얼굴 영상에서 유전자 알고리즘 기반 형판정합을 이용한 눈동자 검출 (Detection of Pupil using Template Matching Based on Genetic Algorithm in Facial Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 조명하에서의 단일 얼굴 영상에 대해 유전자 알고리즘과 형판 정합을 이용하여 빠르게 눈동자를 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 기존의 눈동자 검출 방법은 초기 개체군의 위치에 민감하여 낮은 눈 검출율을 보이며, 도한 그 결과가 일관적이지 않은 문제점을 갖는다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결화기 위해 얼굴영상에서 지역적 최소치를 추출하고 형판과 가장 높은 적합도를 가지는 개체들로 초기 개체군을 생성 하였다. 각각의 개체는 형판의 기하학적 변환 정보로 구성되며, 형판 정합에 의해 눈동자가 검출된다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안한 눈 후보 검출을 통하여 단일 영상에서도 눈 검출의 정확도와 높은 검출률을 확인하였다.

Block-matching and 3D filtering algorithm in X-ray image with photon counting detector using the improved K-edge subtraction method

  • Among photon counting detector (PCD)-based technologies, the K-edge subtraction (KES) method has a very high material decomposition efficiency. Yet, since the increase in noise in the X-ray image to which the KES method is applied is inevitable, research on image quality improvement is essential. Here, we modeled a block-matching and 3D filtering (BM3D) algorithm and applied it to PCD-based X-ray images with the improved KES (IKES) method. For PCD modeling, Monte Carlo simulation was used, and a phantom composed of iodine substances with different concentrations was designed. The IKES method was modeled by adding a log term to KES, and the X-ray image used for subtraction was obtained by applying the 3.0 keV range based on the K-edge region of iodine. As a result, the IKES image using the BM3D algorithm showed the lowest normalized noise power spectrum value. In addition, we confirmed that the contrast-to-noise ratio and no-reference-based evaluation results when the BM3D algorithm was applied to the IKES image were improved by 29.36 % and 20.56 %, respectively, compared to the noisy image. In conclusion, we demonstrated that the IKES imaging technique using a PCD-based detector and the BM3D algorithm fusion technique were very efficient for X-ray imaging.

  • The partial distortion elimination (PDE) scheme is used to decrease the sum of absolute difference (SAD) computational complexity, since the SAD calculation has been taken much potion of the video compression. In motion estimation (ME) based on PDE, it is ideal that the initial value of SAD in summing performance has large value. The traditional scan order methods have many operation time and high operational complexity because these adopted the division or multiplication. In this paper, we introduce the new scan order and search order by using only adder. We define the average value which is called to rough average value (RAVR). Which is to reduce the computational complexity and increase the operational speed and then we can obtain the improvement of SAD performance. And also this RAVR is used to decide the search order sequence, since the difference RAVR between the current block and candidate block is small then this candidate block has high probability to suitable candidate. Thus, our proposed algorithm combines above two main concepts and suffers the improving SAD performance and the easy hardware implementation methods.

다이플렉서 정합구조를 이용한 전술차량형 광대역 안테나 설계 (Designing a Wideband Antenna Using Diplexer Matching Network for Tactical Vehicles)

  • SDR(software defined radio)기술을 활용한 전술통신 무전기는 음성뿐만 아니라, 고속 데이터 통신이 가능한 수준으로 발전하였으며, 다대역 및 다채널 특성을 갖고 있어 다수의 무전기 운용에서 탈피가 가능하게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모노폴 안테나에 다이플렉서 정합구조를 이용하여 전술차량형 광대역 안테나를 구현하였다. 제안한 안테나는 두개(상단, 하단)의 방사체와 다이플렉서 구조를 이용한 정합단, 하단 방사체에 삽입되어 있는 3개의 L-C회로망, 스프링 마운트로 구성되어 있다. 다이플렉서 정합단은 V/UHF 대역에서 광대역 정합특성을 갖도록 설계하였으며, 안테나 하단 방사체에 삽입되어 있는 L-C 회로망은 안테나의 운용주파수에 따라 안테나의 전기적 길이를 조절할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 안테나는 EM 툴을 활용하여 설계하였으며, 제작하여 open site 환경에서 측정을 수행하였다. 측정 결과, V/UHF 대역에서 높은 이득 특성과 중심주파수 대비 190 % 이상의 대역폭에서 VSWR 3.5 : 1 이하의 광대역 특성을 갖는 것을 확인하였다.

점이득 보정과 명도 보정을 이용한 서로 다른 매질 사이의 색정합 (Color matching using dot gain and intensity compensation for different substrates)

  • In a drop-on-demand thermal ink-jet printer, the dot size of an ink droplet expelled from a printer depends on the absorption of the paper. This causes severe differences between output images on the different paper materials. In this paper, the color matching algorithm for different papers is proposed. To achieve corresponding color reproduction, dot gain compensatio nbased on saturation was applied to predict color reproduction on a printer. If the dot gain of pigment increases, the white portion of paper decreases while the saturation value increases monotonically. As the results of dot gain compensation, intensity change may appear. Therefore, an intensity compensation without any hue variation is followed to match the colors of different subtrates.

  • In this paper, we presents a new disparity map refinement algorithm using statistical characteristics of disparity map and edge information. The proposed algorithm generate a refined disparity map using disparity maps which are obtained from area and feature-based Stereo Matching by selecting a disparity value of edge point based on the statistics of both disparity maps. Experimental results on aerial stereo image show the better results than conventional fusion algorithms in the disparity error. This algorithm can be applied to the reconstruction of building image from the high resolution remote sensing data.

  • An electromagnetic boundary-value problem of a tapered rectangular waveguide is rigorously solved based on eigenfunction expansion and the mode-matching method. Scattering parameters of the tapered rectangular waveguide are represented in a series form and calculated in terms of different rectangular waveguide combinations. Computation is performed to analyze reflection and transmission characteristics. Conductor loss by surface current density is also calculated and discussed.

  • A clique-transversal set D of a graph G is a set of vertices of G such that D meets all cliques of G. The clique-transversal number is the minimum cardinality of a clique-transversal set in G. For every cubic graph with at most two bridges, we first show that it has a perfect matching which contains exactly one edge of each triangle of it; by the result, we determine the exact value of the clique-transversal number of line graph of it. Also, we present a sharp upper bound on the clique-transversal number of line graph of a cubic graph. Furthermore, we prove that the clique-transversal number of line graph of a triangle-free graph is at most the chromatic number of complement of the triangle-free graph.

서브 블록을 이용한 MPEG-2 인트라 프레임의 시간적 오류 은닉 (Subblock Based Temporal Error Concealment of Intra Frame for MPEG-2)

  • The occurrence of a single bit error in transmission bitstream leads to serious temporal and spatial errors. Because moving picture coding as MPEG-2 based on block coding algorithm uses variable length coding and motion compensation coding algorithm. In this paper, we propose algorithm to conceal occurred error of I-frames in transmission channel using data of the neighboring blocks in decoder. We divide a damaged macroblock of I-frame into four sub blocks and compose new macroblock using the neighboring blocks for each sub block. We estimate the block with minimum difference value through block matching with previous frame for new macroblocks and replace each estimated block with damaged sub block in the same position. Through simulation results, the proposed algorithm will be applied to a characteristic of moving with effect and shows better performance than conventional error concealment algorithms from visual and PSNR of view.

  • A prediction method of conditional event matching pre-diction (EMP) for a purpose of predicting nonlinear phenomena of insulator pollution was proposed in this paper. The EMP was used if the conditional probability for increase of insulator pollution exceeded a threshold value. A performance of the EMP was strongly related to selection of database of events and a closeness function. By use of the prediction of the insulator pollution based on the conditional EMP, reliable decision making for the washing timing of the polluted insulators was e-valuated based on actual data in Kasatsu substation, Japan.
