This study presents an estimation of the strength development of concrete considering the equivalent age using fine particle cement (FC), which is manufactured according to the classification process. Contents and W/B were considered as experimental parameters. The strength considering the equivalent age is gradually increased, and the deviation of the strength according to W/C is increased with decrease of W/C in accordance with the replacement of the fine particle cement. For estimating the apparent activation energy (Ea) considering setting time and blame fineness of cement, Ea of the FC based on setting time is calculated with $27.6{\sim}28.9$ KJ/mol, which is somewhat similar to that of OPC, while by applying Ea based on blame fineness, Ea is increased with increase of FC contents, and is calculated with $40{\sim}56$ KJ/mol. Good agreement is obtained by applying Ea based on setting time, while there was remarkable variation between calculated value and measured value when Ea based on blame fineness. Therefore, it is necessary to add influencing factors in existing Ea to enhance the accuracy of the estimation.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the development of the left mandibular third-molar development with modified Demirjian method and its relation to chronological age. A total of 1653 digital panoramic radiographs of healthy individuals aged between 7 and 23 years who visited Yonsei University Dental hospital were selected. The developmental status of the left mandibular third molars was assessed using dental maturity scoring proposed by Demirjian et al. The mean age of the first appearance of mineralization, complete crown formation, and complete root formation were around 9, 14, 21 years respectively. Statistically significant differences between males and females in the development stage of D and G were revealed that crown formation and root length completion were attained earlier in males than in females. There was significant positive relationship between age and third molar development in both sexes, and new formula was presented to estimate age of children and adolescents based on their developmental stages of third molars. In this study, the use of left mandibular third molar as a developmental marker is appropriate, and age estimation can be attained with dental maturity stage.
Principal aim of this study is to suggest the statistical equation model which can predict an amount of ammonia emission according to the degree of compost maturity during composting livestock manure. Composting process was classified with intial, midterm and final phase based on germination index of compost samples. Total Kjeldahl nitrogen(TKN) and organic matter(OM) were selected as the independent variables available to contribute to ammonia emission from composting pile. Ammonia concentration measured in the samples taken at the intial phase was about 10ppm, sharply increased to 50ppm at the midterm phase, and gradually decreased to about 10ppm. The contents of Total Kjeldahl nitrogen and organic matter through whole composting period were ranged from 0.6 to 1.2% and from 30 to 40%, respectively, were reduced slightly at the midterm phase, but generally showed no constant fluctuation pattern. In estimating ammonia emission with application of the statistical equation model, the coefficients of independent variables at the midterm phase when an average concentration of ammonia was highest showed a relatively high values whereas those at the initial phase when an that of ammonia was lowest indicated a relatively low values. However, no statistical significance was found in the coefficients of independent variables and the equation model. Additionally, the further research, which can include the considerable analysis data with more samples taken than this study, is needed in order to suggest the statistically significant equation model available to predict ammonia emission during composting process.
This paper presents a method to estimate the setting time of concrete using super retarding agent(SRA) and fly ash(FA) under various curing temperature conditions by applying maturity based on equivalent age. To estimate setting time, the equivalent age using apparent activation energy($E_a$) was applied. Increasing SRA content and decreasing curing temperature leads to retard initial and final set markedly. $E_a$ at the initial set and final set obtained by Arrhenius function showed differences in response to mixture type. It is estimated to be from $24{\sim}35KJ/mol$ in all mixtures, which is smaller than that of conventional mixture ranging from $30{\sim}50KJ/mol$. Based on the application of $E_a$ to Freisleben-Hansen and Pederson's equivalent age function, equivalent age is nearly constant, regardless of curing temperature and SRA contents. This implies that the concept of maturity is applicable in estimating the setting time of concrete containing SRA. A high correlation between estimated setting time and measured setting time is observed. Multi-regression model to determine appropriate dosage of SRA reflecting FA contents and equivalent age was provided. Thus, the setting time estimation method studied herein can be applicable to the concrete containing SRA and FA in construction fields.

We reviewed foreign evaluation systems based on the macrobenthic and macroalgal communities and developed a system, composed of a set of ecological indices able to evaluate the functionality (FI, Functional Index; estimation of stability and productivity) and maturity (MI, Maturity Index; comparisons with biological parameters of natural reefs) of artificial reefs by comparing the status in the adjacent natural reefs in Korean coastal waters. The evaluation system was applied to natural and artificial reefs/reef-planned areas (natural reefs), established in the 5 marine ranching areas (Bangnyeong-Daechung, Yeonpyung, Taean, Seocheon and Buan) in the west coast of Korea. The FI ranged between 31.6 (Bangnyeong-Daechung) and 72.5% (Buan) and MI did between 53.1 (Seocheon) and 76.9% (Taean) in average. The evaluation of artificial reefs by the two indices, showed the most appropriate status in Taean. The FI between the adjacent artificial and natural reefs were in significant linear relationship ($r^2=0.83$, p=0.01). This indicated the local status of biological community may be critical in determining the functionality of the artificial reefs. We have suggested an integrative but preliminary evaluation system of artificial reefs in this study. The output from the evaluation system may be utilized as a tool for environment/resource managers or policy makers, responsible for effective use of funds and decision making. Given the importance, we need to use the options to enhance and improve the accuracy as follows: (1) continuous validation of the evaluation system and rescaling the criteria of indicators, (2) vigorous utilization of observation and experience through the application and data accumulation and (3) development and testing of brand-new indicators.
Since the term structure of interest rates (TSIR) has longitudinal data, we should consider as input variables both time left to maturity and time simultaneously to get a more useful and more efficient function estimation. However, since the resulting data set becomes very large, we need to develop a fast and reliable estimation method for large data set. Furthermore, it tends to overestimate TSIR because data are correlated. To solve these problems we propose a mixture of weighted least squares support vector machines. We recognize that the estimate is well smoothed and well explains effects of the third stock market crash in USA through applying the proposed method to the US Treasury bonds data.

To estimate the mesh selectivity of gillnet for ocellate spot skate (Okamejei kenojei), the field tests were carried out 12 times with six different mesh sizes (121.2mm, 137.7mm, 151.5mm, 168.3mm, 178.2mm, 189.4mm) in the coastal waters of Taean, Chungcheongnamdo of Korea, 2010~2011. In the field tests, the total number of species was 31, and that of catch was 1,410 and the total weight was 618,006g. The number and weight of ocellate spot skate which is main target in this study were 1,004 and 434,592g, respectively. The catch in number of ocellate spot skate occupied about 71.2% in total catch. The others of catch species were marbled sole (8.4%), sea raven (4.4%), japanese swimming crab (4.2%) and flatfish (4.1%) and so on. The range of body disk width (DW) of ocellate spot skates which were caught in this study was 15.2~35cm and the mode was 27~29cm. The estimation equation of mesh selectivity using the extended Kitahara's method was expressed as s $(R)=s(DW/m)={\exp}\{(-0.56R^3-1.80R^2+12.96R-9.99)-4.26\}$. The optimum value of DW/m for 1.0 of retention probability in this estimation equation was estimated 1.899 and DW/m was estimated to be 1.194, 1.314, 1.395, 1.461 and 1.520 when the retention probability were 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5, respectively. When applied to the retention probability of 0.5, the optimum mesh size was estimated to be 177.0mm on first maturity disk width 26.9cm of ocellate spot skate.

In this paper, removal times of from from concrete using OPC( Ordinary Portland Cement) and BSC(Blast-furnace Slag cement) are suggested by appling logistic curve, which evaluates the strength development of concrete with maturity. W/B, kinds of cement and curing temperatures are selected as test parameters. According to the results, the estimation of strength development by logistic curve has a good agreement between calculated values. As for the removal time of from suggested in this paper, as W/B increase, curing temperature decrease and BSC in used, removal they times of from are shown to be kept longer. Removal times of from from concrete using OPC suggested in this paper are shorter by about 2~3day than those of standard specifications provided in KCI in the rang of over $20^{\circ}C$, while they takes 4~5 day shorter compared with those of standard specifications Provided in KCI in the range of 10~$20^{\circ}C$. Removal times of from for concrete using OPC are longer than those using BSC by about 1 day.
The drying shrinkage of concrete has a close relation to the water movement. Since the diffusion
process of water in concrete is strongly dependent on the temperature and the pore humidity,
the process is highly nonlinear phenomena. This study consists of two parts. The first is
the development of a finite element program which is capable of simulating the rnoisture distri-
,bution in concrete, and the other is the estimation of the differential drying shrinkage and stress
considering creep by using the modified elastic modulus due to inner temperature change and
maturity. It is shown that the analytical results of this study are in good agreement with experlimental
data in the literatures, and results calculated by BP-KX model. The internal stress
caused by moisture distribution which was resulted from the diffusion process, was calculated
:quantitatively. The tensile stress which occured in the drying outer zone mostly exceeded the
tensile strength of concrete, and necessarily would result in crack formation.
