병원간호사의 근무형태와 주간수면과다증에 따른 직무몰입 (A Study on Job Involvement according to Working Pattern and Daytime Sleepiness among Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine job involvement according to working pattern and daytime sleepiness in hospital nurses. Methods: At 2 hospitals in affiliation of university, after obtaining participant's consent form, data were collected from October to November, 2007. Twohundred fifty nurses participated in the study. Questionnaire consisted of Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Job Involvement. Collected data was analyzed with SPSS 14.0 program, which was used for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Major findings of this study were as follows 1) The nurses for 3 shift work was 172 (68.8%), the nurses for 2 shift work was 3 (1.2%) and the nurses for day fixation was 75 (30.0%). 2) Mean of ESS was 5.94 (3.28), daytime sleepiness was 13.2% and Job involvement had a mean of $21.27.{\pm}4.61.3$) There were significant differences between shift work and day fixed work on ESS (t=4.33, p<.001), job involvement (t=6.54, p<.001). Higher ESS were significantly related to lower job involvement (r=-.185, p=.003). Conclusion: The finding of this study gives useful informations about sleep and work involvement of hospital nurses. It is need to develop systemic management for shift work nurses by hospital, nurse organization, and government.

여러 개의 문턱값을 이용한 Optical CDMA 부호 획득 알고리즘 (An Optical CDMA Code Acquisition Algorithm Using Multiple Thresholds)

  • 본 논문에서는 optical orthogonal code를 (OOC) 사용하는 optical 부호 분할 다중 접속 (code division multiple access: CDMA) 시스템에 알맞은 부호 획득 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 부호 획득 알고리즘의 평균 부호 획득 시간이 (mean acquisition time: MAT) 짧을수록 알고리즘의 성능이 뛰어나다고 말할 수 있다 기존의 Multiple-shift (MS) 알고리즘은 부호 획득을 두 단계로 나누어 수행함으로써, serial-search (SS) 알고리즘에 비해 빠른 부호 획득이 가능하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 enhanced multiple-shift (EMS) 알고리즘은 기존의 MS 알고리즘과는 달리 여러 개의 문턱값을 씀으로써 MS 알고리즘에 비해 더 짧은 MAT를 갖는다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 EMS 알고리즘의 MAT 성능을 MS 알고리즘의 MAT 성능과 비교해 본 결과, 단일 사용자 환경 및 다중사용자 환경 모두에서 EMS 알고리즘이 MS 알고리즘에 비해 더 짧은 MAT를 갖는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

교대 근무 간호사와 비교대 근무 간호사의 건강증진행위 및 정신건강이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Health Promoting Behaviors and Mental Health Status of Shift and Non-Shift Nurses on Quality of Life)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare and contrast health promoting behaviors, mental health, and quality of life between shift nurses and non-shift nurses and to evaluate factors influencing their quality of life. Method: Data were collected by questionnaires from 113 non-shift nurses and 265 shift nurses who had been working at one of five hospitals in Incheon for more than one year. Descriptive statistics, ANCOVA, logistic regression, and multiple regression were used in performance of data analysis. Results: For shift nurses' mean total scores for health promoting behaviors and quality of life were significantly lower than those for non-shift nurses'(p<.05). Result of logistic regression analyses indicated that marital status (OR=2.092, 95%CI=1.174-3.729) and quality of life (OR=3.397, 95%CI=1.694-6.812) were significant between shift nurses and non-shift nurses. Non-shift work, low stress, provision of health-welfare programs, high score for health promoting behavior, and good mental health status showed an association with better quality of life (explained 48.3% of variance). Conclusion: Educational, policy, and regulatory approaches are required in order to improve mental health and quality of life for nurses, which may be influenced by their unhealthy behaviors such as irregular dietary patterns, while provision of counseling programs may be helpful to enhancement of nurses' mental health.

순환교대근무 간호사의 일주기유형에 따른 근무조별 수면시간, 사회적 시차, 주관적 수면장애 비교 (Comparison of Sleep Duration, Social Jetlag, and Subjective Sleep Disturbance in Rotating Shift Nurses According to the Chronotype)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the sleep duration, social jetlag (SJL), and subjective sleep disturbance according to the individual chronotype in rotating shift nurses. Methods: A total of 344 rotating 3-shift nurses (mean age 28.67 years) were recruited at one university affiliated hospital. They completed the following questionnaires, which were used to assess their chronotype and sleep: the morningness-eveningness questionnaire (MEQ), self-reported sleep duration of work days (SDWshift) and free days (SDFshift) in each shift (day [D], evening [E], night [N]), and sleep disturbance (Insomnia severity index, ISI). SJLshift was calculated as the difference in midsleep (MS=sleep onset+1/2 sleep duration) between work days (MSW) and free days (MSF). Results: Subjects were divided into 3 chronotype groups according to the MEQ; morning (MG, 4.4%) intermediate (IG, 57.8%), and evening groups (EG, 37.8%). SDWD was shortest (4.68 hr) and SDFE was longest (8.93 hr) in the EG. SJLD was longest in the EG (3.77 hr), and SJLN was longest in the MG (7.37 hr). The prevalence of sleep disturbance was 33.3% (MG), 29.6% (IG), and 40.0% (EG), respectively, without any statistical significance. Conclusion: In order to improve the sleep of shift workers, it is recommended that the evening chronotypes should reduce the day shifts and the morning chronotypes should reduce the night shifts. We also propose a study to determine whether these shift assignments can improve the sleep in shift nurses.

이부교대(二部交代) 근무제도(勤務制度)에 대한 임상간호사(臨床看護師)의 요구도(要求度)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Need of Clinical Nurses about the System of 12-Hour Work Shift)

  • The 12-hour work shift can be influenced on the nurse's job satisfaction, effective personnel administration, and quality of patient care. The purpose of this study was to explore the perception on the 12-hour work shift by nurses. A total of 516 nurses were selected by convenience sampling from six general hospitals in Seoul. Based on the literature review, the questionnaire on the need of the 12-hour work shift was designed by the investigator. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Duncan's method as post-hoc test. The results of this study are as follows ; 1. The need of 12-hour work shift The mean needs of 12-hour work shift in the nursing practice, psychological, physical, socioeconomic, and environmental perspectives were 3.05, 2.72, 2.66, 3.08, and 4.22. 2. The need of 12-hour work shift by demographic data For the nursing practice, there was a statistically significant relationship between marital status(p=.021), satisfaction on the 8-hour work shift(p=.038), the perception on the 12-hour work shift(p=.001) and the need of 12-hour work shift. For the psychological perspectives, there was a statistically significant relationship between marital status(p=.016), the perception on the 12-hour work shift(p=.0001), and the need of 12-hour work shift. For the physical perspectives, there was a statistically significant relationship between age(p=.002), marital status(p=.005), the number of children(p=.005), the duration of job career(p=.014), the job position(p=.002), the work shift(p=.030), the perception on the 12-hour work shift(p=.0001) and the need of 12-hour work shift. For the socioeconomic perspectives, there was a statistically significant relationship between the job position(0=.002), the work shift(p=.006), the perception of the 12-hour work shift(p=.002) and the need of 12-hour work shift. For the environmental perspectives, there was a statisitically significant relationship between the traffic method(p=.05), the duration of the job career(p=.026), the perception on the 12-hour work shift(p=.309) and the need of 12-hour work shift. 3. The need of 12-hour work shift by the demographic data There was a statistically significant difference between marital status(p=.014), the number of children(p=.038), the job position(p=.007), the work shift(p=.037), and the perception on the 12-hour work shift(p=.0001) for the need of 12-hour work shift.

Estimation of Ocean Current Velocity near Incheon using Radarsat-1 SAR and HF-radar Data

  • This paper presents the results of the ocean surface current velocity estimation using 6 Radarsat-1 SAR images acquired in west coastal area near Incheon. We extracted the surface velocity from SAR images based on the Doppler shift approach in which the azimuth frequency shift is related to the motion of surface target in the radar direction. The Doppler shift was measured by the difference between the Doppler centroid estimated in the range-compressed, azimuth-frequency domain and the nominal Doppler centroid used during the SAR focusing process. The extracted SAR current velocities were statistically compared with the current velocities from the high frequency(HF) radar in terms of averages, standard deviations, and root mean square errors. The problem of the unreliable nominal Doppler centroid for the estimation of the SAR current velocity was corrected by subtracting the difference of averages between SAR and HF-radar current velocities from the SAR current velocity. The corrected SAR current velocity inherits the average of HF-radar data while maintaining high-resolution nature of the original SAR data.

  • 레이저 포인터를 검출하는 과정은 포인터의 위치를 검출하는 과정과 입력된 레이저 포인터의 좌표를 모니터의 좌표로 변환하는 과정으로 나눌 수 있다. 레이저 포인터의 추적에 있어서 다변하는 환경의 영향으로 강건성의 확보가 어렵다. 기존의 추적 방식인 Mean-Shift 알고리즘의 경우에는 계산량이 많아서 실시간으로 입력되는 동영상에는 부적합하다. 반면에 CamShift 알고리즘은 빠른 수행이 가능하여 비디오 영상 및 실시간 영상에 적용하기에 적합하고 배경 변화의 영향을 적게 받는다. 또한 검출하려는 색과 같은 색에 의해서 간섭 받는 현상을 방지할 수 있다. 배경이 복잡한 형태이거나 배경이 동적으로 움직일 때에도 강건한 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 제안된 알고리즘을 실환경에 적용한 결과 검출하고자 하는 물체가 예측 영역을 넘나들거나 또는 화면으로부터 지나치게 멀어지거나 가까워져서 상대적인 크기가 변화할 수 있는 불확실한 변화에도 안정적으로 반응함을 알 수 있었다.

  • We consider the problem of selecting the most profitable initial process mean and length of production cycle for manufacturing processes subject to a constant linear trend during the same cycle that varies after resetting the processes. Assuming that the quality characteristic of interest is normally distributed, the optimum initial process mean and the length of production cycle are jointly obtained by minimizing the expected loss per unit time. We assume that the quality loss function due to the deviation from the target value is quadratic and resetting loss is constant. We consider both cases of symmetric and asymmetric quality loss function. An illustrative example is given and sensitivity analysis performed.

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 및 SC-CP(Single Carrier with Cyclic Prefix) 방식은 문선 분야에서 각기 각광받고 있으며, 두 방식 모두 주파수 영역에서 효율적인 등화를 수행할 수 있는 장점을 지니고 있다. 무선 채널의 도플러 쉬프트 현상이 수반되는 경우 등화기만으로 온전히 왜곡 보상이 여의치 않을 수 있으며, 이에 따라 위상에러 추적회로와 등화기를 연동시켜 성능 향상을 도모할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 평균위상에러의 효과를 기술하였고, 결정지향 방식의 평균위상 에러 추적회로와 proportional 등화기를 연동한 성능을 설계하였다. 아울러 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 시스템의 성능 저하를 최소화하면서 추적회로의 연산 부담을 줄일 수 있음을 제시하였다.

대학병원 근무 간호사의 교대근무가 심리적 변인들에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Shift-Work on Psychological Factors in University Hospital's Nurses.)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the effects of shift-work on psychological factors in university hospital's nurses. Method: The subjects were 276 nurses who have worked in a university hospital and the nurses were questioned with self-reported questionnaire forms. We investigated psychological factors(anxiety, depression, stress and self-esteem), nurses' general characteristics and shift-work. The data was analyzed by using SAS for Windows 9.13. Results: The frequency of nurses with anxiety, depression and high stress were 56.5%, 44.9% and 19.6%, respectively. The mean score of self-esteem was 30.03. Stress was higher in cases of having shift-work. Immediately after doing shift-work, nurses had higher depression and stress, and lower self-esteem scores. After controlling confounding variables, psychological factors affected by shift-work was stress. An upward tendency in anxiety, depression and stress were found in cases of doing shift-work for more than 5 years. Conclusions: It is necessary to develope a program for reducing psychological disturbance at the early times of shift-work and to plan adequate shift-work intervals.
