisfaction and marital status, and in compassion competence, there were significant differences in job satisfaction, final education, and marital status by group. In dental hygiene work performance, compassion competency showed a statistically significant positive correlation. In other words, it was found that the higher the compassion competence, the higher the dental hygiene work performance. It was found that the total number of years worked and the compassion competence that influenced dental hygiene work performance were statistically significant. Conclusion: In summary, in order to improve the dental hygiene work performance of clinical dental hygienists, it is necessary to compassion competence with the subject. To this end, it is believed that various supports, measures, and systematic management should be implemented to compassion competence of clinical dental hygienists.
