OMM 시스템의 측정오차 원인분석 및 대책 (The Error Source Analysis of Measuring Data of OMM System)

  • This paper describes the analysis of measuring error of on the machine measuring(OMM) system which can directly measure the three dimensional machined free surface dimension using scanning probe on milling machine. 21 inch TV shadow mask mould was measured using PTP(point to point)measurement algorithm at pallet clamped and unclamped state on OMM system, and using coordinate measuring machine(CMM) one after another. The OMM system was evaluated probe error, stylus contact error, center shift error, repeatability and so on. Consequencely, the conclusion derived that elastic displacement of pallet had effect on measuring error mainly, and pallet design and setup method would be important.

  • In recent years, it has been variously developed for testing the accuracy of circular motion of NC machine tools, for example Telescoping Ball Bar Method by Bryan, Circular test Method by Knapp and $r^{-{\theta} }$ Method by Tsutsumi etc., but these methods are all 2-dimentional measuring methods on plane. These simple methods of circular motion accuracy test of NC machine tools have been studied by many reserchers as above, but it is not yet settled in the code of measuring methods of motion errors of NC machine tools, because of errors of measuring units and sensors, and also especially the difficulties of centering of measuring units and the spindle of machining center. In this paper, in use of 2 rotary encoders and 1 magnetic type linear scale with resolution of 0.5 .mu. m, it has become possible for measuring of 3 dimentional space motion accuracy.

  • Thermal deformation causes large amount of machine tool errors. In order to compensate for thermal and geometric errors of the machine tool an off-line geometric adaptive control (GAC) scheme was developed. THe GAC method was realized by using a measuring plate made of precision spheres. Error vectors and volumetric errors were measured by the measuring plate. Error compensation models were obtained from error vectors and a kinematic chain of machine tools. Reliability of the GAC system of thermal and geometric errors were confrimed by large amount of experiments.

  • This paper describes the development of on-the-machine measuring(OMM) system which can directly measure the two and three dimensional machined accuracy using a scanning probe in milling machine. Two algorithms, NC program based continuous path(CP) measurement and CAD data assisted point to point(PTP) measurement, are developed for three dimensional measurements, with consideration of the characteristics of the scanning probe. The algorithms are used to develop an auto measuring system. The delveloped system is compared with the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) in terms of accuracy and repeatability. The OMM system is expected to realize measurement time reduction and hence result in high productivity.

  • Design methodology of Interactuve Measuring Part Program Generating Tools(IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC was described in this paper. Measuring G codes have been designed according to probe ste up, basic and applied inspection items by using measuring arguments. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. Using the developed measuring G code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in precision FMS lines.

  • These days, the aerospace industry uses larger machining parts and assembly parts than those in the past. The assembly machines also show the same trend. This study is concerned with the alignment measuring apparatus for the B-axis of a separated multi-axis machine. The alignment measuring apparatus is widely installed for assembly machines in the aircraft assembly process. The alignment measuring apparatus consists of a swivel part and a measuring part. This is a new conceptual idea under patent. All elements of the alignment measuring apparatus are analyzed with the FEM. The analyzed result shows that the alignment measuring apparatus is high in accuracy with stability and steady deformation.

  • In this study on machine measuring system based on solid feature was developed. This system was applied with injection mold using 3 dimensional solid modeler for verification. Developed program include pre-processor, main processor, and post processor. In pre-processor there are functions which check intersection, simulate motion of probe and calculate measuring time. Main processor generates measuring path and output NC code in Unigraphics. In post-processor functions that include evaluation of undercut or overcut and display of measuring procedure are offered. In addition analysis module for quality control of measured data on manufactured product was developed with geometric and dimensional tolerance concept. As the result developed program could get stability of system, precision of product, rapidity and cost down of manufacturing process compared with before measuring process.

  • On-machine automatic measuring software from 3-D solid modeler is generally applied to assess the functional performance of a final produce for computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Automatic measuring software may also be performed on individual components of CNC machine in which some functional aspect of the component must be examined and cannot be implicity determined by means of a mechanical inspection. The manufacturing specialist, combined with the appropriate software simulation, can not only create the commands to drive the virtual measuring but also can check for mistakes by viewing the computer graphics simulation of the tool cutting sequence.

  • With the increasing demand for higher production quality and growing competition in the global market, coordinate measuring machine(CMM) has been widely used in industry to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of measurement. In this paper the performance evaluation of coordinate measuring machine is proposed using design of experiments. A factorial design is applied to carry out the performance test proposed by ISO 10360 with a length bar and to investigate CMM measurement errors associated to orientation and length in the work volume. The determination of the significance of effects in an experiment is made through the analysis of variance(ANOVA). The results show that the proposed method is suitable to analyze the factors which affect the CMM measurement performance.
