태풍이 일 최대강수량에 미치는 영향 평가 (Evaluation of the impact of typhoon on daily maximum precipitation)

  • 태풍은 강한 바람과 폭우를 동반하며 매년 한반도에 인명과 재산피해의 원인이 된다. 국내에서 발생한 자연재해 피해에서 태풍이 차지하는 비중이 높다. 태풍의 많은 피해는 폭우에 의해 발생하므로 태풍이 일 최대강수량에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 일 최대강수량은 극치자료로 일반적으로 일반화극단치분포를 따른다. 연구자료로 1976년부터 2016년까지 한반도에 설치된 60개 종관기상관측장비에서 수집된 일강수량, 최대풍속, 평균풍속 자료가 사용되었다. 태풍이 온 기간을 제외한 일강우량 자료와 태풍이 온 기간을 포함한 일강우량 자료로 구분하여 일반화극단치모형에 적합시켰다. 모수추정방법으로 최우추정법과 L-적률추정법이 이용되었다. K-S검정과 $Cram{\acute{e}}r$ von Mises검정을 통해 모형의 적합도를 검정하였다. 추정된 모수를 기반으로 25년, 50년, 100년, 200년 재현수준을 계산하였다. 태풍기간 포함유무에 따른 재현수준을 비교한 결과 태풍은 강릉 인근의 동해안과 울산과 완도 인근의 남해안의 일 최대강수량에 영향을 미친다.

  • Background: After the Fukushima accident, the importance of hazard analysis for extreme external events was raised. Methods: To analyze typhoon-induced hazards, which are one of the significant disasters of East Asian countries, a statistical analysis using the extreme value theory, which is a method for estimating the annual exceedance frequency of a rare event, was conducted for an estimation of the occurrence intervals or hazard levels. For the four meteorological variables, maximum wind speed, instantaneous wind speed, hourly precipitation, and daily precipitation, the parameters of the predictive extreme value theory models were estimated. Results: The 100-year return levels for each variable were predicted using the developed models and compared with previously reported values. It was also found that there exist significant long-term climate changes of wind speed and precipitation. Conclusion: A fragility analysis should be conducted to ensure the safety levels of a nuclear power plant for high levels of wind speed and precipitation, which exceed the results of a previous analysis.

New approach to calculate Weibull parameters and comparison of wind potential of five cities of Pakistan

  • Wind energy can be utilized for the generation of electricity, due to significant wind potential at different parts of the world, some countries have already been generating of electricity through wind. Pakistan is still well behind and has not yet made any appreciable effort for the same. The objective of this work was to add some new strategies to calculate Weibull parameters and assess wind energy potential. A new approach calculates Weibull parameters; we also developed an alternate formula to calculate shape parameters instead of the gamma function. We obtained k (shape parameter) and c (scale parameter) for two-parameter Weibull distribution using five statistical methods for five different cities in Pakistan. Maximum likelihood method, Modified Maximum likelihood Method, Method of Moment, Energy Pattern Method, Empirical Method, and have been to calculate and differentiate the values of (shape parameter) k and (scale parameter) c. The performance of these five methods is estimated using the Goodness-of-Fit Test, including root mean square error, mean absolute bias error, mean absolute percentage error, and chi-square error. The daily 10-minute average values of wind speed data (obtained from energydata.info) of different cities of Pakistan for the year 2016 are used to estimate the Weibull parameters. The study finds that Hyderabad city has the largest wind potential than Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, and Peshawar. Hyderabad and Karachi are two possible sites where wind turbines can produce reasonable electricity.

풍력발전기 드라이브트레인 공진 해석 (Analysis of Resonance for Drive-train in Wind Turbine)

  • This study investigated the problems in current practice of drive-train resonance analysis procedure and suggested solutions. The first problem is the resonance occurrence at the un-identified resonance point by the current practice, as for a solution the force spectrum analysis for each critical force transmitting component was suggested. The second one is the inaccurate estimation of potential resonance point in eigenfrequency analysis because of the non-consideration about the eigenfrequency dependency on rotor-speed, the fine linearization at each rotor speed point all over operational range was proposed to account for the affection. Lastly the insufficient time for resonance activation under run-up simulation condition was recognized as a problem in resonance load increasing analysis, as an alternative, steady state condition was suggested to estimate the maximum load increasing level.

  • 고가공도체의 최대허용전류인 열용량은 일반적으로 IEEE P738 기준에서 주어진 것과 같은 열평형 방정식을 기초로 계산된다. 이 정격은 기온, 풍속, 풍향 및 태양열과 같은 기상조건의 함수로 주어진다. 이러한 기상 파라미터들 중에 풍속은 그 값이 아주 작게 나타날 때 송전용량 결정에 강한 영향을 준다. 따라서 송전용량 모니터시스템에서 사용되는 풍속계 대부분은 낮은 감도와 실속 특성을 가지므로 부정확한 결과가 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 풍속계를 사용하지 않고 가공송전선의 동적송전용량을 결정하기 위한 새로운 방법을 도입한다. 풍속을 2개의 간접도체의 온도로 추정하고 실험을 통하여 추정풍속으로 구한 동적송전용량이 기상모델로 구한 결과와 매우 근접함을 밝혔다.

다양한 지표면 위에서 총체 전달 방법에 의한 대기 난류 플럭스 추정 (Estimation of Atmospheric Turbulent Fluxes by the Bulk Transfer Method over Various Surface)

  • The momentum flux and the sensible heat flux were measured with the scintillometers and ultrasonic anemometers at 6 sites of which surface characteristics like roughness length and zero-displacement are different each other. We estimated the momentum flux and the sensible heat flux based on the bulk transfer method with the drag coefficient and the heat transfer coefficient calculated from the temperature and wind speed at two heights. The variation of bulk transfer coefficients showed a remarkable difference depending on the atmospheric stability which is less influenced by the zero-displacement than the roughness length. The estimated sensible heat fluxes were in good agreement with those measured at 3 m, showing 23.7 $Wm^{-2}$ of the root mean square error that is less than 10% of its maximum. Since the estimated momentum flux is not only effected by drag coefficient but also by wind speed square, the determination of wind speed in the bulk transfer method is critical.

최근 연최대변동풍속의 확률분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Probability distribution of Recent Annal Fluctuating Wind Velocity)

  • 우리나라 전체 재해 60%이상인 태풍과 같은 바람재난으로부터 구조물이나 외장재가 안전과 사용성 측면에서 설계되려면 내풍설계과정에서 기본풍속, 설계속도압, 풍하중 등 많은 파라미터들이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 최근 2003년부터 2012년까지의 10년 동안 년최대풍속이 발생한 날의 풍속으로부터 확률과정과 확률분포, 통계적 성질 등을 알아보기 위하여 8개의 대표지점을 여수, 인천, 서울, 청주, 원주, 대구, 속초, 울릉도로 선정했다. 선정된 각 지점에 대한 최근 10년 동안의 풍속자료는 기상청으로부터 획득했다. 각 지점의 획득한 풍속자료는 우리나라를 직접 통과하면서 영향을 미친 태풍과 통과는 안했지만 간접 영향을 미친 태풍, 년최대순간풍속과 년최대평균퐁속이 같은 날 등을 고려 90개의 앙상블 중 선별된 33개의 모집단에 대한 풍속자료의 확률과정 및 확률분포의 특성을 비교 검토하였다.

A Simple Power Management Scheme with Enhanced Stability for a Solar PV/Wind/Fuel Cell Fed Standalone Hybrid Power Supply using Embedded and Neural Network Controller

  • This paper propose a new power conditioner topology with intelligent power management controller that integrates multiple renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy and fuel cell energy with battery backup to make best use of their operating characteristics and obtain better reliability than that could be obtained by single renewable energy based power supply. The proposed embedded controller is programmed for maintaining a constant voltage at PCC, maximum power point tracking for solar PV panel and WTG and power flow control by regulating the reference currents of the controller on instantaneous basis based on the power delivered by the sources and load demand. Instantaneous variation in reference currents of the controller enhances the controller response as it accommodates the effect of continuously varying solar insolation and wind speed in the power management. The power conditioner uses a battery bank with embedded controller based online SOC estimation and battery charging system to suitably sink or source the input power based on the load demand. The simulation results of the proposed power management system for a standalone solar/WTG/fuel cell fed hybrid power supply with real time solar radiation and wind velocity data collected from solar centre, KEC for a sporadically varying load demand is presented in this paper and the results are encouraging in reliability and stability perspective.

Whole-life wind-induced deflection of insulating glass units

  • Insulating glass units (IGUs) have been widely used in buildings in recent years due to their superior thermal insulation performance. However, because of the panel reciprocating motion and fatigue deterioration of sealants under long-term wind loads, many IGUs have the problem of early failure of watertight properties in real usage. This study aimed to propose a statistical method for wind-induced deflection of IGU panels during the whole life service period, for further precise analysis of the accumulated fatigue damage at the sealed part of the edge bond. By the estimation of the wind occurrence regularity based on wind pressure return period, the events of each wind speed interval during the whole life were obtained for the IGUs at 50m height in Beijing, which are in good agreement with the measured data. Also, the wind-induced deflection analysis method of IGUs based on the formula of airspace coefficient was proposed and verified as an improvement of the original stiffness distribution method with the average relative error compared to the test being about 3% or less. Combining the two methods above, the deformation of the outer and inner panes under wind loads during 30 years was precisely calculated, and the deflection and stress state at selected locations were obtained finally. The results show that the compression displacement at the secondary sealant under the maximum wind pressure is close to 0.3mm (strain 2.5%), and the IGUs are in tens of thousands of times the low amplitude tensile-compression cycle and several times to dozens of times the relatively high amplitude tensile-compression cycle environment. The approach proposed in this paper provides a basis for subsequent studies on the durability of IGUs and the wind-resistant behaviors of curtain wall structures.

인공위성 고도계 해상풍 검증과 해상상태편차와의 관련성 - 이어도, 마라도, 외연도 해상풍 관측치를 중심으로 - (Validation of Sea Surface Wind Speeds from Satellite Altimeters and Relation to Sea State Bias - Focus on Wind Measurements at Ieodo, Marado, Oeyeondo Stations)

  • 해상풍은 장기간동안 인공위성 산란계와 마이크로파 복사계를 주로 활용하여 관측되어왔다. 반면 위성 고도계 산출 풍속 자료의 중요성은 산란계의 탁월한 해상풍 관측 성능으로 인해 거의 부각되지 않았다. 인공위성 고도계 풍속자료는 해수면고도를 산출하기 위한 해상상태편차(sea state bias) 보정항의 입력 자료로서 활용됨에 따라 높은 정확도가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 인공위성 고도계(GFO, Jason-1, Envisat, Jason-2, Cryosat-2, SARAL) 풍속을 검증하고 오차 특성을 분석하기 위하여 이어도 해양과학기지와 마라도, 외연도 해양기상부이의 풍속 자료를 활용하여 2007년 12월부터 2016년 5월까지 총 1504개의 일치점 자료를 생성하였다. 해양실측 풍속에 대한 고도계 풍속은 $1.59m\;s^{-1}$의 평균 제곱근오차와 $-0.35m\;s^{-1}$의 음의 편차를 보였다. 해양실측 풍속에 대한 고도계 해상풍 오차를 분석한 결과 고도계 해상풍은 풍속이 약할 때 과대추정되며 풍속이 강할 때 과소추정되는 특징을 보였다. 위성-실측 자료 간의 거리에 따른 고도계 풍속 오차를 분석한 결과 구간별 오차의 최댓값과 최솟값의 차는 거리에 따라 점차 증가하였다. 고도계 풍속의 정확도 향상을 위하여 분석된 오차 특성을 기반으로 보정식을 유도한 후 고도계 풍속을 보정하였다. 보정 전후의 풍속자료를 활용하여 해상상태편차를 산출하였으며 Jason-1의 해상상태편차에 대한 해상풍 오차 보정의 영향을 확인하였다.
