NC 공작기계용 지능형 측정 및 검사시스템 (An Intelligent Measuring and Inspection System for NC Machine Tools)

  • Interactive measuring Part Program Generating Tools (IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC were developed for intelligent measuring and inspection systems on the machine tools. Machine tools. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. In order to automate measurement and inspection procedures in machine shops, measuring G Code system was also proposed. Using the developed measuring G Code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in FMS lines.

  • Design methodology of Interactive Measuring Part Program Generating Tools(IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC was described in this paper. Measuring G codes were designed according to geometric form, precision attributes, relations between parts, datum hierarchies, and relevant technological data by using measuring arguments. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. Using the developed measuring G code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in precision FMS lines.

  • The gains fur NC controller parameter are fixed when the controller is combined with a machine. However, the characteristics of controller could be changed as it has being used by the machine or other environmental conditions. Those result in that the tool positioning accuracy is influenced. The loading torque in servo motor influences on the tool positioning accuracy and it is controlled by the parameter gains. It is required to analyze the torque variation with angular positioning accuracy of the servo motor. This study focus on a measuring method and device for verifying angular positioning accuracy of NC servo motor. We used a high resolution An converter for acquiring analogue signal of rotary encoder in servo motor. The positional accuracy for a nominal tool path, which is generated by the combination of axial movements (X,Y,Z), is analyzed with the servo motor torque. The current variation signal is acquired at the power line using a hall sensor and converted to the loading torque of servo motor. The method of measurement and analysis proposed in this study will be used for determining the gains of parameter in NC controller. This gain tuning is also necessary when the controller is set up at a machine.

Detecting the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations in the N-point Spatial Statistics of SDSS Galaxies

  • Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) are caused by acoustic density waves in the early universe and act as a standard ruler in the clustering pattern of galaxies in the late Universe. Measuring the BAO feature in the 2-point correlation function of a sample of galaxies allows us to estimate cosmological distances to the galaxies mean redshift, , which is important for testing and constraining the cosmology model. The BAO feature is also expected to appear in the higher order statistics. In this work we measure the generalized spatial N-point point correlation functions up to 4th order. We made measurements of the 2, 3, and 4-point correlation functions in the SDSS-III DR12 CMASS data, comprising of 777,202 galaxies. The errors and covariances matrices were estimated from 500 mock catalogues. We created a theoretical model for these statistics by measuring the N-point functions in halo catalogues produced by the approximate Lagrangian perturbation theory based simulation code, PINOCCHIO. We created simulations using initial conditions with and without the BAO feature. We find that the BAO is detected to high significance up to the 4-point correlation function.

Wilson-Bappu effect : an indicator of stellar surface gravity

  • Wilson and Bappu (1957), for the first time, and other precedent studies (Lutz & Kelker 1975; Pasquini et al. 1988; Dupree & Smith 1995; Wallerwstein et al. 1999; Pace et al. 2003) found a tight correlation (called Wilson-Bappu relationship - WBR) between stellar absolute visual magnitude and the width of the Ca II K line emission feature for late type stars. Here we re-visit WBR to claim that WBR can be an excellent indicator of stellar surface gravity of late type stars as well as a good indicator of distance. We have analyzed 103 high-resolution spectra of G, K and M type stars obtained by UVES and BOES by following the method by Pace et al. (2003) for measuring the widths of Ca II K lines(W). WBR found in our samples is Mv=33.26-17.79logW and the correlation is very tight. In this study, the stellar gravity(log g) has been derived using Kurucz ALAS9 model grid and MOOG code, which can determine $T_{eff}$ and [M/H] too.

반복 복호 횟수 감소를 통한 저전력 LDPC 복호기 설계 (Design of a Low-Power LDPC Decoder by Reducing Decoding Iterations)

  • LDPC 부호는 4G 이동통신 시스템에 적합한 오류 정정 부호이다. 그러나 알고리듬의 특성상 좋은 BER 성능을 위해서는 반복 복호에 의한 많은 연산량이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 복호지연과 전력 소모에 대한 복호기의 성능을 증가시키기 위하여 반복 복호 횟수를 줄이는 알고리듬에 대하여 제안한다. 제안된 알고리듬은 현재 LLR 복호값과 이전 LLR 복호값 사이의 변화를 측정하고 변화 방향을 예측하며, 패리티 검사식을 만족시켜 수렴속도를 높이도록 LLR 값의 sign 비트를 반전시킨다. 실험결과, 제안한 방법은 BER 성능의 감소 없이 반복 복호 횟수를 약 33% 정도 줄이는 것이 가능하며 감소된 반복 복호 횟수에 비례하여 소모 전력도 감소시킬 수 있다.

  • In general, the swing motion of the crane is controlled and suppressed by activating the trolley motion. In many papers reported by us, we suggested a new type of anti-sway control system of the crane. In the proposed control system, a small auxiliary mass(moving-mass) is installed on the spreader and the swing motion is controlled by moving the auxiliary mass. The actuator reaction against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container in order to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. The measuring system is based on laser sensor or others. However it is not so useful in real world. Especially, in this paper, the image sensor is used to measures the motions of the spreader and the measured data are fed back to the controller in real time. The applied image processing technique is a kind of robust template matching method which is named Vector Code Correlation (VCC) and devised to consider the real environmental conditions. And the $H_{\infty}$ based control technique is applied to suppress swing motion of the crane. And the experimental result shows that the proposed measurement system based on image sensor and control system is useful and robust to disturbances.

자유 곡면 생성을 통한 역공학 적용에 관한 연구 (Study on Application of Reverse Engineering by Generation of the Free-Form Surface)

  • Reverse engineering has been widely used for the shape reconstruction of an object without CAD data and the measurement of clay or wood models fur the development of new products. To generate a surface from measured points by a laser scanner, typical steps include the scanning of a clay or wood model, the generation of compatible input curves, the generation of a surface and manufacturing data like G code or STL file. A laser scanner has a great potential to get geometrical data of a model for its frost measuring speed and higher precision. The data from a laser scanner are composed of many line stripes of points including small spikes and noise. A new approach using automated surface generating algorithm is introduced to deal with problems during reverse engineering process. And the input data and the generated surface are represented in IGES format, thus can be supplied to other CAD/CAM software without any data manipulation.
