  • Turnout is a mechanical installation enabling railway trains to be guided from one track to another at a railway junction. A movable nose crossing frog is a device used at a railway turnout to eliminate the gap at the common crossing (High manganese, block, assembly crossing)which can cause impact damage, noise and vibration. Our government has a plan speed up of conventional line to 250km/h semi-high speed. We had already developed flexible turnout with fixed crossing(High manganese) and SFC fastening system can cover in the semi-high speed line In this study is about development of the movable nose crossing turnout available Semi-high speed line on concrete track. This paper describes about geometry, attack angle, bending stress at the nose, switching force, safety of continuous welded long rails. This movable nose crossing turnout is expected greatly increases passing speed of turnout in national railway.

  • Shrink fitting is often used to constrain a conventional mechanical fasteners and fastening methods with temperature difference. Localized heating of the mating surface provides temporary expansion and allows slip fit assembly. The resulting interference fit exhibits exceptional strength without surface deformation at ambient temperatures. We studied an analysing method to find out a deformation of motor axis as variation of constrained method with shrink fitting.

초음파용접에 의한 열가소성 수지의 접합 (Joining of Thermoplastics by the Ultrasonic Welding)

  • Joining of thermoplastics is an area of growing importance in the automotive, aerospace, electronics medical and other domestic appliance industries. While adhesive Bonding or mechanical fastening could be used to join thermoplastics, welding is very effective because of its speed and low cost. This study investgated the ultrasonic joining of thermoplastics. Four kinds of thermoplastics such as Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, Polystyrene, Polyethylene and Polypropylene were used, ultilizing all possible joining combinations. In each combination of thermoplastics, the weldability of the joint was evaluated as a function of weld time, amplitude of vibration and pressure. It was generally found that joining of amorphous thermoplastics with semicrystalline thermopastics resulted in poor joints due to its different crystalline structure. Joining of the amorphous thermoplastics together and joining of the semicrystalline thermoplastics together produced the best joints owing to its same crystalline structure.

  • Head-and-neck cancer is often treated with intensive irradiation focused on the tumor, while delivering the minimum amount of irradiation to normal cells. Since a course of radiotherapy can take 5-6 weeks or more, the repeatability of the patient posture and the fastening method during treatment are important determinants of the success of radiotherapy. Many devices have been developed to minimize positional discrepancies, but all of the commercial devices used in clinical practice are operated manually and require customized fixtures for each patient. This is inefficient and the performance of the fixture device depends on the operator's skill. Therefore, this study developed an automated head-and-neck immobilizer that can be used during radiotherapy and evaluated the positioning reproducibility in a phantom experiment. To eliminate interference caused by the magnetic field from computed tomography hardware, Ni-Ti shape-memory alloy wires were used as the actuating elements of the fixtures. The resulting positional discrepancy was less than 5 mm for all positions, which is acceptable for radiotherapy.

  • Recently The automotive industry is trying to increase the energy efficiency by reducing the weight of the car body and engine components as a way to achieve high energy efficiency. In particular, the reduction of the weight of the vehicle through the weight reduction of the vehicle body has the advantage that the fuel consumption and the output can be improved. But at the same time, there is the disadvantage that the strength becomes weak due to the reduction of the material thickness. Therefore, in order to overcome these disadvantages, materials with high strength according to the unit thickness have been actively developed, and researches for applying them have also been increasing. In this study, we will investigate the application of cold rolled steel sheet, which is a lightweight material, to a horn bracket that secures a installed in an automobile engine room. The horn bracket secures the horn on the car engine and is bolted to the outer wall of the engine. The momentum is acted on the bracket due to the distance between the bolt fastening part and the car horn installed on the bracket end side. Therefore, the body part of the bracket is more likely to be destroyed by the influence of the continuous stress. In this paper, design optimization for weight reduction and strength enhancement was performed to solve this problem, and possibility of applying the rolled steel sheet material as lightweight material by tensile test and fabrication was confirmed.

GFRP 도어 임팩트 빔과 Steel 브래킷의 기계적 결합에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Mounting between GFRP Door Impact Beam and Steel Brackets)

  • The mounting performance of the GFRP(Glass fiber Reinforced Plastic) beam and the mechanical mounting of the steel bracket was studied to be mounted as a GFRP impact beam on the side door of the passenger car. Moreover, an open-hole tensile test was performed to evaluate breakage tendency based on GFRP stacking conditions. Furthermore, the tightening strength of rivets and bolts was compared using the single lap-shear tension test for the GFRP stacking pattern. Additionally, the GFRP beam and bracket mounting features were designed; moreover, the prototype and bracket were assembled. Additionally, the bracket mounting bending test and the door assembly static bending test were performed to verify the stability of the bracket mounting. In the bracket fastening bending test, no breakage occurred in the connection part between the GFRP beam and the bracket, and it showed 67% (24.4 kN) improved performance compared to steel. In the static bending test of the door assembly, the initial average reaction force increased by 25% compared to the steel, and the performance of all FMVSS-214 regulations was satisfied. The replacement of GFRP impact beams resulted in a 30% weight reduction

핀관 열교환기에서 확관율이 접촉열전달계수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Expansion Ratio on Contact Heat Transfer Coefficient in Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger)

  • The plate fin and tube type of heat exchanger is widely used in air conditioner, and the heat exchanger is assembled by the mechanical expansion of copper tubes and fastening the aluminum fin. The objective of the present study is to investigate how the mechanical expansion of copper tube affects on the heat transfer performance of a plate fin and tube type heat exchanger. This study has been performed by experimental and numerical methods. The numerical and experimental results show that the tube expansion ratio has a influence on the heat transfer performance. Within the tested expansion ratio, the contact pressure shows the peak value and it decreases as the expansion ratio increases. Air-side heat transfer coefficient increases until the expansion ratio reaches 1.23, and then decreases with the similar pattern to the contact pressure. Also, contact heat transfer coefficient shows the maximum when the contact pressure is highest as well as the air-side heat transfer coefficient.

원공이 있는 복합적층판의 파괴특성 연구 (Study on Failure Characteristics of Laminate with a Hole)

  • 복합적층 구조물의 체결특성을 연구하기에 앞서 구조물 제작시 필연적으로 대두되는 원공이 있는 적층판의 기 제시된 몇 가지 파괴해석 모델을 고찰하고, 파괴특성을 알아 보았다. 또한, 원공이 있는 단일방향 복합재료와 $[{\pm}45^{\circ}]2s,\;[0^{\circ}/90^{\circ}]2s,\;[{\pm}45^{\circ}/0^{\circ}/90^{\circ}]s$ 적층판의 시편실험 결과를 이용, 특성길이를 계산하여 파손강도를 예측하고자 했다. AE(Acoustic Emission) 실험평가는 주로 손상의 발생과 거동을 추적하여 파손과정을 평가하는 방법으로 사용했고 Ultrasonic 시험법은 초기 손상검출, 손상 영역의 크기를 규명하고자 했다.

조임 및 풀림 해석을 이용한 나사산 형상 설계 (Thread Shape Design Using Joining and Release Analysis of Bolts)

  • As the sizes of mobile phones and watch phones decrease, the joining bolt for the products should also be decreased to a miniature size. However, the miniature-sized bolt has to support sufficient joining and anti-releasing torque to keep the product fastened. In this study, the thread shapes are designed to improve anti-releasing performance of bolts. Especially, when bolt materials is stronger than nut materials, the design of thread shapes is needed, like bolt for wood, to improve the fastening capability. Through the joining and releasing analyses of bolts, the thread shapes for SUS302 bolt and Mg alloy nut are newly designed. It was shown that the newly designed bolt has 20 % higher anti-releasing torque and 35% lower torque loosening slope compared to the standard bolt.

항공기용 카본/에폭시 비행조종 장치의 기계적 특성에 관한 연구 (Mechanical Characteristics of Carbon/Epoxy Composite for Aircraft Control System)

  • 항공기 비행조종장치의 설계와 구조해석을 위해 카본/에폭시 복합재 적층판에 대한 설계개발시험을 수행하였다. 설계개발시험으로 수분흡수시험, 인장, 압축, 베어링, 접합전단시험을 수행하였다. 수분흡수시험을 수행하여 섬유배양에 따른 흡습거동을 관찰하고, 무흡습과 고온·고습하에서의 기계적 특성치를 비교하였다. 인장시험에서는 복합재의 파손에 영향을 미치는 표면 긁힘, 충격 등의 운용손상 요인을 적용하였고, 베어링시험에서는 볼트의 종류와 결합형태를 달리하여 베어링강도를 비교하였다. 설계개발시험을 통해 환경하중배가계수 및 설계허용치를 획득하였으며, 이를 비행조종장치 구조물의 인증시험에 대한 설계변수로 사용하였다.
