TGO 성장을 고려한 열차폐코팅의 내구성평가 (Durability Evaluation of Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) According to Growth of Thermally Grown Oxide (TGO))

  • 가스터빈에 적용되는 열차폐코팅은 가동 중 반복적인 열피로에 의하여 파손되므로, 열차폐코팅의 내구성평가가 필요하다. 고온 환경에 노출된 열차폐코팅의 내부에는 열생성산화물(TGO)이 성장하게 되는데, 이러한 열생성산화물(TGO)의 성장은 열차폐코팅의 주요 파손 원인으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 TGO의 성장을 고려한 열차폐코팅의 내구성평가는 반드시 선행되어야 하는 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 김대진등의 연구 결과로부터 열화시간에 따른 TGO 성장을 고려하여 유한요소해석을 수행하였으며, 이로부터 응력과 열화시간 사이의 관계를 도출하였다. 또한 열화시간에 따른 유한요소해석 결과와 김대진 등의 접착강도 시험 결과의 비교를 통하여 열차폐코팅의 내구성을 평가하였다.

  • Recently, extensive studies have been carried out to enhance various performance aspects such as the durability, lifespan, and hardness by combining diverse materials or developing novel materials. The utilization of superhydrophobic surfaces, particularly in the automotive, textile, and medical device industries, has gained momentum to achieve improved performance and efficiency. Superhydrophobicity refers to a surface state where the contact angle when water droplets fall is above 150°, while the contact angle during sliding motion is smaller than 10°. Superhydrophobic surfaces offer the advantage of water droplets not easily sliding off, maintaining a cleaner state as the droplets leave the surface. Surface modification involves two fundamental steps to achieve superhydrophobicity: surface roughness increase and surface energy reduction. However, existing methods, such as time-consuming processes and toxic organic precursors, still face challenges. In this study, we propose a method for superhydrophobic surface modification using lasers, aiming to create roughness in micro/nanostructures, ensuring durability while improving the production time and ease of fabrication. The mechanical durability of superhydrophobic samples treated with lasers is comparatively evaluated against chemical etching samples. The experimental results demonstrate superior mechanical durability through the laser treatment. Therefore, this research provides an effective and practical approach to superhydrophobic surface modification, highlighting the utility of laser treatment.

대형 트럭용 경량 알루미늄 I형 래디어스 로드 개발 (Development of Lightweight Aluminum I Type Radius Rod for Heavy Trucks)

  • An aluminum radius rod using rheo-forging method has been developed for heavy commercial vehicles to decrease vehicle unsprung weight. To design the shape of the rod, structural simulations are performed using two load cases. To evaluate durability performance of the rods, a test system which has simultaneous 3 axes actuating system is developed. And 3 axes durability test conditions are established based on vehicle field tests. Using the test systems and the conditions, the durability test is carried out and the rods have passed the test conditions of 700,000 cycles. The weight of a developed aluminum radius rod is 4.2kg and it was drastically reduced by 48.8 percent in comparison with the weight of a steel radius rod.

해저매설형 음향센서 시스템의 내구성 검증 방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on Durability Verification of Seabed-Mounted Acoustic Sensor System)

  • 본 논문에서는 해저매설형 음향센서 시스템의 기계적 내구성을 검증하기 위한 시험 규격을 수립하고 관련 시험을 수행하였다. 음향센서 시스템은 고가의 설치 비용으로 인하여 설치 이후에 높은 신뢰성이 요구되며, 매설 장비와의 기계적 연동 중에 다양한 복합 하중이 작용하므로 높은 내구성을 갖는 설계가 요구된다. 따라서, 이러한 설계 조건을 만족하는지에 대하여 시험 규격을 수립하고 검증하는 과정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 UJ QTS 200 규격 기반으로 내구성 시험을 수행하여, 전기적인 특성에 대한 대부분의 시험 기준을 만족함을 확인하였다.

커먼레일을 이용한 디젤과 BD20 연료가 인젝터에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Injector Durability Test with Diesel and BD20 Using Common Rail)

  • The characteristics of diesel and biodiesel are similar like as cetane number and auto-ignition temperature. High cetane number of diesel and BD could make possible to compression ignition. but BD showed different atomization from diesel due to component like density, viscosity and iodine value etc. Because of this, the biodiesel requires validation. This study using diesel and BD20 investigated effect to durability injector. Durability test were used common rail and bosch solenoid type 5-hole injector. Total test was 672hr but actual running time was 200hr. Spray experiments for spray characteristics were carried out using constant volume combustion chamber. Spray characteristics of diesel and BD showed different result up to durability test time. After 100hr, diesel showed spray shapes were stable but BD was not. After 200hr, difference of diesel and BD spray shapes were grow serious.

Influence of supplementary cementitious materials on strength and durability characteristics of concrete

  • The present study is focused on the mechanical and durability properties of ternary blended cement concrete mix of different grades 30 MPa, 50 MPa and 70 MPa. Three mineral admixtures (fly ash, silica fume and lime sludge) were used as a partial replacement of cement in the preparation of blended concrete mix. The durability of ternary blended cement concrete mix was studied by exposing it to acids HCl and $H_2SO_4$ at 5% concentration. Acid mass loss factors (AMLF), acid strength loss factor (ASLF) and acid durability factor (ADF) were determined, and the results were compared with the control mix. Chloride ions penetration was investigated by conducting rapid chlorination penetration test and accelerated corrosion penetration test on control mix and ternary blended cement concrete. From the results, it was evident that the usage of these mineral admixtures is having a beneficiary role on the strength as well as durability properties. The results inferred that the utilization of these materials as a partial replacement of cement have significantly enhanced the compressive strength of blended concrete mix in 30 MPa, 50 MPa and 70 MPa by 42.95%, 32.48% and 22.79%. The blended concrete mix shown greater resistance to acid attack compared to control mix concrete. Chloride ion ingress of the blended cement concrete mix was low compared to control mix implying the beneficiary role of mineral admixtures.

가속내구시험 마모영역 판별에 대한 이미지 분석 연구 (A Study on Image Analysis for Determination of Wear Area in Accelerated Durability Test)

  • In the product development process, the reliability of the product can be secured through durability tests. However, since the durability test method is expensive and time consuming, a method to save time and money by utilizing virtual product development (VPD) is required. However, research on the accuracy of the results of virtual product development is required. In this paper, an accelerated durability test was designed and conducted using a planetary gear decelerator. And an analysis model under the same conditions was created and simulated. To correlate the results of the experiment with the results of the analytical model, created a model that can discriminate the wear region using one of the data mining methods, the k-means algorithm method and HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value). The wear area is compared by counting the number of pixels defined as wear through a discrimination model. A similar ratio was calculated by comparing the pixel ratio of the area determined as wear in the entire area. It showed a similar ratio of about 70%, and it is necessary to improve the discrimination method.

파워스티어링 오일펌프용 풀리의 피로수명을 고려한 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization Considering Fatigue Life of Pulley in Power-Steering Pulley)

  • The pulley is one of core mechanical elements in the power steering system for vehicles. The pulley operates under both the compressive loading and the torque. Therefore, to assure the safety of the power steering system, it is very important to investigate the durability and the optimization of the pulley. In this study, the applied stress distribution of the pulley under high tension and torsion loads was obtained by using finite element analysis. Based on these results the fatigue life of the pulley with the variation of the fatigue strength was evaluated by a durability analysis simulator. The results at 50% and 1% for the failure probability were compared with respect to the fatigue life. In addition to the optimum design for the fatigue life is obtained by the response surface method. The response function utilizes the function of the life and weight factors. Within range for design life condition the minimization of the weight, one of the formulation, is obtained by the optimal design. Moreover the optimum design by considering its durability and validity is verified by the durability test.

사이드 스러스터 설계 및 성능평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Performance Test of Side Thruster)

  • In this paper, we present a study concerning the design of a 400 N class side thruster for small ships. The side thrusters used in Korea are imported from abroad. The performance and durability of the imported products employed in Korea are not adequate, therefore the side thrusters which will be suitable for Korean domestic needs to be re-designed. The strength calculation of the side thruster was performed by KS standard. Strength calculation and design were made to meet design requirements. Structural analysis and safety factor analysis were carried out to confirm the validity of strength calculations and design. After manufacturing the bevel gear, a back lash test was conducted. We also conducted a no-load test, a rated load, and an overload test for a performance test and a durability test of the design while satisfying the design conditions.

COMPUTATIONAL DURABILITY PREDICTION OF BODY STRUCTURES IN PROTOTYPE VEHICLES

  • Durability estimation of a prototype vehicle has traditionally relied heavily on accelerated durability tests using predefined proving grounds or rig tests using a road simulator. By use of those tests, it is very difficult to predict durability failures in actual service environments. This motivated the development of an integrated CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) methodology for the durability estimation of a prototype vehicle in actual service environments. Since expensive computational costs such as computation time and hardware resources are required for a full vehicle simulation in those environments with a very long span of event time, the conventional CAE methodologies have little feasibility. An efficient computational methodology for durability estimations is applied with theoretical developments. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is shown by the comparison of results of the typical actual service environment such as the city mode with those of the typical accelerated durability test over the Belgian road.
