A Study on the Methodology for Determining Dynamic Loadings of Automotive Suspension System Using Measurement and Modeling

  • To design suspension system and estimate its durability , the loading history of each suspension part exposed to various operation conditions should be known from either measurement or computations. Based on these results, stress analysis is carried out to obtain the optimal shape and to reduce the production cost through the proper selection of manufacturing process. In this paper, first the measurement of 3-directional accelerations of wheel center using an accelerometer are undertaken from a vehicle running on Belgian road. Then the data measured from experiments are pre-processed with filtering . Based on the pre-processed data the methodology for determining the dynamic loading to each suspension part is developed by simply modeling the suspension system with ADAMS software. Eventually , it is expected that dynamic loadings can be used for the dynamic stress and fatigue analyses.

  • An O-mode Ultrashort Pulse Reflectometry (USPR) system has been designed and developed for the measurement of electron density profiles on the Sustained Spheromak Physics Experiment (SSPX) spheromak. In the original design of SSPX, peak densities were envisioned to be in the range of 0.5-3${\times}$10$^{14}$ cm$^{-3}$ . The total duration of formation and sustained discharges is typically ∼2 msec. Moreover, diagnostic access on SSPX is severely restricted. Such high density and short duration plasmas coupled with stringent diagnostic access are quite challenging for conventional reflectometer systems. In USPR, the SSPX diagnostic requirements have been successfully satisfied by employing up-converting mixers and monostatic horn/waveguide configuration. As a result, the USPR system has proven its applicability for the density measurement of a future fusion device. In the density profile measurements, the USPR system is capable of routinely generating density profiles with a temporal resolution of 57 $\mu$s. This paper presents details regarding the USPR fundamental principles, associated subsystems and laboratory tests as well as the experimental results obtained on SSPX

  • Generally, in the best-known Pulse-type type and Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave(FM/CW)-type RF range measurement systems, the nearest measurable distance between antenna of system and targets is limited to several tens of meters. Moreover, in case of high-speed targets it is more difficult to measure the distance precisely. In this paper we design our own RF(X-band) range(up to 15 meters) measurement system usi code correlation for high- speed targets. It 0 the correlation value between transmitting receiving PN (Pseudo -Noise) codes. So we determine the distance between antenna of s and targets using this correlation value.   • 전력계통 실시간 제어에서는 전압, 전류, 유효전력, 무효전력, 역률, 시스템 주파수 등 전력계통 변수들을 측정하는 것이 중요하다. 이 변수들은 전압과 전류의 동기화된 페이저 정보부터 추출할 수 있다. 따라서 전압 및 전류의 동기화된 페이저 측정은 실시간 전력계통 제어에서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 이런 이유로 동기위상측정장치가 개발되었고 본 논문에서는 동기위상측정장치의 설계와 구현한 것을 제시하였고 제작된 시작품을 RTDS(Real-time Digital Simulator)와 실험실에 있는 380 V 3상 배전계통에 적용하여 측정된 실험결과를 통해 개발된 시작품의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents an ultra-low partial discharge(PD) measurement system that has been accepted as a non-destructive method to estimate electrical insulation of low-voltage electric devices. The PD measurement system is composed of a coupling network, a low noise amplifier, and associated electronics. A shielding box is used to make a better condition against electromagnetic interference. A low cut-off frequency of the coupling network was 1MHz(-3 dB). Calibration tests on laboratory set-up have shown that the PD measurement system has a stable sensitivity of 11.4mV/pC. In an application experiment on a low-voltage induction motor(5HP), we could detect 0.77pC level of partial discharge pulse at the applied voltage of AC 664 V$_{peak}$.

  • Recently, as custom-made demand about female underwear is increased, securing of a various dimension system is urgent, and satisfaction of each customer cannot be heightened with established dimensions. If we could measure shape of a living body with a fast and simple method, the custom-made demand of customers could be satisfied in the underwear as well as a clothing industry by using the method. One of the alternatives is shape measurement of the living body by a Moire fringe method. If we put a grating in front of an object to be measured and illuminate light, a Moire fringe with contour line shape is generated in the object, so we can conveniently measure object shape without touching directly by using the pattern. The Moire fringe and three-dimensional shape of the breast of the living body was acquired by a PMP method using a polygon mirror, and height and bottom width of the breast of the living body were measured by using obtained data in this study. Data of breast shape measurement through a mannequin was collected in a previous step as basic material for measuring the breast shape measurement of the living body. Three women in the twenties were selected as one of methods for measuring breast shape of a woman. As a result of the breast shape measurement of a living body A, it was measured that height of the breast was about 67.24mm and the bottom width was $13781.60mm^2$. This study is expected to contribute for collecting basic data of a female underwear industry and establishing a specification of a dimension system.

  • In the 21st century, the concept of remote design and manufacture is strongly required in manufacturing processes to reduce cost and time-to-market. The objective of this paper is the development of an internet-based dimensional verification system for reverse engineering. An inspection client can register measurement data at the developed web server. Collaborators related to the development of a new product can confirm geometrical form from measurement data, check dimensional information and mark up the important parts, as well as make a statement of their views through the Internet. The developed system is realized through the ActiveX-Server architecture. Functions of the dimensional verification module are constructed as ActiveX by using the visual C++ and OpenGL. The usefulness of the developed system is confirmed through a case study.

  • In this paper, the FFT processor for power measurement using VHDL (Very high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language) is discussed. The proposed system relies on the FFT algorithm to compute real and reactive power. The advantage of system is that harmonic analysis is carried out on a period of the Input signal. The proposed system is based on FFT Processor which is designed using VHDL. In the design of FFT processor, $radix-2^2$ is adopted to reduce several complex multipliers for twiddle factor. And this processor adopt pipeline structure. Therefore, the system Is able to have both high hardware efficiency and high performance.

Design of Adaptive Fuzzy IMM Algorithm for Tracking the Maneuvering Target with Time-varying Measurement Noise

  • In real system application, the interacting multiple model (IMM) based algorithm operates with the following problems: it requires less computing resources as well as a good performance with respect to the various target maneuvering, it requires a robust performance with respect to the time-varying measurement noise, and further, it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy interacting multiple model (AFIMM) algorithm, which is based on the basis sub-models defined by considering the maneuvering property and the time-varying mode transition probabilities designed by using the mode probabilities as the inputs of the fuzzy decision maker whose widths are adjusted, is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a radar target tracking is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed AFIMM algorithm solves all problems in the real system application of the IMM based algorithm.

  • 최근 조직의 성과평가 또는 개인의 성과평가를 위한 시스템이 많이 도입되고 있다. 특히 중소 제조업의 성과평가를 위한 BSC활용이 확산되고 있다. 그러나 성과평가시스템이 전문가에 의해 설계되고 구축되어야하지만 중소기업의 자금 부족으로 인해 소프트웨어 기업에서 판매하는 소프트웨어에 의존하여 실시하고 있다. 그렇지만 성과측정의 가장 중요한 것은 객관성이다. 따라서 효과적인 성과측정을 위해서는 측정하고자 하는 성과지표가 잘 설계되어야한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 중소기업 중에서 제조업종을 영위하는 기업을 대상으로 성과평가를 하기위해 기준으로 삼을 수 있는 성과측정지표를 제시하였다. 연구 결과로 관리부서, 생산부서, 연구부서의 기준으로 제시되는 성과측정 지표가 매우 유효했음을 통계적으로 검증할 수 있었다.
